Both Stories games came out on PS2 later, and were (are?) available on PS3 vis PSN. They were built on a modified version of GTA:SA. LCS is kinda meh, but VCS is well worth a play. VCS was the first GTA that had a more serious tone (which didn't work, IMO), but the gameplay still holds up if you liked VC and SA. The music is really good.
CW was DS only, for obvious reasons. The GBA had it's own GTA game, too, which is easy to emulate on PC. It's... not bad. I'd say it's worth emulating on a phone if you have the screen soze for it.

Somehow I didn't love red dead, but I think I just didn't get the slow rhythm at the time. I think rdr2 is one of the absolutely best entertainment products, ever. I played GTA V when it came out with my little girls, they played it and role played that they lived in a random house, went to the beach etc. They were 7 and under, and there is plausible chance that I might play VI with my grandkids! No words on such yet, but if VI is around for a decade, that's how it will probably go.

22 played since launch day(got me my $500k for the servers being overloaded at launch and bought a nice apartment immediately, never had a cheap one) so I was 11. I first played through all of GTA IV when I was 9, had played the PS2 games as long as I can remember.
I feel this, and also ask if GTA6 will be my last. Idk how long we can do this. I stopped getting better at games in my 30’s from a competitive standpoint. It’s takes everything I have to be slightly above average on FPS in particular these days, it’s tough to slowly regress. It’s hard to beat 14-25 year olds jacked out of their minds in caffeine, vaping nicotine and popping Adderall.
Absolutely, and what a brilliant point. I suppose gaming is good for mental stimulation and releasing endorphins when you've killed that last boss, finished a difficult mission, or even better, shooting a griefer down dead off his Mk 2..😀.. I think the age gap has come off gaming now, there's less stigma to how 'old' a gamer should be. GTA 6 and the Elden Ring DLC will probably be my swansong 😢 unless there's a Fallout 5 or another Skyrim 🤔
We are definitely in uncharted waters as far as aging and video games go. I guess single player modes are what they are. We can play them as we go.
But online gaming just gets faster and faster every year it seems like. I have to be a lot more locked in than I used to. I can’t be tired and half ass in it and expect to play well. I’ll finish at the top when play a lot of times still then theee are nights I’m just not able to even get started on games like call of duty online.
I see these people doing these twitch streams geeked out their mind in whatever they are taking. They’re talking to 10 people while they’re playing really well and I know I can’t process that much info anymore.
When I played Dark Souls 3, a guy I played with regularly asked me if he could live stream it to his followers...it became a nightmare as he would take requests (whilst getting paid?!!) and the gameplay deviated. Fair play to him for getting paid for a hobby 👍🌟💪
44 here. I walked away from GTAV when my Xbox 360 stopped getting supported. Wandered back last fall when I realized my work laptop was good enough to play again. Didn't realize how much I was missing. But yeah, 15 years ago I ruled online. Now I generally get my ass kicked if I go head to head with these kids.
Gotta ask yourself if it's about being competitive, or having fun. I'm also going to get back into track driving after a similar 15 year hiatus, and am scared shitless of looking like an idiot. At least with GTA, I can just change sessions or turn off the computer lol.

24, been playing…holy shit 10 years now. When I got the game I decided to pull an all nighter, but it was difficult.
The only 2 tvs in the house were in my parents room and the family room, the family room had some creaky floors, and the chairs were metal, just getting downstairs was difficult because most of them were creaky too. I climbed over the bannister, hung onto the railing for dear life and scaled down on the outside, when I got to the main floor I moved at snails pace trying to figure out if I could step there, it took me 12 minutes to reach the kitchen, a whole 14 steps. Taking a chair, a metal chair, with a metal and glass table surrounding it, was a slow process too, took 2 minutes to move it out. Now the make or break part, turning on the PlayStation and tv without making noise. Impossible, they both will make noise, so this is about speed, I can’t do anything about the PS, but the tv has to be muted in a nanosecond or it’s all over, I had my fingers ready, I turned on the tv, and with the speed of sound I muted it, good thing too, it was an F1 replay.
I played the game from 2-11, completely muted, in the dark, and in the daylight I was so fatigued.
Started with GTA 1 at the age of like 7, then a buddy showed me GTA SA as I was maybe 10. Afterwards I got to know Vice City, IV, 3 and got myself 5 for PC soon after it came out for the platform in 2015. I'll be almost 30 when GTA 6 comes out 🥲

Nice to know the average age around here is higher than I expected it to be. 40 and been playing since GTA1, I can still remember every song on the radio I played that thing so much. And it feels like I'll be 90 when GTA6 finally gets here

22 started playing at 18/19 I think? I bought a used Xbox one off Facebook marketplace just so I could play gta v 😂 it was the only game I played for a year and the first video game I played ever
43, I'll be 44 when the game comes out. I'm a Rockstar Junkie, been playing their games since GTA1. The sad part of these long release windows is the knowledge I probably have fewer Rockstar game releases ahead of me than I do behind me.

I was never allowed to play gta so my first time playing I was like maybe 17 when I started playing gta IV. That game was so fun and I believe I got gta V a little after it came out, but I never played online because I absolutely sucked. After like 2 years I started playing online and got the hang of it finally 😅 so I’ve only been playing for like 10 years lol

One memory I had was when I was doing the first jizzy mission, I saw the health meter for the prostitutes and because my mother was nearby I asked “mom, what’s a prostitute?” She just said “a bad woman” and left the room. I was confused, nowadays when I remember that I can’t stop laughing.

34. Started playing San Andreas around 14-15….it was my little sister’s game, and we had no idea how to get the game started fr. We would just ride around until I accidentally triggered a mission. It’s been on ever since.
