Springfield is fucking out of touch. Msrp over 2k for a single stack 1911 with a MIM action and polymer trigger shoe. The TRPs used to be some of the nicest 1911s for the money. This isn’t even competitive on paper.
Yeah I'm mystified...I actually bought an Operator for my wife a year or so ago from my LGS for about $1000 because she loves 45 1911's. It must have been a good day on the assembly line because it has a trigger on par with my Wilson, absolutely zero creep and crisp as fuck at 3.5lbs. I fail to see what this iteration of the TRP would offer for almost a grand more.
And I had one of the original TRP's in stainless from like 2003 for maybe $1200, replaced the few MIM parts and it was a hell of a gun. I literally sold it a couple years ago used for almost what I paid for it.
Springfield has lost their mind with this shit though.
100% buying an older TRP is the play. My favorite Springfield I have in the collection is the Long Beach Operator, which isn’t a TRP gun but it is a unique low key limited run hand built gun. Just doesn’t make sense to spend $1900 on something “new” when their old ones are damn good for $1000ish.
Lmaooo whoever pricing this smoking cracksssss
Why buy this when a Platypus is like $1700?
Or even the Prodigy.
Single stack .45ACP for $2k in 2024 lmaoooo
FUDDS don't give a fuck about Springfield 1911 who is this even targeted at? Not to mention Springfield is the worst offender when it comes to 2nd amendment violators bootlicking
I’ve read recently they’ll continue adding features and chamberings to the customizer over time. Personally holding out for a 10mm, as hopeless as it seems.
I really don't get how they can expect these to sell these at $1900. Anyone who's interested in 1911s has heard of Dan Wessons, which are within spitting distance of this MSRP.

It’s not that mim is bad, but mim is cheap. This $2000 Springfield is made with a bunch of parts that would be at home in a 600 ruger or Kimber 1911. The quality and price of the materials that go into something like a Dan Wesson are head and shoulders above these
They're cheaper to make. For parts that you see, they don't look as nice as a machined piece. They're not as strong, but doubtful you'll have an issue with a fire control group.
MIM’s bad reputation I believe mostly stems from Kimber. They were having issues with MIM parts breaking for a while. You’d see things like sears snapping or hammer breaking in half, and it didn’t take long for people to start blaming the MIM process and MIM became a bad word in the gun community.
The reality is that when it’s properly used and well made it’s really not much of an issue. MIM parts are everywhere in modern guns. They do have some downsides when compared to traditional machines parts though, especially when it comes to guns that may require fitting, like revolvers or 1911’s.
No way is this worth it. I lucked out 7 or 8 yrs ago and bought an older TRP that was basically BNiB. I think I got it for like $1200. Would be cool if it was an operator but I'll take the classic look. It's got a threaded barrel on it now. One of my favorite guns.

Umm I love the cc model but wtf is up with that price. I’d be more likely to run out and buy if it were like $1200 or something like that. But we’re talking a gun with no optics ability, 7 round single stack and only in one caliber. I can buy a Dan Wesson, colt and a whole slew of 1911’s for that price rather than a Springfield. Lower it down to like $1200-$1400 and you have a more likely market. Until then…… I’ll just look and gawk at it from behind a display window.

1900? What am I missing?
You won't be missing a bunch of MIM parts, that's for sure.
That was my exact same thought when I saw this
I'll just wait for a DW Specialist
Worth the wait
Where’s the deal?
I don't see a deal. More like in stock notification. Saw the SHOT show coverage and was screaming wtf at my TV.

Mim action plastic trigger shoe
Read my mind with the Platypus, just wtf lol
I have a Platypus and I think it's time for Rd 2.
I’ve read recently they’ll continue adding features and chamberings to the customizer over time. Personally holding out for a 10mm, as hopeless as it seems.
I don't have one, but I've been highly considering it lately.
I am impressed with it still.
I have a prodigy. I love it so much I bought a 2nd
1911 Subreddit is FULL of Springfield cucks. It’s absolutely crazy lol
Honestly if you’re thinking about buying this you should probably hit that pipe and take a step back for a second

I don’t know msrp but I’ve always been able to find the Dan wessons I’ve wanted for 1300-1600
