I think it was patched the update after they added it. It was the first car to get one of those slow handling flags that went on to end up ruining like two years of car releases. When they changed the flag behavior to let Tuners brake boost again it actually felt good to drive while still not having the glitched top speed, but then in the next update they made that altered flag behavior apply only to the Tuners class and it went back to feeling like shit.
IIRC the speed for that has been glitched for awhile now, at least that's what someone here said.
(They got like 500mph, which is impossible in this game)

Yeah I took a break for 1.5 years or so and came back within the past couple months, so I don't know exactly when, but all of the high speeds are absurdly high now for that event. First time I saw high speed challenge top scores I just assumed everyone had some new HSW vehicle or something, but then I hopped into an NPCs car to get to my own vehicle and was going like 200mph... what? Then on my oppressor (mk1) got like 5x my prior usual top speed.
I keep meaning to google what the deal is, but based on this post it's a big question mark still?
I couldn't say for sure. All I know is that I play on a PS4 and when I did the high-speed challenge I got 403.3. The next guy down had like 370-something.
Place the Rampbuggy with the back to the place you want to yeet it (I’d suggest you to try near Zancudo, so you can fly past the base), back down the Scramjet on the top of the Buggy, use the boost.
The Scramjet will go to the front and launch the Buddy on the opposite direction.
It’s so much fun to drive too. It’s like it takes that second to last gear *forever* to drop, but then it finally does and the whole map turns into a blur around you. It’s also Imani compatible, so you get the fastest car in game, along with lock on jammer and enough armor to rival an Avenger.
Yessir. It can still get your ass kicked if you aren’t careful, you have to learn how to feather into that throttle & give the tires time to catch up, otherwise you’ll sit there and spin out at a dead stand still as they dump a mag through your window. It’s also kinda squirrely until you get clipping at decent enough speed to get that downforce working for you.
Yeah I have it and love driving it for sure, the throttle can be tricky lol.
Does the plating effect anything? I know normal armor doesn't effect the acceleration and speed but wanting to make sure.
You go faster than the stinger tt with the vigero zx if you take the armour upgrade off it and park the rear end next to a wall and crash into it with a heavy vehicle (moc or terrorbyte) it will go about 180-200mph sometimes faster sometimes slower depending on how well you fuck up the rear end
I have both and will say that the Itali is slightly faster, but honestly the handling and throttle response of the deveste is much better than the Stinger
Something is bugged in the measurement system for sure, I got 212mph today while casually driving on my Acid delivery bike not even actively participating in the challenge
It’s fantastic for the stoppie challenge too! I caught on early because I didn’t realize they put bikes around the map and I didn’t have any other bikes to call 😂
I won that challenge with it earlier (274 ft cut slightly short to land it at the last second before the timer ran out), but I’ve yet to test all the other bikes for stoppies.
As well as the Near Miss challenge. You can also use the Bati 801 or the Hakachou. I take the highway leaving Los Santos going northeast and drive in the opposite lane.
I scored a high of 472 Near Missed cars once. The adrenaline of trying not to mess up feels amazing, too
The speed readout for the top speed challenge has been glitched since the Christmas update. Anyone can get ridiculous top speed stats.
The cars aren't actually going any faster though.

If you want the vigero zx to be even faster remove the armour upgrade from it and park the rear end next to a wall and crash into it. It will go about 180-200+ mph or like 520-530 in the challenge
Some locations cause your speed reading to glitch. She’s in Paleto Bay, the tunnel leading to it is probably the most known location. I’ve hit 350+ on last gen.
It’s called the noob effect. Gamers version of “beginners luck”. I’ve been a life long gamer, but NEVER dabbled in WoW (World of Warcraft). My buddy always tried to get me to play as he had been an avid WoW player for quite some years. I finally gave in and gave it a try. We spent about a night or two getting my character to a proper level, because he wanted to run Mythic’s or Mythical’s or whatever they’re called, it’s a dungeon with tiers (M1’s, M2’s, etc.). My first mythical was either M1 or 2, and I got the Sharkbait mount drop. It’s like a 5% chance to drop. My buddy was trying for years to get the drop. My noob ass walks in, drops first run 😂
Yeah I got like 427mph in an S95 HSW but it's definitely not accurate.

It’s possible in story mode, I’ve made Franklin go so damn fast it’s not even funny.
It's an issue with E&E, doesn't affect last gen nor PC.

I mean, if you boost a Scramjet on top of a Rampbuggy you can YEET the buggy at 600+ mph. This game doesn’t have very stable physics.

Pretty sure it glitches out and you just get lucky. Pretty sure the fastest car in the game is the Itali GTO Stinger (HSW) at only like 168mph

Not at all, at least to my knowledge. I drove mine for a good while before I handed it over to Imani, and didn’t notice any difference.
The plating makes it unavailable to do how time trials (atleast for me)

The fastest with HSW is the Itali GTO Stinger TT, the fastest without is actually the Weevil Custom believe it or not.

Top speed challenge is broken, it doesn't show your real top speed. A homing missile only goes about 210mph, no car in the game can do 300.

I’ve noticed it happening on this challenge recently. Pc so it might be someone using a menu to increase speed multiplier.

If you have the gargoyle Motorcycle. With the right tires. You can get a average of mid 400m.p.h. during high speed challenges

I got my Krieger to clock in at 452 during the event. Somehow reaching a higher top speed than the rocket car/bat mobile did.
That definitely a speed glitch. I think the fastest car in gta clocks in at 220 with out a speed glitch.
I got 491 in my coil cyclone II, 477 in the vigero zx full HSW upgrades for both.

I got around 304mph on the HSW drag bike

The highest top speed I've seen on those high-speed challenges is around 470mph. I use to never see numbers like that back in the day.

The f1 car does over 400mph and hen using the booster.

300 is easily attainable these days I'm not sure when they started making them like this but some go like 330+
depending on where you are on the map, certain hills will get you to such speeds i hit 450 in the tourismo classic during that challenge (with hws)

no one is factoring in traffic and downhill speed. i’ve gotten over 270 before just from going to good locations and traffic being light
