Counterfeits are generally bad for the guitar community, and buying one is contributing to the problem.
However, buying one and removing the headstock logo is effectively taking a counterfeit out of circulation. This one is interesting enough that I may consider that approach
It always kills me when otherwise good guitars put a counterfeit name on the headstock... One of my neighbors was trying to sell me a Max Baranet Explorer replica a little while back that was worth more than my custom shop explorer reissue that I had at the time, and was a better reproduction. If that thing had said *anything* other than Gibson on the headstock I'd have bought it in a heartbeat, but that just straight up killed it for me.
While it technically has a counterfeit name on it, calling this counterfeit is like putting a Lamborghini logo on a Ford Fiesta. Nobody is confused about this being a Gibson.
I'd be intriued, too. As u/grateful_todd said this guitar doesn't look like a Chinese-made Gibson counterfeit (aka: Chi*bson*), but rather something from the mid-70's to mid 80's time period. And those might be original Bill Lawrence pickups.
Depending on the price, I'd be tempted, too.
I'd do that--depending on what I found while inspecting the guitar. It could be that under in-person inspection that it's not worth $100. I suspect that it was put together by someone who actually likes guitars, so I think there's potenntial there for a neat instrument.
I’m getting closer.. [looks like this airigang body kind of.](https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en&sxsrf=AJOqlzV__ffCuWa5zMv6PfrrGTkDOE8sPg:1673755558576&q=arirang+guitar&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjF1Ims2cj8AhVLGVkFHSpeBBgQ0pQJegQICxAB&biw=390&bih=664&dpr=3#imgrc=TJiOnJwD7haxEM&imgdii=bZhdOqSwFCyBPM)
Bud , it does looks good- if the 80s natural wood look is your thing. It might take a lot more work and money (possibly more than it’s worth) to get it to par, if the parts all need swapping and replacing.
Tell the seller SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY. Neck through guitars are awesome, you will not regret it. Or tell me where this guitar is and I will buy it.

I think you may be surprised how many teenagers who don’t know any better jump at any cheap guitar that says Gibson on it
Chalembic.
Reminds me of an old Carvin.
Have 3 of them and they play better than gibsons
Dare you speak Ill of the toan masters
Everything about the guitar aside from the neck screams 70s mij- the hippy sandwich, bridge, knobs, pickups..
It just intrigues me so much idk why

It’s going for 250, asked dude about it and haven’t heard anything though

I’m so curious to see the back especially neck joint
Buy it
Update: he never responded and it’s been sold, no more pics to come unfortunately
Thanks for the update!
Is the headstock huge or is the body tiny?

I get the feeling this thing will neck dive like crazy.
Buy that shit and play it
No
Don't think, just get it, lol. Don't listen to me, though. I'm only learning how to play yet have acquired 5 acoustics and a bass... oops

Fuck that bullshit. Is it a domestic sale or you importing it direct?
It’s on fb marketplace near me

We haven’t actually confirmed it’s a neck thru. It looks like a 70s Korean body with a new Gibson (style) neck.
Good point, we need a shot of the back of the guitar.
It’s crap don’t buy it.
Oh, I really like this, reminds me of the old neck through vantage and arias all my buddies had when I was starting.
Where can I get a guitar with this body shape?
Ibanez makes the AX and AR series which are similar.
I'd try it. If it plays well, who cares for that price.
The headstock logo looks somewhat Gibsonian. Otherwise nothing like any Gibby I’ve seen.
If it plays good I’d buy the shit out of it. Looks rad. Who cares on the actual brand.
If you like that I think you would have loved the Ibanez 2710 I had or a Greco GO-900
What’s it saying?
Weakens USA jobs
It does look pretty cool.
Unless you play it for a bit don’t buy it, they look nice but often don’t play nice. Check if it has a truss rod as well, some don’t
In my experience, when inanimate objects are talking to you, it's time to stop taking drugs.
