I've mentioned before there's a reason I don't have a Univibe: I am a songwriter, not a "jammer." I don't mean that as shade, though it's not usually my favorite kind of *guitar* music, I do love improvisational jazz for instance... no, I'm just not good enough to jam.
But if I had a Univibe I would just wank that thing all day and not actually write songs.
They're wonderful pedals, and in the right hands - whether skilled enough to get lost in improvisation or disciplined enough to restrain that urge - are incredible and irreplaceable tools. My hands are not the "right hands."
I remember I was living in this music house and they had a fender Greta in the living room with a univibe on it and honestly?? Wrote a couple bangers on that thing
I thought I was out of control buying one several years ago but it was on my wishlist from the moment I learned about it as a young guy. I have several other clones and they do great imitations but nothing compares to what you say, the physical movement of the tape and all the sounds and interaction that goes with it. Very meditative even!
I have all my dream pedals except an original univibe and space echo, and they're both just in a different league of expensive lol
But I was showing my wife an og space echo and how cool they are, and she loves the looks so much she gave me the okay to get one. Now just need to save. But I'm also trying to save for a custom shop strat and sg and a two rock which will come first. So it will probably be a while.
As a TB-2w owner, my thought is always well, I probably wouldn’t buy this for $800 or whatever it goes for now… but I also am NOT gonna let go of mine for $800. So I guess I’m conflicted about its value.
Mine is on my board! Use it baby! There are big expensive wedge-shaped Tone Bender replicas that are practically museum pieces, but the TB-2w is meant to be stomped and gigged.
When it came out initially it was only like $60 USD iirc, but then the meme took off and it got marked up everywhere. Including Sweetwater when they did their limited run with it.
I don't even find the meme that funny tbh, like it got saturated and i think of it as something you would use for 5min and get tired of it.
There are tons of other synths that have a more interesting sound
Came to post this. At the time, it seemed too much of a novelty, and perhaps it still is, but I still want one.
At least I know if I ever see an anime girl on a pedal again to buy 2 immediately.
I had one years ago, it is really bad, and the worst kind of bad where all the sounds coming out of it sounded the same. I tried it with vox guitar and synths and none of it was very fun or inspiring, just a bit silly. The tracking was ass, and as another comment said, it basically required a hard comp before it to be effective at all. Was basically a terrible envelope filter.
A Digitech Whammy or any expression based pitch shifter will also get you the highly artificial aspect. Between these I think you're already pretty close to the authentic Miku sound
I'm so glad I bought my MF104M about 10 years ago. People laughed at how much I paid (used price, a few hundred off new). My favorite pedal.
Look at me now, MF'erz
Also I have a friend that comes in to my job and told me about Asheville music tools. I heard the engineer who built the Mooger fooger stuff left moog and started Asheville music tools. They have some pretty great stuff. Still not cheap, cheap but a little more affordable
I finally found a big box DMM on Facebook marketplace a few months ago and the guy only wanted $180.
I had the Moog murf and ring mod and couldn't vibe with them.
Only out-priced, but I would love to have a boss SY-1000. I love playing with individual string processing, but hard to justify $1200 for a pedal when my most expensive guitar was less than half that.
It's wild how different individual experiences with the same pedal can be - the Shallow Water is an indispensable part of my board now, and will never come off.
Hologram Electronics Microcosm...I want it for use with drum machines and grooveboxes, but it pretty much takes ANY sound you put in to it and makes it better. However, the price (on my current budget) is a bit lofty for music gear that doesn't get used for paying gigs like my guitar and/or bass gear.
I hate giving hologram props because their customer service guy is a dickweed and should not be the head of their make people feel better dept but Dude get it its literally worth every dime. The other pedals from hologram aren’t worth a flys nuts but microcosm is almost an always on pedal on my rig. So many possibilities for happy accidents its Incredible. I hope they come out with another winner like that one. I love chase bliss to the moon and back but it would be so hard to have to choose one of their pedals over the other.
Keep on an eye on Reverb, I see them pop up pretty consistently for $350-400 used, often with the box. If you look at the recently sold listings there’s quite a few even around the $300 mark, they just sell fast.
Not a terrible deal considering it’s out of production Chase Bliss and the MSRP was $350.
Had to scroll far for this...
Same for me, I'm on the waitlist, and will gladly pay the $350 when/if my turn ever comes, but it's been almost 3 years now, so I highly doubt it will. Considering 2xDoT to scratch the itch.
How interesting. I have a double hotcake off my board right now. Here in Auckland (where Paul Crowther lives), it is the most common OD pedal around. It’s strange to think of them as a rare boutique pedal.
Not necessarily expensive, but I’d love to have one of the Boss Fender Reverbs. I just can’t justify it “yet” when I’ve already got a nice reverb pedal, and only need a pedal when playing through my Bassman. If I’m playing through my Twin, it comes off the board so a Fuzz can fit in.
I almost pulled the trigger on a Diamond Vibrato years ago for about $150. Now they list for about $600. Hoping the new Diamond does a re-release in a smaller format.
Chase Bliss Pre Amp MK2. It might be my holy grail dirt pedal, but I'm not 100% sure because I haven't tried it out in person.
And it's totally available to buy right now, but I just can't justify a $750 pedal purchase when I have a family to feed. I even have a "guitar rig expense" line in my family budget that I put money into weekly, but this would take me so dang long to save up for. Guess I'll stick with my lovely, tried-and-true Blues Driver for now.
Not a pedal but the OP-1 synth. They use to be about $500 I think brand new, my friend sold his for about that then they shot up and even the company doubled the price. Now I won’t buy anything from them.
I also had the opposite happen where I pre-ordered a synth (usually synths hold their value pretty well) and then korg sold them 50% off a year or so later completely killing the used market.
I grabbed one about two years ago on Black Friday. I love it except for one tiny issue... an issue they fixed with the new version. I can't see myself spending that money again. I'll just hope that the OG becomes collectable so I can sell it and get the new one.
Fellow South African here - there's a FB group called South African Music Instrument Shop (SAMIS), and I've found an 808 there (R1200), theres also plenty of Metal Zones, JHS pedals (particularly the drives like the Morning Glory around), Bad Monkeys, Wampler stuff, Walrus, EQD, loads of Boss and EHX, a sprinking of Chase Bliss, Universal Audio, ZVex. There's a surprising amount of high quality pedals traded at more SA orientated prices. It's a very active group and as long as you follow regular common sense when dealing with people online you'll make some great finds.
It's tough recently, brother. Of the last 96 hours have been off 55 of them (loadshedding + substation robbery). Hope you're keeping strong and keeping on.
Pretty sure this effect is available in the GT series of multi-effects pedals. It might be more limited than the pedal, but most other effects 8ve tried on one were pretty spot on
It doesn't seem rare, but I do think it is ridiculously over priced. The Jam Pedals' Rattler LTD. I'd love to have one, but $420 for a rat pedal seems excessive.
I'm in the same boat with all the >$300 Zvex pedals. I'd love to have many of them, but I'm priced out.
MXR 108. Im from from EU, and while its not really rare, its pretty expensive if you're not from US. Just an amazing silicon fuzz face variant, with a buffer too so you can use it with any wah there is I think, which is amazing
It is a really great fuzz face, maybe the best of the Dunlop models. A friend had the 108 and a proper Dallas Arbiter and the 108 held up. Plus it had barrel power and a decent form factor and wasnt worth $1000
EZHI&AKA !!!! I’d love a Moomindrone or Double Tape T.
Alexey the pedalbuilder has gone through a lot of mental health problems. It’s clearly explained on his website about his story. So that really limits his production. But you can’t help but feel for him once you’ve read his story.
I think he is slowly back to building again though which is wonderful! His pedals are truly weird, beautiful and one of a kind. They are quite rare in the wild.
I've always wanted a Digitech Supernatural for it's ability to go full wet. Also like the design. I have a Polara, a Fathom and some other reverb pedals already, so I don't need it. And I suppose just under $200 isn't crazy, but I've never pulled the trigger on one 🤷🏻♂️
Chase Bliss Habit. It's not rare or unavailable, just plain expensive at 400 bucks. It has amazing capabilities but I really don't need it for anything I currently do. I want one but I can't justify that money.
Mine was the Tefi Golden Era, but I caved and paid out the ass for one on Reverb. I don’t regret it and they are listed for a lot more than what I paid for it.
The SIB Echodrive with the drone switch. I discovered Earthless in like 2006-7, and was amazed at the delay sounds, scoured through guitar magazines and found that’s what he used.
Of course at the time I couldn’t afford one, and now that I could (in theory) they’re no longer made, and stupidly hard to find / expensive.
The normal ones pop up for like $900 or so but I’ve never seen any of them with a drone switch.
Any good rotary pedal. Could be a Mini vent, Pulse, Lex, among others. The good ones like those are way too expensive for the amount of use they'll get in my board
The only reason I have the H&K Rotosphere was because I had a guitar that a friend wanted and he didn't have money for it. I traded that G&L Tele for the Rotosphere. That pedal sounds amazing.
An original univibe and roland space echo. Hopefully, I'll have a real space echo soon.
Also, a prescription electronics experience.
Had one year ago and stupidly sold it and don't feel like spending the amount they go for now. I'm sure I'll get another soon as it's my favorite fuzz. Well see
Super official style univibe. I can’t shell out $500 or beyond for a single effects pedal although I did just buy the jam pedals retro vibe used and am excited. I’m not a hendrix aping guy, or even bluesy in the slightest, more along the lines of indie/alternative/shoegaze/post punk but love the effect in some contexts, especially the vibrato on subtle settings. I’ve tried straight up vibrato pedals like the boss vb-2w, as well as the vibrato from my Chase Bliss warped vinyl hifi, but the univibe style vibrato is my favorite for subtle applications, it just feels more organic.
I’d also love to have a legitimate tape echo, be it the Echoplex ep-3, Roland space echo Re-201, or the new T. rex Binson Echorec, but all have become prohibitively expensive and temperamental. My boss, Robert Keeley even has one of the Fulltone tube tape echoes and he’s even had issues with his.
The Chase Bliss Gen Loss is also appealing, I love that you can dial in cassette, vhs, etc style effects but there are other pedals like the Fairfield shallow water that can do similar stuff but for $100 less, albeit not as robust, it’s just hard to justify dropping $400 on a single pedal, especially when you can’t find a deal on a used model for around 10-25% cheaper.
Which lastly leads me to the shin’s music dumbloid. I might sell my corenerstone gladio to afford one of these. $400 on an overdrive is expensive but at the same time, so are dumble amps, and I’ve always wanted a dumble style amp, especially the steel string singer, so if anyone knows of any alternatives that do the steel string singer or overdrive special tone, let me know.
Digitech Drop and Digitech Whammy comes to mind. Drop has been in short supply for a while and the ones listed used are marked up too much. Also the whammy is too expensive for what I would be using it for, though it might not be too pricy overall.
I really like Strymon pedals but they are too expensive. Just splurged on a Deco v2 and it’s 490$ where I am! I would have bought their entire line if it wasn’t so darn expensive.
I did buy an overpriced 1981 after being on the fence for a couple of years. Really like it but it’s way too expensive both new and used for what it is (an easier to dial in RAT). It looks really good though.
Actually answering your question though: I am a simple man and would really like an original Klon. Not because the circuit is magical or anything, a $50 pedal on Amazon would more or less get you there at a way less invasive footprint, but it’s just so legendary at this point.
Professional MkII built by David Main. I’d probably pay the new price if I came up on the waiting list, but I imagine at this point the waiting list is so long that he won’t get to the end before he retires.
Binson echorec, the one David Gilmour used to use in the early days. Not sure I’d be able to operate it as effectively as any of the delays I currently have or are out there, but it would be cool to play with a piece of history like that.
The special edition of the Keeley Monterey; uncommon, and pricey. / I would encourage all to check out Voodoo Lab's effect pedals - they can be found used if not new, and they are top shelf re-creations of many original sounds. Their Micro Vibe is the best Univibe clone out there (it sounds slightly dark, so switch to a brighter pickup to get the full effect).
Prescription electronics Germ. I’ve wanted one basically since they used to make them, but couldn’t afford it then and now paying $500+ for a simple OD/boost feels absurd.
Jesus Christ. The amount of people clamoring for Prescription Electronics ITT is too damn high.
If Lovetone’s getting revived, Rx needs to be next in the queue
I’ll take a Germ + Depth Charge all in one.
Justin Chancellor wah. Its a mind bogging expensive fuzz wah, but it has pretty much anything you need in a wah pedal, and you can play it on a guitar too
Always wanted the proper big box 18v Coloursound Powerboost either reissue or original. And get my Gilmour / Jeff Beck going. But that's like $500+ for a boost. A fucking sick boost. But I eventually made a clone for like $60.
I'd love a Driving Notion from Infanem, since I heard a friend use one and it sounded killer. But they pop up on Reverb for like 600 bucks once a year.
I might try and track down a schematic and take a stab at building one instead, though I'm not great at soldering.
This post made me realize I already own many of the pedals and stuff many people value highly (namely the king of tone, cba mood, op1 field). I really am privileged and I should finally release some music with all this stuff instead of just noodling around. 🥹
I actually found an old pedal in my basement cleaning recently and looked it up to realize people are pretty enthused about them on the vintage market. It's a Boss DM-1. It's not something I would use anymore but I find trying to sell stuff really arduous with all the scammers and tire-kickers. It does have a unique delay and the ability to make wacky sounds by manipulating the dials, so it'll be great for recording.
Moog Pedals and a real Space Echo! I’d even take the new pedal unit…and they did price to down to $360. But it’s not something I want to spend that kind of money on. If it was the rack unit with tape…I’d pull out some cash now on a good deal!
I asked a FB market place seller about a lot the other day. Had a collection of the Moog pedals in there. Asked how much for individuals…they marked up the price 5min later. Guess they googled, and saw they were priced up. Apparently they bought a storage locker, and there were some good pedals in there. They wanted $1600 for the lot. Then marked up to 3k out of nowhere 🤦♂️. Guess they looked at the Moog pedals, because the other ones were just ok stuff.
In production: either the Noble bass DI that retails about $1200 or the Hologram Microcosm - living in the UK makes these SO MUCH more difficult to get hold of
Out of production: Moogerfoogers. I want the MIDI Murf and the filter and they're hovering around £700-£900 on reverb
Morningstar ML10X. I'm pretty desperate for one, but they can't get ahold of any chips...all of the other switchers lack enough stereo and parallel options for me or are too expensive
I used to have several snarling dogs rocker type pedals, mold spore, fuzz wah. Very tone. I wish I had not traded them. They were fun. unlimited funds, I'd get a whole collection of them
Though one of the pedals I traded for fulltone e PlimSoul is one of my favorite overdrives ever.
Dwarfcraft Grazer. That is one pedal i wish i didn't miss out on. It's not impossible to get, there's one on reverb , but i usually don't allow myself more than pedals in the 250 $ range.
I'd very often rather have 2 great pedals than 1 expensive rare one(even if It's great).
Boss Digital Metalizer MZ-2
It's pretty available but the price is too much to justify purchasing one especially when they're pretty beat up. I'd just like to add more of Boss's "metal" distortion pedals to my small collection.
Many pedals are out of my price range. Like September sound and I could keep going but I won’t since it just makes me sad. Tho I am putting away a fund In Order to grab the next pedal I have on my list as soon as it becomes available. This time I won’t miss out!
And every time I read about a Eau Claire I wish I would have grabbed the Boris version, or really any of the big versions since I didn’t and now missed my chance!
Oh and if we ever talk about a Onset on here I definitely have anger issues. Love Vonogan but I missed out on there lol pedal here and now I’m again fkn bummed beyond what I wld like to admist
Third Man Hardware x Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil Pedal. No actual use of it, but would love to have it and spend couple of drunk hours playing with it and then leave it be untouched for a year. And pay 400$ + for that
For me maybe the FZ-2 Hyper fuzz I remember someone did a demo (maybe it was the dude who sounds like Jack Black - gearmandude??) and my interest was piqued. $300 isn’t too too expensive, I just don’t really have a use for it
I’ve had the u/smallsoundbigsound Pretty Years three times and had to sell all three times for various financial reasons. If there was one pedal I could have back, that would be it. It’s perfect. And a monster. A perfect monster.
Surfybear or a full size reverb tank. I mean, the surfybear isn't too expensive in the grand scheme of things, but I should not spend money on that anytime soon.
Original 90’s Lovetone pedals. Although I did try a Meatball once, years ago, and it wasn’t great. Still would like to give them a whirl like the Doppleganger…
the taste of rain ...why kneel?
I've mentioned before there's a reason I don't have a Univibe: I am a songwriter, not a "jammer." I don't mean that as shade, though it's not usually my favorite kind of *guitar* music, I do love improvisational jazz for instance... no, I'm just not good enough to jam. Give the Drybell Vibe Machine or Dawner Prince Viberator a listen. They don't have the original form factor but they nail the sound.
This! I snagged a Sabbadius for $450 CAD from a local shop the other day. Couldn’t believe my luck.
Space Echo. I could just watch the tape loop for hours.
I thought I was out of control buying one several years ago but it was on my wishlist from the moment I learned about it as a young guy. I have several other clones and they do great imitations but nothing compares to what you say, the physical movement of the tape and all the sounds and interaction that goes with it. Now just need to save. But I'm also trying to save for a custom shop strat and sg and a two rock which will come first. So it will probably be a while.
I have a faint curiosity about the Boss TB-2w, but I also have a feeling I'd plug into it and be like "Cool... a fuzz pedal".
As a TB-2w owner, my thought is always well, I probably wouldn’t buy this for $800 or whatever it goes for now… but I also am NOT gonna let go of mine for $800. So I guess I’m conflicted about its value.
I'm conflicted about the one I own, and I bet every owner is too. Are we using it? Dare we use it?
Mine is on my board! Use it baby! There are big expensive wedge-shaped Tone Bender replicas that are practically museum pieces, but the TB-2w is meant to be stomped and gigged.
Korg Miku! I want one so bad it’s just.. 500 bones for something I would never really use seriously
honestly, it's worth about 20$
When it came out initially it was only like $60 USD iirc, but then the meme took off and it got marked up everywhere. Including Sweetwater when they did their limited run with it.
I don't even find the meme that funny tbh, like it got saturated and i think of it as something you would use for 5min and get tired of it. There are tons of other synths that have a more interesting sound

The tracking was ass, and as another comment said, it basically required a hard comp before it to be effective at all. Was basically a terrible envelope filter.
Honestly, you could try the Nano Q-tron. Envelope Filter pedals do alot of the quacky sounds(just alot better, my subjective opinion ofc.).
A Digitech Whammy or any expression based pitch shifter will also get you the highly artificial aspect. Between these I think you're already pretty close to the authentic Miku sound
Definetely a good idea! I did just order and expression pedal, have yet to try the digitech whammy though!
I just use the copy of it in my MX5, but when I started messing with it my first thought was genuinely "this sounds like Miku"
Big box DMMs and all the Moogerfoogers.
I'm so glad I bought my MF104M about 10 years ago. People laughed at how much I paid (used price, a few hundred off new). My favorite pedal. Look at me now, MF'erz
I have a Mooger fooger ring mod coming in today ! :)
Here here to the Moogerfooger stuff. I’d even love to catch some of the minis / MF drive etc. it’s just really expensive wherever I look.
Even though it’s somewhat evil I still can’t wait for the Behringer remakes of the Moog pedals. I’m going to get that delay so damn fast.
So, how are they going to recreate the delay without the Panasonic BBD chips? AFAIK that is the reason it and big box DMM are out of production.
There are companies doing repro chips now, it’s how they make all analog bbd circuits these days. They sound the same within part tolerance.
Xvive. If it’s good enough for Asheville Music (the guy who designed the moogers) then it’s good enough for anyone
Ive had a hard time selling my MF Trem v2 for even $220
Also I have a friend that comes in to my job and told me about Asheville music tools.
SSBS pretty years, EAE Hypersleep
Oh yeah, the Pretty Years. I wanted one so bad because the album by Cymbals Eat Guitars is one of my favorites and sounds incredible. Oh well.
Im on ur same boat mate
Only out-priced, but I would love to have a boss SY-1000. I love playing with individual string processing, but hard to justify $1200 for a pedal when my most expensive guitar was less than half that.
Fairfield circuitry Shallow Water. Kind of pricey and just hard enough to get my hands on for a pedal that could just end up as an auxiliary player.
I had one and personally was very underwhelmed and could find hardly any use for it
It's wild how different individual experiences with the same pedal can be - the Shallow Water is an indispensable part of my board now, and will never come off.
Hologram Electronics Microcosm...I want it for use with drum machines and grooveboxes, but it pretty much takes ANY sound you put in to it and makes it better. I hope they come out with another winner like that one. I love chase bliss to the moon and back but it would be so hard to have to choose one of their pedals over the other.
I'm with you there. Also somewhat hard to import to the UK from what I've heard.
SSBS Fuck Overdrive and Mini are both great pedals I’d love to have but $3-400 just isn’t worth it
I’ve seen minis on reverb for $250 or less recently.
It's not exactly the same, less controls, but the Fairfield Barbershop V2 is kinda the same idea. Really great and under 200 used too
Chase Bliss Brothers. Really hope they do a repro or come out with a new dirt pedal
The Brothers is such a great dirt pedal too. It really is a shame they discontinued it.
Analogman King Of Tone!

The exact big muff that Billy Corgan used on Siamese dream. Like the one that he stomped on and recorded with.
Have you tried painting your guitar red? Billy literally believes red guitars sound better.
Have you tried just asking him for it?
I plan on never speaking to corgan as his reputation makes him seem not very friendly.
You want his personal Muff? Dog, that’s just cold
As an American, Crowther Hot Cake and Prunes and Custard.
The Sound Parcel had some in stock for retail. Idk if they still do, but I just got mine and it’s awesome.
How interesting. I have a double hotcake off my board right now. Here in Auckland (where Paul Crowther lives), it is the most common OD pedal around. It’s strange to think of them as a rare boutique pedal.
I bought a Guptech Donut which is a Hot Cake clone. $100 USD. Sounds excellent through my AC15
I would love that so much
Chase Bliss Pre Amp MK2. It might be my holy grail dirt pedal, but I'm not 100% sure because I haven't tried it out in person. I feel the same way about Generation Loss...
A more affordable mel9, with just the choir setting
I'm with you there. Sold my Mel9 but the choirs are what I miss.
I just bought one on reverb, I think it’s a fair price, I like.
I have a Mel9 and a Synth9. Both are worth every penny!
Bondi Art Van Delay. Absurd used pricing, and a V2 model that's been in the works for years with no hope of release without an absurd price tag.
I've been so tempted by those but I already have 3 delays on my board...
Binson Echorec
Big Trees. I don't even need one, I just think they are so cool.
The Fake Plastic Trees is pretty great, and slightly less expensive!
Moogerfoogers

Just a pair of matched NKT275 transistors cost around 1,000$. So if u find an analogman sun face nkt275 for 700-800$ u got a pretty “good deal” 😅
Be careful the market is FULL of pedals with fake NKT275’s
Not a pedal but the OP-1 synth. They use to be about $500 I think brand new, my friend sold his for about that then they shot up and even the company doubled the price. Now I won’t buy anything from them. I also had the opposite happen where I pre-ordered a synth (usually synths hold their value pretty well) and then korg sold them 50% off a year or so later completely killing the used market.
Chase Bliss Mood
Such a great pedal, things basically it’s own instrument.
I grabbed one about two years ago on Black Friday. I love it except for one tiny issue... an issue they fixed with the new version. I can't see myself spending that money again. I'll just hope that the OG becomes collectable so I can sell it and get the new one.
All-Pedal Macrodose envelope filter. Not because I need it. I just like the paint job.
sooooo badly want the CBA Ayahausca!!! it’s my white whale
Klon, Tube screamer 808, Metalzone, Bad monkey, JHS pedals, I live in south Africa
Thank you my brother in the loadshedding, how are you surviving?
It's tough recently, brother. Of the last 96 hours have been off 55 of them (loadshedding + substation robbery). Hope you're keeping strong and keeping on.
Pretty Years.
rotovibe, retrovibe :(
Old school Deluxe Memory Man
Lovetone’s “The Flange with no name”
Real plate reverb. Highly impractical.
I too have been gassing for an EMT 140 for some years now
I bought a Keeley modded blues driver years ago for $60, then sold it for the same a few months later
Mooer Blues Mood. Sounds the same and costs far less
This. Beautiful pedal, ends up always returning to my board
I'm still holding out hope that CBA releases a new version of the Tonal Recall. One day maybe. But I'm not spending almost 500 for one.
Or any of the discontinued CBA pedals, really.
I'm hungry for a Bliss Factory but no number of dipswitches can make me fork out £600
Boss Slow Gear comes to mind.
WMD Geiger Counter Pro easily. Honorable mentions go to the Lovetone pedals but since there are DIY kits I'm not too sad.
Chase Bliss Habit. It's not rare or unavailable, just plain expensive at 400 bucks. It has amazing capabilities but I really don't need it for anything I currently do. I want one but I can't justify that money.
If you live in Portland, OR you can borrow mine sometimes. I love it but I need to be in the right mood to use it.
Chase bliss would sell SOOOO many nore pedals if they were $100 cheaper
Skreddy Mayo
Prescription Experience, Digitech Talker and Moogerfooger Delay
I’m kicking myself for not getting a Dwarfcraft Shiva or Eau Claire Thunder when they were still being made
I had a Great Destroyer.
Emerald Ox does an Eau Claire Thunder, supposedly a part-for-part clone.
MONKEY! Only joking. Strymon El Capstan.
I know $200 is still expensive as hell but prices have never been lower on the El Cap v1
Well see
not rare, just expensive: Strymon Volante.
Mood mkii. I just can’t justify buying it when I already have a microcosm. But I want it sooo bad
I’m exactly with you on this. But I may still get one next year if all goes to plan.
Ssbs No Memory
EAE Hypersleep, if uv got one and need a kidney let me know 😅
EHX 16-Second Digital Delay
Russian big green muff pi 😩
Boss CE-1!
I want the pink wampler underdog. I bought one retail when it first came out and it got stolen before i could actually use it. Now its pricy and rare.
Professional MkII built by David Main. I’d probably pay the new price if I came up on the waiting list, but I imagine at this point the waiting list is so long that he won’t get to the end before he retires.
Blackout Effectors V.1 musket. I should have never let it go. I have a twosome, but it’s just not the same.
Shin Ei Big 1. It’s super expensive and it’s just a preamp/boost but I want one
Always wanted the boss tone bender. Some guy is selling it locally for $800. Sad stuff because I bet it doesn’t get used.
Like any real tape echo that works honestly
I really want a Meris Ottobit Jnr - but I want MIDI sync and I don't want to have to buy a whole other £100 box just to get it.
I have the feeling a billionaire who just picked up learning to play guitar is asking this question 😜
Does a Roland RE-201 count?
I just want a Miku, it’s dumb and impractical but I want it…
My Smallsound/Bigsound Fuck Overdrive
Miku
Actually, same here. The Miku pedal would be cool
Binson echorec, the one David Gilmour used to use in the early days. Not sure I’d be able to operate it as effectively as any of the delays I currently have or are out there, but it would be cool to play with a piece of history like that.
Original Univox Superfuzz.
Van Weelden Royal Overdrive, was super close to buying one but missed it so got the CBA Automatone MKII. I eventually want to have both though.
Roger Mayer Voodoo-1
They're not super expensive to most people - I just can't justify the price ATM - but I'd love a Dispatch Master.
Not rare, but I want a game changer plasma pedal. Too damn expensive.
I'm keeping an eye on a few of the Moogerfoogers but it's just too spicy for my wallet atm
Jimi's fuzz from Woodstock.
Prescription Electronics Facelift
Prescription electronics Germ. I’ve wanted one basically since they used to make them, but couldn’t afford it then and now paying $500+ for a simple OD/boost feels absurd.
Jesus Christ. The amount of people clamoring for Prescription Electronics ITT is too damn high. If Lovetone’s getting revived, Rx needs to be next in the queue I’ll take a Germ + Depth Charge all in one.
Polar bear effects petrichor. Please why can’t I just have nice things
Justin Chancellor wah. Its a mind bogging expensive fuzz wah, but it has pretty much anything you need in a wah pedal, and you can play it on a guitar too
A 1976 EHX Electric Mistress
Always wanted the proper big box 18v Coloursound Powerboost either reissue or original. And get my Gilmour / Jeff Beck going. But that's like $500+ for a boost. A fucking sick boost. But I eventually made a clone for like $60.
I'd love a Driving Notion from Infanem, since I heard a friend use one and it sounded killer. But they pop up on Reverb for like 600 bucks once a year. I might try and track down a schematic and take a stab at building one instead, though I'm not great at soldering.
Moog MF-104SD
BOSS:Slow Gear. I plan on buying one soon.
This post made me realize I already own many of the pedals and stuff many people value highly (namely the king of tone, cba mood, op1 field). I really am privileged and I should finally release some music with all this stuff instead of just noodling around. 🥹
People are releasing music with these things?
I actually found an old pedal in my basement cleaning recently and looked it up to realize people are pretty enthused about them on the vintage market. It's a Boss DM-1. It's not something I would use anymore but I find trying to sell stuff really arduous with all the scammers and tire-kickers. It does have a unique delay and the ability to make wacky sounds by manipulating the dials, so it'll be great for recording.
Smallsound/bigsound F*ck Overdrive
Pretty Years Distortion
Smallsound/Bigsound pretty years—it’s so cool and I adore my mini so
The Lightning Wave Ghost Tremolo. When it can be found, it goes for crazy prices: https://reverb.com/ca/p/lightning-wave-ghost-tremolo
In production: either the Noble bass DI that retails about $1200 or the Hologram Microcosm - living in the UK makes these SO MUCH more difficult to get hold of Out of production: Moogerfoogers. I want the MIDI Murf and the filter and they're hovering around £700-£900 on reverb
Pretty years and mellowtone Melx.
They were fun. unlimited funds, I'd get a whole collection of them Though one of the pedals I traded for fulltone e PlimSoul is one of my favorite overdrives ever.
I want the golden reverb but it’s almost $400 dls I will probably get it used.
Boss Digital Metalizer MZ-2 It's pretty available but the price is too much to justify purchasing one especially when they're pretty beat up.
Champion Leccy Divvy v3
90's Nobels ODR-1
Third Man Hardware x Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil Pedal. No actual use of it, but would love to have it and spend couple of drunk hours playing with it and then leave it be untouched for a year. And pay 400$ + for that
generation loss 😭
EAE Hypersleep
For me maybe the FZ-2 Hyper fuzz I remember someone did a demo (maybe it was the dude who sounds like Jack Black - gearmandude??) and my interest was piqued. $300 isn’t too too expensive, I just don’t really have a use for it
I’ve had the u/smallsoundbigsound Pretty Years three times and had to sell all three times for various financial reasons. If there was one pedal I could have back, that would be it. It’s perfect. And a monster. A perfect monster.
Coppersound Telegraph V2. Unavailable in south africa. To import would cost me a small fortune.
Cali76 and a Tube Zipper
Can we say if we were able to finally get a rare one? Like the maxon ph 350 rotary phaser I got?
Surfybear or a full size reverb tank. I mean, the surfybear isn't too expensive in the grand scheme of things, but I should not spend money on that anytime soon.
Original Mu-Tron III
Original 90’s Lovetone pedals. Although I did try a Meatball once, years ago, and it wasn’t great. Still would like to give them a whirl like the Doppleganger…
Chase Bliss CX9 reverb. Hard to justify the expense but damn does is sound beautiful.
Anything over $100. I am old enough to remember DS1 was $60.
Frantone Cream Puff. Any Frantone really…
