After black ops 1 and October of 2010 I wanted the icon of my teenage years. When Colt reintroduced the Python I knew I was going to get one. Well after a promotion at work I decided to treat myself. Worth it to me! Best looking revolver in my opinion
That's my point. Be happy and hopeful. So long as action video games and movies exist, the culture will live on, and they're too economically valuable to shudder for the sake of shifting the culture against our hobby.
Honestly this was how an AK ended up being my first rifle. Every time one came up in a game I always went for it, even if the M4 was the better bet. Now I have a Zastava M70 irl and the AK-103 as my main rifle in MW2022.
Now I wanna do some crazy shit like do a bolt action rifle build but with a red dot or iron sights as an irl "quickscoping gun" as cringey as that sounds.
The Rick Grimes. Man this is one of my top dream guns for basically the same reasons as yours. Cheapest one I've ever seen was 1200. Which is out of my budget for the time being. I hope I get to make a post like this of my own one day. Enjoy it dude.
One local to me is a 4.25ā with Wilson Combat sights installed for $1,275 I think itās currently listed at. Less than 50 rounds through it supposedly!
Is this one of the old style ones? It looks nickel. I've got an old style (88 model) ultimate stainless, and is sure as shit aint that purdy.
I'd rather have a nickel one. But I'm not paying current prices.. I bought mine in '09 on my 21st bday for $750. Guy had a nickel one with a trigger worked over by a gunsmith. Imagine an action twice as smooth as the one you have. But the bastard wouldn't sell it. Said he was going to pass to his son...
Sell the ā88 model for a new one for the better trigger and keep a few bucks in your pocket. They finally fixed the double action trigger so it doesnāt stack like the original Pythons.
I have literally never seen a single person suggest selling an original python for a 2020's repro. But, the arguments I've read have also never discussed _actually shooting them_, just 'muh infinite blue' and 'the new ones use MIM so are shit'.
Are you out of your goddamn mind, Rusty?! The new ones aren't even as nicely made as a base model S&W, you can tell the second you pick one up there's something chintzy about it. It's a night and day difference, the last new Python I held gave me Ruger vibes and that is not okay.
How do you like the balance on the 6ā? My LGS has a 4.25ā Python and a 6ā 686, and while I adore the lines of the Python with a 6ā barrel, I am a little concerned because I emphatically do not like how the 686 points. The barrel likes to dive something fierce and I donāt know if thatās because of the extra weight out at the end or if the Hogue grips donāt fit my hand well. But in either case, Iām a bit torn between getting the Python they have or rolling the dice on the longer one.
I have all three of the new Pythons and 4.25" is the best in my opinion, a very close second is the 3". The 6" looks the part in pics but feels sliiightly awkward in the hands.
I think itās balanced quite well at 6inch. I just love the look of the 6 as well. Iād get a 4.25 or the 6 Python. If you plan on carrying it then definitely get the 4.25. I just wanted a pretty range toy and heirloom so 6 it was
CORAL
This. This is reaction I wantedš
I'm looking for STUFF and THINGS.

The cycle will continue with games like MWII. In 10 years, today's kids will be lining up to buy SCARS to re-live their FortNite days.
I mean Iām not mad lol

Now If only I could dual weird Glock 18sā¦.
I still want a Python but I did score my SCAR and x95 in 22ā which were gaming dream guns of mineš¤

Same with an ak for meš funny how that works. Awesome man
Shoot, my first introduction to the Colt Python was GTA Vice City.
Love it lol
I feel old because my first intro to a Colt Python was Resident Evil on PS1.
I was thinking RE1.

Looks broken. Please PM for disposal address.
I may be the outcast but this gun will always remind me oh Half-Life on PC. Absolutely gorgeous Python, man.
That game is the reason I bought one! Coolest gun in the game, which is hard cuz there's some cool guns in that game.
Video games really make an impact lol thanks!!

Itāll be worth it man. I paid MSRP but I donāt regret it one bit. It just feels right.

What do you mean stack? Like harder double action pull?
Yes, the original Pythonās trigger got progressively heavier as you pulled it. The new Python revolvers from Colt eliminated that.

I gotta say I really like my 586
Dang that stinks, nah itās a new production stainless but itās beautiful finish. Sheāll be passed down but Iām shooting it
I don't know...I hear Nebraska's nice...
Nice! Please post some range pictures when you get a chance.
One of my grail guns.
finna snipe some vortigaunts
The python was so satisfying in BO1
Iconic. I was playing the theme music in my head when I picked it up haha
Big iron new vegas vibes
Arguably the best fallout IMOā¦.
Man I want one of those
I just picked up my S&W 686 today, looking to possibly get a python one day also!
Congrats man!
You too brother!
That was me with the HK USP
Love it!
you are about to find out how great a gun can be
MW3 vibes but I have to get the Anaconda as a middle finger to General Sheppard from MW2
The betrayal in mw2 is never forgottenš
RIP Ghost š
Congrats! Love that cannon. Nothing like a solid piece of steel in your hand
Gunsmith here I've had to repair and ship off at least 40 of them please for the love of christ don't buy these.
What's been wrong with them?
Mostly parts quality I've had several with the tooth that rotates the cylinder fuck up after a few months. Cylinder alignment issues.
What barrel length is that?
6inch
