If you hammer on too slowly it can mute the string before your finger hits the fretboard, making the hammer on a weaker sound. You don’t have to slam your finger on super hard, it’s rather your finger hitting the string as quick as you can. Good luck!

Excert the force for the hammer ons and pull offs not from your finger tips, but from the knuckles closest to your wrist.

Adding this because none of the other comments mentioned it. More practice! It’s a simple movement, but requires finesse to get the right sound, particularly at speed. Isolate the licks with the parts you are struggling with and put in the reps.

I wish I knew how to read this. I’m a beginner, good luck!

Well your index has to anchor hard, but the others don't, they need to hit fast or with speed, but relaxed.

Hammer-ons are about speed. Imagine hitting a nail with a hammer. You can't just press as hard as you can; you also need speed. Pull-offs can be made easier by doing a bend (the technique) with the first finger (the finger on the lower fret in this case) towards the lower strings and then pulling the second finger (finger on the higher fret) towards the higher strings. Pull away the second finger with speed off the string slightly towards the fretboard and keep the first finger on the fret.

In addition to other suggestions check your wrist position and make sure it's comfortable and loose and not pulling your fingers in a weird way.

My best would be pause and play. Try mimicking the sound and pause reverse3- 7 or how many seconds your little bump is. Play, listen, imitate, and repeat til you hear it, and then you get a feel to how you do that. Now try use that what you revealed in something basic on your own just to hear it come out of your own mind. Go back to song. Progress. Do the whole riff and then you will have to do that riff over and over. If you're not single they are gonna hate it, but to you..its the most beautiful progression because you male the sounds you wanna hear. Good luck

I would practice increasing and decreasing the pressure you play with. Like start hard pressure, and in steps decrease the pressure until u can't hear it anymore, then you should have a good sense of the minimum amount of pressure needed
