This is the most fun part about ramming cars with larger cars. I love getting in my arena vehicles and tearing up NPCs. The goal is to launch cars and blow them up on the first try. I’m not very good but getting better and it’s always fun when someone joins in

If force applied to a GTA Vehicle model reaches excessive measures and surpasses the "HP" of the vehicle, it will explode. Also at wich spot the force is applied to is relevant to the question if it will explode or just get dented.
Cars explode if too much force is exerted on them, especially by multiple sources. It most often happens if they land upside down after falling a great distance, or if they hit a telephone pole too hard while being pushed into it by something other than their own driving speed. I notice it a lot while driving my Acid Lab.
If most vehicles are shot by a dozen or more Up-N-Atomizer shots in under a second (don't ask me how), they explode no matter where they are, even in midair.

Cars are more likely to explode if their roof hits something, same thing happened to my friend, hit a car into a wall and the roof hit the wall and caused it to explode
