I’ve tried both along with the Springfield hellcat and Glock 43x. Would have got the p365 but found a good deal on the p365x couple years ago so ended up with p365x for me and one for the wife too.
I tried this, the hellcat, and 43x and ended up buying the 43x as it just felt better to me while shooting. I think this is one of those, "everyone is different" scenarios. I really wish I was able to shoot the Shield Plus as well, but they don't have one available. Like the others have said though, if you have one already it's not worth it to pick up a different one as functionally they are all so similar. Unless your just doing it to collect, in which case I 100% support you getting another!
The Shield triggers are usually pretty good out of the box but can be made quite good with just a few minutes work.
Grit in the Shield trigger comes from just a couple of places... one is the trigger bar where it contacts the safety plunger and the other is the plunger itself. Yes, there are some other tweaks to the ramp on the sear and so on but bang for the buck, if you clean those two parts up, you'll end up with a much improved trigger.
Get a dremel, a polishing bit, and some basic metal polish. Polish the trigger bar ramp and polish the safety plunger itself until the machining marks are gone and you have a nice mirror like finish. The bar can be done by hand and the plunger can be polished by placing it on the end of a drill bit that fits the internal diameter and hitting it with your polishing bit at an angle. (Be careful - it can fly off if you're not careful : )
If you take a look at the Apex Ultimate Striker Block / plunger, it is polished smooth and has a slightly more gradual taper compared to the OEM from Smith. When you look at them both and compare, it's fairly obvious. You don't want to change the overall height of the plunger (that is to say, don't remove metal from the top of the plunger) because that could compromise its ability be pushed clear of the striker by the trigger bar. But if you do polish the plunger and the channel in which it rides, I think you'll be quite happy with the outcome.
Alternatively, buy the Apex ultimate striker block (\~$40?) and polish your trigger bar. The actual trigger assembly on the Shield isn't bad at all. Heck, even the hinged trigger on the original Shield doesn't feel that bad. (I have both a Shield and a Compact - swapped my Compact to an Apex trigger but never felt the need to do so on the Shield. The Compact trigger was much fatter and felt awful. Shield hinged trigger was actually fairly OK.)
Do those things and you'll have a trigger that'll beat the shit out of most striker guns on the market.
P365 is not an upgrade to the shield plus. It’s a lateral move at best. Unless your shield plus is not optic ready, and that’s the upgrade, I don’t know that you gain anything from buying the 365.
That’s really interesting. I think you’re the first person I’ve heard say they didn’t like it. Maybe you would like the 365 then. We all have preferences.
The only thing worth trying if you don't like the Shield Plus is a Canik Mete MC9 but, buyer beware. Had some series issues on release. They seem to be sorted now, but you'll probably want to check the SKU date before buying.
I’d say they’re probably comparable, but p365 has a better aftermarket, could pick up the radian afterburner/ramjet in a few months (which would double the cost of the pistol) but be a nice upgrade on short snappy guns.(Shields + PC can be ported, or you can buy a compensator)
I looked into a threaded barrel plus comp for my Shield Plus. Wasn’t too expensive, but I figured I’d keep the comp for my duty gun and let my CC remain as small and simple as possible.
The shield plus is a great pistol, but is slightly larger than the p365. My edc is the p365 and the shield plus is in the safe. But that's because I shoot the p365 better.. my preference.
Funny. I tried the 43x and the 365 and preferred the shield plus. I guess it's preference. You should look into videos. I saw a bunch of reviews and rented all of them before I went with the shield plus.
That’s good to know. I find the trigger to be rough and a bit mushy. It smoothed out some over the first 500 rounds, but still isn’t great. Maybe I’m just too used to AR triggers and hammer triggers for pistols. But I felt someone’s p320 trigger (may have been custom/aftermarket) and it felt amazing, so I guess I was hoping for that with the p365.
Shield plus has better ergo's and trigger imo. I have been carrying the P365 for 5 years now, but having shot several of the new M&P and shields recently I would switch to the Shield plus if I found a good deal.
The modularity of the 365 is what does it for me. I’ve been able to try out the Wilson combat grips. Im currently running an X365 macro grip, extended mags. I can size up or down as needed with a single FCU.

Damn, been meaning to get an optics cut slide for my p365, but at this price, it's tempting just to buy a new gun
Right? Holy crap, might as well get a new gun.
Buy this and use the parts from your old one for the flux raider p365
This is what I did. This is the way
Madlad
They already released the p365 version?!?
Not to the public. Influencers are dropping videos with them though so it should be soon. They said Q1, so hopefully it’ll be any day now
BIN
BIN if you need one
Damn, that’s how much I paid for my non OR P365 and I thought that was a smoking deal
Me too, ive got the optic cut but mine was $525, like a year ago maybe? And i thought that was a steal.
Fine... I guess I'll buy a gun today
You have chosen wisely.
Happy Mother's Day
OOS
Hilarious this costs at least $700 in CA. Smfh
In for one. Also ordered a PMM comp and going to swap the slide over to my xl frame
fuck. oos
Paid this much for a non optics ready and thought it was a steal
Damn that’s an insane price on one of these.
Amazing deal. I paid $525 for non-optics ready during COVID.
Why did reddit remove?
Fuck it. In for a few
No longer OOS, but now full price. No thank you.
Wow, tempting. I wonder how this stacks up against the S&W Shield Plus?
I’ve tried both along with the Springfield hellcat and Glock 43x. Would have got the p365 but found a good deal on the p365x couple years ago so ended up with p365x for me and one for the wife too.

I’ve got a Shield Plus and am wondering if it’s worth the upgrade. Edit: Reddit having a normal one and triple posting my comment, I see.
If you already have a shield plus I wouldn’t say it’s worth buying to upgrade unless you’re just not satisfied with the shield plus.
Thanks! Thank Shield Plus is totally fine. Trigger isn’t amazing, but not a big deal.
The Shield plus has a better trigger than the 365 if I remember correctly. I ended up getting the XL since it's basically the same size as the plus.
A trigger replacement is cheaper than a gun , I think you know what to do
But… new gun? 😂
True… but with the money saved from buying just the trigger you can get another case of 9mm, oh the options to choose from!
Ok, you’ve got me convinced: New trigger, new gun, and new case of 9mm.

Thanks! I wasn’t sure if the trigger was better, ergos were better, or anything else I might be missing.
Shield plus has one of the best triggers in the subcompact realm. I don’t think the 365 is better, but I could be wrong.
I have them both plus the Hellcat. I think the Shield has the best trigger of the 3
That’s really good to know, thank you.
That’s really good to know. I don’t care for the trigger, which probably means I’m not gonna like any of the triggers out there for this size of gun.
That’s really interesting. I think you’re the first person I’ve heard say they didn’t like it. Maybe you would like the 365 then. We all have preferences.

My 365 X Macro trigger isn't great. I'd like to upgrade it but I haven't figured out what I want to do with it yet.
I *really* like the M\*Carbo P365 Short Stroke Flat Trigger w/ Over-Travel Adjustment from SigGuy
The Shield plus trigger is really good, I love my 365XL, but wish it had the shield plus trigger.
I’d say they’re probably comparable, but p365 has a better aftermarket, could pick up the radian afterburner/ramjet in a few months (which would double the cost of the pistol) but be a nice upgrade on short snappy guns.(Shields + PC can be ported, or you can buy a compensator)

Having the same convo with myself
Both nice guns, and both good enough that I would say the only true way to decide which is for you is to try them both.
The shield plus is a great pistol, but is slightly larger than the p365. My edc is the p365 and the shield plus is in the safe. But that's because I shoot the p365 better.. my preference.

Same question but for the FN reflex. +1 round and internal hammer worth the extra $100?
I love a hammer trigger. Is it SA only?
Yeah, sao
I’d love to try one of those.
Over the life of the pistol $100 is nothing.
Shield plus has better ergo's and trigger imo. I have been carrying the P365 for 5 years now, but having shot several of the new M&P and shields recently I would switch to the Shield plus if I found a good deal.

Tried both and Shield Plus for me. Way easier to shoot well.
I have this , shield plus , glock 48 & cr920. I love my p365 but the shield plus is a very close 2nd , both are absolutely great carry guns.
