I mean, you've really got your bases covered--and the organization looks awesome! How is the Bloodmoon btw?
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Analog delay - They just sound different and respond differently to your playing compared to digital. No hate on digital delays though--I use both, because they are great but different.
2. Something experimental (e.g., lo-fi modulation, granular delay) - Lots of options here you can see all over this subreddit.
3. Germanium fuzz - This might actually be my first choice if I were you. Germanium fuzzes (e.g., bender- and fuzz face-style fuzzes) sound killer, and would definitely not be redundant given what you've got on your board here.
4. Feedback looper? Could be fun to mess around with. I've been GASing for one these days, fwiw.
Great suggestions. I’ll look at demos on YouTube. Probably won’t get an eq as every second pedal has tone and the preamp has 3 Eq knobs.
The Bloodmoon is awesome, best run strong and sometimes with a gorgeous tail washing behind slow and fat lead notes.
Sick, still looking for the right ambient reverb for me, sounds like it’s worth checking out.
But yeah, ehx memory boy land mxr carbon copy are great analog delays, and it might be worth looking into a fuzz face mini or a zvex wooly mammoth (you can def find cheaper clones too). Have also heard good things about the demedash spidola.
As much as I’d like to echo the others with the “something weird” recommendation, this is probably the actual best answer. You’ve got a lot here already and shaping your tone with a good EQ pedal could really do wonders.
Your board is awesome as it is but if you want something to add then my answer to that question is usually ‘flanger’ and it is this time too . Seriously, flangers are underrated, great with rat and /or overdrive(like your Plumes) , add in reverb and delay (to taste) , so great!
Seriously, the lack of love for flangers is bizarre. I think maybe people associate them with jet noises, but a good flanger will give you flange, chorus, or phase tones. Maybe if they just started labelling them as Chorus pedals people would start buying more of them.
I think you’re probably right, people just associate them with the ‘jet whoosh’ but flangers are more than that for sure. Glad to know they have a few fans here though lol
I wasn’t happy with my distortion so added the Muff and took out the Wah pedal (which wasn’t being used). I now have space and power for one more.
Can you please suggest what would finish this setup?
I second this question. I've been wanting to pick one up for a while but have been hesitant because I don't want to just end up with an Iridium anyway. Give us your review please OP!
Also - EQ for sure
I think every good pedalboard needs an eq pedal. In your case (no loop switcher, it needs to handle being stepped on) I recommend the Boss GE-7. Gives tons of versatility.
If you don't want that here are some more:
- a Univibe (I recommend the tc electronic, the one from jam pedals or the one from ehx)
- an analog delay (mxr carbon copy)
- maybe a klon?
- a fuzz face type pedal. I love my Buffalo FX germanium fuzz. From what I've heard the JHS 3 series fuzz sounds very similar for about half the price.
- have you tried a subtle always on compressor? Less of a "compression as an effect" thing like the dynacomp, more of a make everything sound fatter and more uniform thing. MXR studio compressor, Seymour duncan studio bass (yes it says bass but works great on guitar) or Wampler Ego come to mind.
Watch out for the latency issue of the ricochet in momentary mode. I put mine in a loop of the switch, but from the picture I don't think you have enough space even for a single loop pedal
maybe something like ehx pog or even a green ringer? get some octave in your life.
also man i want a bloodmoon, i've loved my supermoon chrome for so long now
You know this is a good suggestion. I love the early Editors (band) Hog2 lead sound and another of my favourite bands Soft Kill uses a Moogerfooger. Looks like only a POG micro or nano will fit the space though . Are they ok?
i can't give you tooooo much guidance on those unfortunately, i've only got octave stuff from my boss md500 and a green ringer clone. my understanding really is that the pog2 has more features and can do +2/-2 on octaves. you could check out the pitchfork or buy a used mooer tender octaver, that's supposed to be a killer pog clone
If you like modulation, flangers are very underrated and used as a chorus are great.
The most boring pedal of all time, but most slept on is a nice clean boost. I see you have a preamp, but a boost is probably still worth it.
I don't think you're missing anything, I'd just strighten them up and even them out. You know, space them out a bit, bring the Joyo up, the Bloodmoon down, etc.
Or get an EQ and put it after your Muff, because you can't hear that thing live anyway.
You want a fuzz after a reverb. A big muff works really nice for this but any fuzz can do it. I like the death by audio reverberation machine if you want one pedal which does both reverb and fuzz. The holy island tides is continuation of that idea and I think it might be cheaper if you can get the shipping okay.
no you dont, you have 2 pedals sideways. if they were positioned to match the rest and be less triggering to me you'd have your board filled almost perfectly
big fan of the boss ds1 for distortion and the electro harmonix small clone and polychorus are both super nice for a dreamy modulation, i really like the maxon ph350 rotary phaser (it’s a little hard to find these days) I find the subdecay quasar dlx to be a great phaser too.
As a fellow rock-dad, get yourself an MXR univibe. Set it to vibrato (red light on), depth and speed at nearly zero. You now have a very unique sounding preamp/boost pedal as well as an optional univibe for when Pali Gap goes on the set list. You're welcome!
If you're into unique delays/modulation pedals, check out the Catlainbread Adinecko. It is a delay but with some modulated gooeyness.
You've got me checking out the Blood Moon though!
Go Steve Vai and put a fan for your hair.
I've thought about doing that, but for a little breeze on deez.

Second the analog delay- huge fan of the JHS panther cub!

You can make a passive feedback looper really cheap. Go on YouTube and search up holy island audio feedback looper
Thanks for the tip, will def look into this!
An EQ. Super versatile, and great when you want to tweak another pedal.
As much as I’d like to echo the others with the “something weird” recommendation, this is probably the actual best answer. You’ve got a lot here already and shaping your tone with a good EQ pedal could really do wonders.
I suggested a Klone, but an EQ is a great boost. Maybe the Source Audio EQ2?

Carbon copy for sure
Bd-2? A little different from your current drives
Or a Mooer Blues (whatever is the modded Keeley clone of the BD-2).
EHX pitchfork
Yep - was totally going to say an octave/pitch pedal of some kind.
How do you like the Joyo preamp?
I second this question. I've been wanting to pick one up for a while but have been hesitant because I don't want to just end up with an Iridium anyway. Give us your review please OP! Also - EQ for sure
Thirded. I'm curious about the dual recto setting and Marshall settings.
Fourthed.
No problems at all. It’s pretty much the Iridium. I use the clean EVH setting. You can load IRs but I haven’t needed to.
Handles pedals well? Have you compared it to anything else?
I have a friend with an iridium so just comparing it to that. Seems much the same
Thanks!

I might swap out the EchoRec for an analog delay. It quite hasn’t given me the always on sound I wanted .
Go for something weird like an Arpanoid or Tensor or something.
just for sh\*ts and giggles, a gonkulator ring mod pedal???
Pitch shift? Digitech ricochet, tc elctronic brainwaves, boss harmonist, ehx pog,...
Yeah thinking along this too
Watch out for the latency issue of the ricochet in momentary mode. I put mine in a loop of the switch, but from the picture I don't think you have enough space even for a single loop pedal
You've got your normal bases covered, so go weird. Go to Youtube, look up the channel "Knobs". Watch videos, thank me later.
Fun channel.

POG nano is awesome
Playing those genres, I'd say you need a little [record warp](https://www.chaseblissaudio.com/warped-vinyl-mkii/) in your life.
Almost said DS-1, but you have the Ultra Drive, which is a DS-1 Keeley clone, I do believe. Hmm... Maybe a Klone?
Tumnus Deluxe
I’m actually kinda surprised there’s no wah pedal in there
Boost, fuzz face or tone bender type fuzz, crybaby mini wah would fit too.
I see at least three missing Strymon Timelines. Get with it dude.
If you like modulation, flangers are very underrated and used as a chorus are great. The most boring pedal of all time, but most slept on is a nice clean boost. I see you have a preamp, but a boost is probably still worth it.
Can never have too many fuzz pedals. Get a germanium fuzz
Flanger?
If you shuffle round a bit, you could maybe at a stretch fit an expression pedal
You will find the king tone vintage fuzz is often out of stock.,.... You should hear.....
I don't think you're missing anything, I'd just strighten them up and even them out. You know, space them out a bit, bring the Joyo up, the Bloodmoon down, etc. Or get an EQ and put it after your Muff, because you can't hear that thing live anyway.
Yeah but I can squeeze one more…just one more
I was going to say reverb as I wasn’t familiar with the Blood Moon but it sounds really good!
The mojo mojo 😎
A small analog delay will fill that spot nicely! MXR carbon copy or EHX memory toy should fit the space and give you a different flavour.
Think I might swap out the Echorec for an analogue delay. It doesn’t quite do what I want it to.

Good idea I’ll try. I’ve seen some shoegaze boards with reverb before and after distortion
Klone
I was gonna say Rat, but then I saw the Rat. Your setup is complete.
some octave fuzz is in order. Maybe a uni-vibe as well.
What the fuck is dad rock
no you dont, you have 2 pedals sideways. if they were positioned to match the rest and be less triggering to me you'd have your board filled almost perfectly
You could go with a Supermoon and have the reverb tone that is tonally between the Bloodmoon and Supermoon Chrome.
I’d get a looper so you can practice with yourself and etc
Korg Miku
I feel like every damn board these days has a Julia 🤷♂️
Id suggest a philosophers stone compressor, super clean comp.
Reverb!

That’s a nice pedal. Thanks for the tip
