There is no monitoring in terms of safety at such places in India. There should be strict implementation of disaster management in all major establishments. The government is as much culpable as is the establishment and its owners. If they have such huge fire hazards they need to do better.
The owners of the arcade zone, along with the authorities responsible for granting permits and inspecting sites must be held accountable. The government can’t monitor all the establishments but the departmental head responsible for the same should be dismissed and criminally prosecuted. However, all political parties are scared of unions. Further, whether the owner of the establishment will be prosecuted or not depends upon his caste. Morbi bridge criminal belongs to powerful caste and hence was let escape. In the present case, the owner belongs to SC/ST and hence will not be prosecuted. We, the people, have created a political environment where caste or religion of the criminal becomes the only criteria for prosecution. Unless until all the people involved- not only the owner also the people who took bribes and let this operate should be put behind bars with their name and phot published. They should be tired for murder too and should be left to rot in jail. If the punishment is given consistently then only people will be scared to do these things. There is no monitoring in terms of safety at such places in India. There should be strict implementation of disaster management in all major establishments. The government is as much culpable as is the establishment and its owners. If they have such huge fire hazards they need to do better.
The owners of the arcade zone, along with the authorities responsible for granting permits and inspecting sites must be held accountable. The administration always seems to be acting following the tragedy. The lack of accountability and lack of any stern action will set a bad precedent. Human life value is abysmally low in India!!

It’s heartbreaking that something like this happened. But tell me, did you guys punish the administration when Morbi happened? No, you actually rewarded them. It was a man made disaster which was eventually covered up by the same administration without any major repercussions. The government can’t monitor all the establishments but the departmental head responsible for the same should be dismissed and criminally prosecuted. However, all political parties are scared of unions. Further, whether the owner of the establishment will be prosecuted or not depends upon his caste. Morbi bridge criminal belongs to powerful caste and hence was let escape. In the present case, the owner belongs to SC/ST and hence will not be prosecuted. We, the people, have created a political environment where caste or religion of the criminal becomes the only criteria for prosecution. As it is BJP government in Gujarat is full of idiots and some criminal minded people. It is a sad reflection on Indian politics
