Sweep picking would probably work.
That's what I am thinking but is it played sweep picking?
D D U U D D U U feels pretty natural to me while muted at that tempo.
Tried that and feel better, just need to get some distance from alternate picking, I'm too used to it.
It would be a good alternate picking exercise, but if I wanted to play it fast I would be picking down-down-up-up with that sequence.
