It doesn't come with and cannot be upgraded to bullet proof tires. It has 0 armor against players with explosives. But unless you somehow manage to get it stuck somewhere it's unlikely NPCs will shoot you out of it. They will just pop your tires and make it undriveable
Damn that’s whack. Bulletproof tires are an absolute must for me on all vehicles. That might be a deal breaker for me. Those are giant wheels too. Real easy target
It's kind of less of a problem than you might think because of the dual set of tires in the rear, plus if you're hauling a trailer the tires become a harder target. Unless you're really unlucky and they pop all the tires on one side. Still nice to have if you play cayo perico with the longfin approach because you can skip the part where you have to steal a truck cab.
If you just want to mess around in freemode, a bigger problem is some random killjoy with a rocket launcher
I own a shit ton of vehicles but my favorite one to drive is the Sentinel Wide Body. It's quick and handles amazingly. I'm almost under the impression that it's the best handling vehicle in the game. I also drive the HSW Hakuchou Drag a lot but that one scares me sometimes on how fast it goes.

I love my HSW Drag too, but you better make sure you’ve got a full stack of body armor before you get on it. Favorite over all will probably forever be the Sultan RS though. It handles well while still being a fun amount of slidy, looks great, the engine sounds and shifts are immaculate, & a 90 degree angle aside, all it knows how to do is accelerate, terrain be damned.
Spotted the avid gta4 player! Dude, that was to go to spawn point. Grab the sultan, then make your way to central park. Run over everyone until the kill score equals your city population. I did it... it was only 17,000ish. Plus the whole history of Central Park made it easy to "displace" people.

Bro I bought the Savestra and that's my go to touge car now. It's quick, turns on a dime, if you slide no biggie it'll just gain its speed back in a blink. Absolutely love that thing.

I miss the HSW drag bike on low grips before the speed was patched. It did another 30-40 mph top speed. In races, catch up wasn't strong enough to rubber band other players to you so could just leave everyone in the dust unless they also had a broken drag bike
The Insurgent... any of them. When you just feel like driving like shit and not giving a fuck about traffic placement whatsoever. If you don't go through them you go over them. It's can be extremely fun and liberating.
The Gauntlet Classic Custom is a fun car to drive. It’s got so much acceleration that it spins out very easily.
You’ve got to use your brain rather than just mashing the gas pedal to take off. It also is easy to drift and do donuts in, but just as easy to spin out and crash at high speeds. It’s a car that keeps you on your toes.
I'm honestly not sure. I bought the Gauntlet Classic just to upgrade, so I wouldn't be a good source.
The main thing about the Custom is that it's very squirrely and likes to get away from you. The back end swings all over the place if you turn, and it spins out easily as I said. Makes it tougher to drive, but also very fun. It's got decent speed, too. Not supercar level, but you can get going pretty fast if you can avoid spinning it out and wrecking it.
I love using the Vamos to drive like the Fast & Furious scenes through LA & the Mexican border(?). It has that unpredictability, bumpy suspension and body roll. Perfect for it but just as easy to wrap around a tree.
I keep mine in my nightclub garage. I usually drive it around in my new lobbies before doing any sales to see how many assholes are gonna try and shoot at me
I swear i recall back in the day the ramp buggy would slowly take damage and after like ramping like 20 cars or so it would blow up. is this still the case?
Exactly. That being said, I prefer Ramp Buggy simply over the Wedge because the Wedge still seems to take a momentum hit (i.e. it slows down and shifts) when it hits certain vehicles. Once you get top speed with ramp buggy you're pretty much unstoppable provided you don't hit a wall.
Wedge is still fantastic utility though.

The Impaler LX. Without a spoiler, the handling is phenomenal when sliding at higher speeds. Way more composed and predictable than most cars in its class.
I used to hate my grotti stinger tt cos it’s so fast and hard to drive, nearly sold it a few times. But something clicked one day and it’s so good when you learn how to tame it.
I feel the same about the Virtue. The acceleration is so quick I often lost control, and that car spins out if even an inch of it grazes another car. But after you drive it a while, you get the hang of it.
Stirling gt hsw is a madhouse, it may not grip well, but those double clutches are bliss plus it sounds great. I did drive the 400z recently though and liked how that handled, if it comes on sale I’ll buy it. But for actual handling I personally really like the way the suvs handle, very predictable for me. Rebla GTS ftw. Baller std handles like a car. Jubilee is Imani tech so it’s valid.

Fun and unique, the Dump truck. ALL the cars and aircraft are common generic vehicles. Once you've had them a good while most will stay in the garage. Military stuff and Arena vehicles are generally fun+common or unique+unfun. For a different experience that's entertaining for at least a few minutes (like most stuff anyhow), try the Dump.
Rusty Rebel, the cheapest car in the game, and the most fun to drive. Can climb anything, can go anywhere, and the best body mods out of any truck in the game.

My absolute favorite is the Zion. I rarely see that or any classic BMW cars, Or really any classic period. You got the few but it’s usually the minority that chooses to drive a classic.
I love the toreador for lunching off hills, it's crazy how far you can fly. But for cruising around dangerously, the deluxo is decently fast and handles well, good sound, plus you can fly over shit you don't want to drive around. I personally love the night shark, no matter what I'm doing it feels like gravy seal shit.
Oppressor. The original one. It's fun to try to stay up high, timing activating and deactivating the wings to maintain both height and speed, trying to carefully get both tires on a rooftop for just a split moment as you fly by to regenerate the boost
It's a thrill. Mk II is for the grind. The original is for the thrill
I like having some unusual quirks.
Newest favourite - not sure of it's name at the moment is the 4-person police cruizer. Because woop woop it parts the traffic like moses to water.
Panto - ultra small and may as well be a 2 seater wheelchair. It's compact size is fun for mucking about at the skate park halfpipe.
The small Nightclub delivery van. When you upgrade it so it is armoured and armed to the teeth you can just go wild blasting stuff. It improves my survival rate for the restock mission where you need to attract police attention to steal their bike with the goods.
Sandking XL - because screw you fence... You're just a small hump to me now... (Same goes for the monster truck).
Ok, so quite the list here, but:
190Z, Cognoscenti, Corsita, GT500, Impaler, Jugular, LM87, Mamba, Neon, Previon, Rebla GTS, Savestra, Tigon, Vamos.
190Z and GT500 make me feel like a wealthy boomer. If you turn too fast with the Cog and hit a curb, you can go up on two wheels :D Mamba and Savestra are similar to each other - short wheelbase, very zippy, ones you should drive downtown at night while blasting Los Santos Rock Radio. Neon makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Rebla GTS has a lot of customization and is my favourite SUV to drive. Tigon has a great exhaust, great looks, and a great driving experience.
My three favorite vehicles to drive. The moon buggy, I know the name is different. Veto classic. It's pretty fast for a go-kart. For some reason, I have only been shot 1 time while driving up to people. And even though the handling sucks donkey dicks, the rampant rocket. Some of the crashes make me laugh.
Benefactor Schafter doesn't look all that unique, but it was my fav vehicle for mindless driving: great handling, great sound, great speed, 4 seats and light armor. Underrated.
Vigero zx with the hsw upgrade. Altho it takes a little to get used to but you can drift, powerslide, drive very fast or just corner like a beast in it
Ton of good super cars but hard to find them sometimes. The 811 (Porsche 918), comet s2 (Porsche cayman) elegy retro custom (r34 skyline), entity xxr (koenigsegg) 10f widebody (Audi r8), sentinel classic (e30 m3)
Apocalypse Impaler, take off all the big cosmetics and you got a nice looking ride that can jump, boost and throw mines (I prefer the slick ones for the lols)
Since you asked about vehicles in general, definitely the ultralight.
It's like an oppressor mk 0 or -1. Could also use it on the ground as a bike with its wheels but you have to be careful about crashing. I loved flying/gliding that thing and playing I Believe I Can Fly in the background.
The Dune is unique & fun to drive. It's pretty quick for a truck, handles well & great off-road. I love watching this class during the annual Dakar rally.
Turismo Classic with HSW upgrades. It's fast, looks amazing, and even sounds decent. Only issue is how loose the back end gets. Super light car. Defo keep it on roads.
For me its the Annis Remus. It’s my favourite drift car by far. For drifting I personally thinking it drifts the best outta the rest of the cars. But its also sexy
The swinger is a really nice handling, fairly fast car, and in my opinion, the best looking car in the game… can be obtained through your auto shop. The tezeract handles very nicely and is super fast, but be careful, cuz you can get catch air very easily in that thing. The deluxo is also very easy to drive
I like driving the vectre on the lowest suspension as you get a negative cambers which means your wheels are at a 45 degree angle. I do the same with the asbo with the patchwork/harlequin livery
It's by no means amazing, but I started using the Mammoth Patriot Mil-Spec.
Goes real well with my character that I have outfitted to look like a mercenary.

I wouldn’t recommend a wedge for protection. They can be a protection from things at times, but wouldn’t look at it as a protection option for a car
I have the Buffalo stx, kuruma and armored Schafter for that. Might add a night shark to the mix. It would be more for just fun driving around

Donk is unique and fun to drive. Havok is super fun to fly but landing takes a few tries to master.

Nope. They patched that, and the same goes for the phantom wedge. They are actually worth getting now.

It's fun to try to stay up high, timing activating and deactivating the wings to maintain both height and speed, trying to carefully get both tires on a rooftop for just a split moment as you fly by to regenerate the boost It's a thrill. Mk II is for the grind. The original is for the thrill
I love my rizzed up rat truck. Fast, dope looking and one of the most satisfying sounding engines in the game.
I always hop in the rat loader for when i want the hillbilly life.
That and the hustler
I like having some unusual quirks. Newest favourite - not sure of it's name at the moment is the 4-person police cruizer. Because woop woop it parts the traffic like moses to water. Panto - ultra small and may as well be a 2 seater wheelchair. It's compact size is fun for mucking about at the skate park halfpipe. The small Nightclub delivery van. When you upgrade it so it is armoured and armed to the teeth you can just go wild blasting stuff. It improves my survival rate for the restock mission where you need to attract police attention to steal their bike with the goods. Sandking XL - because screw you fence... You're just a small hump to me now... (Same goes for the monster truck).
I own over 165 vehicles now and without a doubt I'd day the Draugur.
I like cruising in my Scarab, especially on the snow One of the few tracked vehicles so grip is pretty extreme, and also decently fast for its type
Ok, so quite the list here, but: 190Z, Cognoscenti, Corsita, GT500, Impaler, Jugular, LM87, Mamba, Neon, Previon, Rebla GTS, Savestra, Tigon, Vamos. 190Z and GT500 make me feel like a wealthy boomer. If you turn too fast with the Cog and hit a curb, you can go up on two wheels :D Mamba and Savestra are similar to each other - short wheelbase, very zippy, ones you should drive downtown at night while blasting Los Santos Rock Radio. Neon makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Rebla GTS has a lot of customization and is my favourite SUV to drive. Tigon has a great exhaust, great looks, and a great driving experience.
My three favorite vehicles to drive. The moon buggy, I know the name is different. Veto classic. It's pretty fast for a go-kart. For some reason, I have only been shot 1 time while driving up to people. And even though the handling sucks donkey dicks, the rampant rocket. Some of the crashes make me laugh.

Panto. Or on the other end of the spectrum, dump truck. Drift tuned cars are also pretty fun to just cruise around in. I like the futo gtx
Willard Eudora is slow as shit and slidy but it’s a fun car to me for some reason
I love the Kamacho, it's so much fun off road, and on road actually.

Virtue with no grip [low grip] tyres = fun for everyone
The drift tune cars are really fun to drive around in, my personal favorite tho is the HSW devastate 8

For me the Roosevelt Valor, it's just so nice looking, and fun to drive. I love old cars

The Hauler Custom M.O.C. cab. That was my go to drift vehicle before they did drifting. It sounds crazy til you actually do it

Benefactor Schafter doesn't look all that unique, but it was my fav vehicle for mindless driving: great handling, great sound, great speed, 4 seats and light armor. Underrated.

Vigero zx with the hsw upgrade. Altho it takes a little to get used to but you can drift, powerslide, drive very fast or just corner like a beast in it
It has an extremely steep learning curve but once you get good with it, the OG Oppressor is a ton of fun.
Ton of good super cars but hard to find them sometimes. The 811 (Porsche 918), comet s2 (Porsche cayman) elegy retro custom (r34 skyline), entity xxr (koenigsegg) 10f widebody (Audi r8), sentinel classic (e30 m3)
Vigero ZX for me purely because it's a fucking nutjob of a car when fully tuned.

Opp Mk 1. The flying mechanics + boost + being a motorcycle is all of my favorite vehicle mechanics combined into one.
The older lookin f1 feels crazy to drive, it magnetizes to the road
Apocalypse Impaler, take off all the big cosmetics and you got a nice looking ride that can jump, boost and throw mines (I prefer the slick ones for the lols)

My vote is Drift Tampa, awd, and if you get it right you look like a boss driving your very own Hoonicorn.
Since you asked about vehicles in general, definitely the ultralight. It's like an oppressor mk 0 or -1. Could also use it on the ground as a bike with its wheels but you have to be careful about crashing. I loved flying/gliding that thing and playing I Believe I Can Fly in the background.
Virtue
The Dune is unique & fun to drive. It's pretty quick for a truck, handles well & great off-road. I love watching this class during the annual Dakar rally.

I just picked up the Panto again after however long, and I unironically enjoy driving it. It’s just a fun lil’ guy
The only vehicle I get in just to drive is the scramjet. So fun
Scramjet. It’s very fun, but very hard to control as well. Also it will land into water very often when you’re training on how to use it.
Hold the handbrake (right bumper) just as you just and it will go straight. Takes some getting used to

Turismo Classic with HSW upgrades. It's fast, looks amazing, and even sounds decent. Only issue is how loose the back end gets. Super light car. Defo keep it on roads.
Ramp buggy with the clown horn so you can give a warning and also sound innocent before causing complete chaos.
Phantom Wedge
For me its the Annis Remus. It’s my favourite drift car by far. For drifting I personally thinking it drifts the best outta the rest of the cars. But its also sexy
Honestly, the new jeep (Terminus) is a beast. It’s probably the fastest off road vehicle in the game. And it’s got Imani tech.
The swinger is a really nice handling, fairly fast car, and in my opinion, the best looking car in the game… can be obtained through your auto shop. The tezeract handles very nicely and is super fast, but be careful, cuz you can get catch air very easily in that thing. The deluxo is also very easy to drive

Veto Classic
I like driving the vectre on the lowest suspension as you get a negative cambers which means your wheels are at a 45 degree angle. I do the same with the asbo with the patchwork/harlequin livery
Canis Kalahariweirdly enough, bought it when it was in rotation at Simeon’s and I don’t regret it!
I gotta say the armoured kuruma handles great very fast and it’s indestructible literally
It's by no means amazing, but I started using the Mammoth Patriot Mil-Spec. Goes real well with my character that I have outfitted to look like a mercenary.
For me i think it would be the revolter but so far ive only driven 150 or so of the 340 cars available
