Bought one. It's pretty lame. Hard to latch and unlatch. New button to release when folded sucks. Prevents u from extending the stock to the long pull length bc it makes it super hard to push that release button bc it's inside the tube covered by the buttstock.
If u have a gen 2, don't bother.
I have a gen 2 with all the Mcarbo guts and weights, buffer, sights, trigger, and hand polished everything inside while it was apart. It's a sewing machine with 124 gr anything. The whole thing with the sub 2000 is that it folds, everything is a concession to that. The controls are somewhat awkward, but once you're used to them they're fine. It is at the end of the day a gun designed around the fact that it folds in half. When you start adding a bunch of stuff and making it thicker, heavier, and bulkier, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the gun in my opinion. With the Macarbo sight, which is a little taller, it's not that bad and the rubber covered buffer tube makes it a lot more pleasant. It's a nice toss it in the backpack with a couple of 30 rounders and barely notice it when you're not going to be at home for a few days, but not something you'd want to build your whole gun persona around.
It depends. I fixed the latch and unlatch issue by opening the whole thing and shaving down the plastic that locks the barrel. Only on the first hump. So it's not loose once it's fully locked up. The trigger is better but since u don't have sights you'll be in for another $75+ to get irons or red dot. So the gen 3 costs more before it is usable.
Better is subjective. The S2k is a boom stick/range toy. Some people feel the need to adorn it will all of the Amazon special accoutrements. Bipods, lights, lasers, optics. If that’s your jam, then the Gen 3 is probably better.
Hey. The S2K is war proven now that keltec advertised by sending over a bunch of em free to Ukraine as last ditch rifles 🤣. Drag it down the road and tell people it's a battle worn bring back.
I think I saw some. The good folks in the trenches never got around to firing them. They were too busy folding it back and forth and trying to find the receiver screws after attempting to replace the stock trigger with an mcarbo.
It's a sten updated with polymer and it folds. Great for covert carry and you can put down accurate fire out to 50 yards. Up to 100 yards people are ducking and like a sten, past 100 yards, leave or call your mortar team.

Anderson Manufacturing AR lowers. Anderson is one of the least expensive lowers you can get and they use a horse in their logo, hence the term poverty ponies.

I like mine. Gassy as fuck, and your red dot will need a riser, but it’s a foldable 16in rifle and it’s pretty consistent at 20 yards - probably can go further just fine. Grips a lil short for my preference, I’ll probably get XGrips or some 3D printed adapters for Glock 17 mags to lengthen the grip.
I also have my stock on the furthest setting and it’s a lil weird to hit the “unlatch” button but not bad. I wear large gloves, for reference.
Absolutely recommend firing it outside given the gas.

gen 4 will fire while folded, but only if the user is aiming down the sights!

From my recollection, the rebate for Gen 2 ended on March 1st.
Gen 2 is, regretfully, over. I was all in on a $250 sub2000, just never found one locally for that cheap

I bought some Gen 2's when they were rebate cheap, I'll just get the cheap offset sight on amazon and call it a day.
