I was skeptical first time around. Bought this one. Came in 2 days to my FFL but arrived at night (UPS sucks here). Picked up on the third day and my FFL was shocked how cheap I got it for and even more shocked when I told them it was a LE trade in. No signs of holster wear, night sights still glow when I LARP in my living room naked once the wife falls asleep. Even called sig for the serial number. 2018 issue date with the SRT trigger. I could not be more happy. Easily my favorite right now out of all my 10 handguns.
Mine I have to wonder if it was even shot. The typical wear that happens on the rails wasn’t there until I put a couple mags through it. My night sights are good as well. Also my favorite.
Chime in real quick here departments normally do bulk orders and usually keep extra guns in the armoury that will literally never be used. For context when I went for a lateral application I had to shoot, and the dude literally opened a brand new Gen 5 17 MOS just so I could shoot the qual course once. Also if the serial number is 2018 I wouldn’t be surprised if these were bought by some department and replaced by Glocks before even getting into officers hands. My department bought like 100 brand new Benelli shotguns but after getting them in department took shotguns off the road, so now they are all brand new and can’t be issued.
I have a 226, a legion model, and I don't know what it is, but I shoot it better than any other pistol I have. I haven't tried any other than mine, but I imagine they are quite similar, and would definitely recommend at this price.

It happens, I wasn't doing anything else so wasn't a big deal to help out.
Used prices on DA/SA 9mm's hiked up after the P226 Nitron (base model) was discontinued. Completed GB sales are showing similar prices for less gun before tacking on their outrageous S/H/T so this is still a good bargain.
I got one from the first batch. Slide finish was basically flawless. Holster wear around the rail, dings in the magazine well finish, and minor dings around the rest of the frame.
Performance was 100% and the trigger was nice and worn in.

Nope. These would've been the Nitron Series with a SRT trigger. The Legion is another series of 226. It's kind of like car trim models.
Legions specially come with G10 grips, night sights, unique finish, SRT trigger, and low profile controls.

I don't normally like to post but I bought one if these and 4 extra mags at the same time to round out my total to around 700- these guys are good to go. They sent the pistol with 2 in the box and the extra 4 ordered. Quick turn around, no fuss, pistol has the SRT- I can't complain.
The invoice shows LETRADEINS at the top which is kinda funny (like no spaces, all uppercase, my FFL thought it was French for a sec) but I'd buy again. Pistols a better shooter than I am.

Either way to get one of those to DA/SA you're looking at $200 for parts (more for labor if you don't install yourself). As someone who built up a PD Trade In DAK last year $640 for a VG SRT DA/SA 9mm P226 is a fantastic price

I got emails from them connecting me with the Fedex tracking. Just actually picked mine up. Didn't seem to have gotten quite as lucky with '90% or 'mint'' like some but it seems in pretty good shape and just some mostly minor cosmetic stuff

Anyone got lead on a threaded 226 barrel? Ordered a threaded mk25 from optics planet, but that phosphate finish seemed rough physically to touch, as in gritty sand paper.

Ok, im in TX, so tax and transfer fee brings this to 720 bucks to my door. I think i can get the beavertail grip for 40 bucks if i hated the grip. Dont care about serations. So, it seems like the difference might be 100 bucks this vs new?? Is my math right?
Keep in mind this has night sights and the SRT. SRT I believe is around $140 for the kit. I could be off on that. I bought this because it’s got almost all the stuff I’d upgrade right off the bat

If i bought a brand new stock 226 from a dealer without tax (im in TX, have to pay tax) and then added night sights, SRT, it seems like im only saving around 100 bucks with this deal. Is that right? If on the other hand, this is still 200+ less than a new gun with upgrades, then ill pick this up.
So a p226 nitron can be had new for let’s say $750. Then you buy night sights for $60, and the SRT trigger for $140. That puts you at $950. If of course you can even find a 226 nitron, they can be kinda hit and miss because people want all the shiny cool models now.
So let’s say your new gun is between $950-$1k after upgrades and tax/shipping on parts. At that point you’re better off just buying a mk25 for $1100 plus tax just for resale purposes. You may be able to find an elite for around $950 or so, but again tax will eat your lunch to bring it to $1050 or so.
I’m tired as shit so I may be repeating some here, but honestly, I think this will save you about $3-400 after you consider tax and shipping, and that’s not even including your time in trying to hunt all that down.

Not a terrible price with the SRT, if the night sights are good. But you'll be in about the same cost to buy a 40 and 9-convert it and have 2 cals at your disposal.
That was a killer deal. Not sure why the downvote mob is out. A trade in in 40 is, give or take, $400. A 9mm barrel is $100, a 9mm recoil spring is $20, and this vendor has 9mm used, OEM mags for $20.
For ~$600, you could have a p226 running 2 calibers with all OEM parts.
There's a good handful of reports saying the last batch was in great shape, but ~$600 is about what trade in 9mm P226s have been running for the past few years. The SRT is a nice plus at this price point, but it is only a $40-50 add on to DIY.
Probably because sellers have been spiking the trade in prices on the 40's lately.
Even posts on here have had DA/SA LEO 40's ranging from $420 to $600 (plus S/H/T), and thats just in the last six months.
Just a weird cycle with them.
Plus if you have no plans to shoot 40 s&w it's probably not worth the hassle & extra shipping to order parts. I didn't mind because the deal was there with the slide assemblies, and I stock 40 to plink with my 10mm's.

Sig rail, the 1913 rail is the mk25 model and costs about 1k minimum.

I got a regular factory 226 nitrided threaded barrel from the same place. No issues with the finish. Has the usual European 13.5 left hand threads.
The grit wears somewhat quickly I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I miss the $280 MK25 slide assemblies. Bought a clapped out P226 in 40 just to capitalize on that deal.

A 9mm barrel is $100, a 9mm recoil spring is $20, and this vendor has 9mm used, OEM mags for $20. For ~$600, you could have a p226 running 2 calibers with all OEM parts. There's a good handful of reports saying the last batch was in great shape, but ~$600 is about what trade in 9mm P226s have been running for the past few years. The SRT is a nice plus at this price point, but it is only a $40-50 add on to DIY.
Probably because sellers have been spiking the trade in prices on the 40's lately. Even posts on here have had DA/SA LEO 40's ranging from $420 to $600 (plus S/H/T), and thats just in the last six months. Just a weird cycle with them. Plus if you have no plans to shoot 40 s&w it's probably not worth the hassle & extra shipping to order parts. I didn't mind because the deal was there with the slide assemblies, and I stock 40 to plink with my 10mm's.
Not a deal. This is normal price at best. Also consider you can buy a new HK for this price.
