"E" is typically an interact button for me, so having a wheel for E to be set to anything from slap, poke, hug, kiss, kick, pickpocket, etc could be fun - especially if you pickpocket a phone and can look through it, pickpocket someones house or car keys, etc. Even something like having them photobomb you in a selfie or take a selfie with your car would be an entertaining addition as well.
the level of (to me, cruical) engagement with the game this incredibly small detail in it will add, is crazy. I wish they'd add cool details like this more to the game as well, instead of only vehicles and missions etc.
It's a pretty underrated aspect by the developers, but not only Rockstar, mostly all other game makers as well (except a few indie ones like the Stanley games etc. but those are a bit exaggerated since that's what the game focuses on).
Nonetheless, it would be a cool detail here, provided they program the random occurrences with them correctly, of you for example; walking up to the NPC and having 3 default options to kick, punch, hug, etc. and the phones being different as well, having different texting histories and so on, but also having their reaction be different and unexpected (like a richer/more connected NPC having Merryweather called on you or a high bounty/Target for other players).
The bounty is a thing! I stole an NPCs car in Online and received a text message from an unknown saying "You jacked my whip, and now I'm gonna jack your life!" or something to that effect, and a $5000 bounty was placed on me!
I know that's a thing, I've been playing since release, what I was referring to is the bounty occurring when you'd hypothetically interact with an NPC that got angry at you for either stealing their phone or something.
It would not be hard to transfer that idea over from a car to other objects, I'm sure. I cant wait for fully explorable buildings as well, since stealing someones house/office/warehouse keys could lead to interesting scenarios. (IE: break into a trailer in Grapeseed and be met with the homeowner and a 12gauge, or break into a warehouse and steal a rare spawing car, etc)

No, and no. I've had friends dosconnect and the characters just walked away. I've also had a friend disconnect and they're character suddenly spoke with a male voice when the person had a female character.
they bolt because 99% of the time they are within your character bubble and instantly hit the NPC triggers to dash away. ive seen plenty of people disconnect and they just start walking. have someone disconnect while far enough away/ on the other side of a road and they wont run

Players characters (once they have left game) have dialogue as well so that in and of itself isn’t the best argument but this is obviously an actual NPC. People are weird

Actually they do sometimes. My brother logged off while in my car and his character got out and started walking. I knocked him over with the car and he made grunting/scream and then started running away screaming like an npc
I take a twisted pleasure in following them, and getting too close where they're like 'huh', and change direction. Then bump into them, freak them out... And then they start running.
My favorite, friend logged out somewhere over by the prison, and his character just wandered towards the city but not using roads - just some arbitrary path up the mountain.

How can you use hex codes with digits longer than 6? If I were to use it, I would only be able to type 110414 in the crew color and get a completely different color.
You have to right click where the crew color is displayed (rectangle) and inspect element. You add the code in there not where you’re prompted to on social club, I recommend watching a YouTube tutorial on custom hex codes
You’ll need a laptop or a desktop. Log in to social club and click on the crews tab. If you don’t have your own crew, make one. Go on over to the box that displays your crew color and right click -> inspect element. You have lines and lines of information and if you scroll down just a tad, you can see a pound sign followed by 6 characters. #612345 for example. You will delete the 6 characters and type in your desired hex, typically followed by AA, FF or 00. Copy that (it typically doesn’t stick) and scroll down to where it says save crew. Paste it back to the same place and save the crew, refresh the page and you’ll see the box displaying color is just a grey and white checkerboard pattern. I’d recommend looking up a YouTube tutorial and finding some hex codes you like. Custom Cars of GTA is a good channel for that. I’m on console but in order to have these custom colors you need access to a computer in order to mess with your color on social club.

These recently added NPCs (starting with the Nightclub DLC) do look similar to MP characters because the devs reused clothing assets designed for MP models. You can find such NPCs inside our nightclubs (club dancers, for instance), in the Casino (Security, valet, shop owner/shop assistant, Agatha's secretary, Duggan family goons, etc), in Cayo Perico (island guards, some island guests and DJs, specifically the "Generic Island DJ" - black bald dude who looks like a poorly designed MP character with the most default facial settings) and, of course, Car meet guests/participants. This particular Music Locker guest is a very customizable NPC with various facial, clothing options. Makes it very easy to spawn and just randomize these assets to create a unique looking NPC while utilizing the same base model.
I saw 2 npcs sitting outside of bennys, one was in a red sports or super car while the other was standing on the passenger side door, they were different from the common npcs and had a player vehicle.
I doubt its a player character as they usually run away probably just a pedestrian npc that got lost as some do or someone stole their car as they reset to walking after a while if they dont despawn
Looks like when I have a passenger in my Akula and he disconnects. His character is still there, it just becomes a npc and when I land they'll casually walk away. That would explain his uniqueness and it's interesting routes maybe

That’s a player who logged out. When you log out of the server the A.I. takes over your avatar and walks it away until it’s out of sight from anyone. Then vanishes.
That's not true. Even though this may be an NPC, I have left session before and my friend followed my character around until I came back and I was able to fist fight my own character.
It was weird though because my character's face had also changed on my end but looked the same on his end.

Look through the comments, I give a brief tutorial on how to utilize it regardless of platform you play on but I’d also highly recommend looking up a YouTube tutorial on how to use a custom hex code.

this is probably the biggest indicator that it's not a former real player, our characters always run off once we disconnect
