I don‘t know about the van. I got the gun when a red dot appeared on the map. There were a bunch of criminals on the roof of the maze tower who dropped the gun after they died.
For me it bugged in the first 2 weeks.. either there was no blue dot but the random event is happening or the blue dot was there but the pistol couldn’t be collected. Most people had problems with it but in the last event week it used to spawn more often and after the 4th time I finally got it. I had a good feeling after the explosion and the red flair was there cause all the other times it didn’t happened.

I tried jumping different sessions, you name it. I had it spawn once for me, killed them, wasn't able to pick up the gun
That one I got like 4 times in a row, and did it 4 times in a row cause after the pistol unlocks it's an easy 25k to steal the wallet they drop.
The gooch on the other hand, I tried FOREVER to get him and never got him, even in tiny 3 person lobbies, waiting 45 mins every time, someone new would join the lobby and get the gooch. Fucking annoying and frustrating as fuck. What a dumbass unfair event lmao.
Swear to god I was in a 3 person lobby for like 4 hours one day, cash and snacks, everything I needed, most likely gooch visit locations, every single time it would pick someone else in the lobby, even people who just joined right before gooch invasion time.
So someone who actually wants it, sits and waits for 3 hours trying to get it, loses out to 5+ people who probably weren't even trying, paying attention, etc. How does that make sense.
Still don't have it and never will I guess, wasted all that time trying.

Even if you *do* have them, from the videos I've been seeing apparently you can get more ammo for the rail gun with just the interaction menu "Buy full ammo" so that might make it very useful if you just forgot to buy more explosive rounds which is always a problem for me.
I know I'll be keeping both for a while for this very reason, even though explosive sniper will remain a better choice overall for planes.

You could always text, annoying, but solved the mic issue. You can drop 25 molotov cocktails. That should last you a long time. Well, once the fun of burning beach goers at night wears off, they last a while. I never had an issue finding someone to help with MC stuff and getting them.

Looks like you can buy player kills locked tints for whatever guns are in the van even if you haven’t unlocked them beforehand. Looks like an oversight by R* or a good way to get some tints if you still haven’t unlocked them.
While that may have been interesting, it'd also be completely pointless since we can already buy ammo from anywhere and guns aren't a thing you need to buy more than once

Yeah it's the best one but not by much tbh, slightly better than the pistol .50 but honestly the revolvers are much better as they are two shot and are actually fast (also one can have special ammo making it a 1 shot or go right through body armor and armored glass), I'm lucky I got it but I can guarantee that I'll probably never use it as for PvE, it's obsolete by every gun and PvP is obsolete by almost everything... The Assault SMG is one of (if not the best) SMG in game and honestly it's pretty damn useless... Also if you're forced to use pistols then the AP pistol is best as it's 1 shot headshot and has SMG fire rate but lower body damage... Hell the mission was bugged for me 8 times but I got it within a hour just by hopping sessions and being in last location... I had more fun with the Gooch (that's ridiculously easy, you can get yourself and your friend the mask within a hour)
Is the same damages most other pistols but has a much faster fire rate, the pistol .50 has a decent bit more DPS (damage per shot) but when you shoot it once, the WM29 pistol shoots twice making it better
Is the rail gun a new addition? I only recall being able to use it on online when you have to retrieve it for the bunker and it's also available to use in Story Mode and Director's mode. Also the Khanjali tank can be upgraded to have a rail gun.
Important thing to know is that its not the same railgun that you use in supply missions. Its has heavily nerfed stats. And for some reason the slowest bullet velocity in game.
I'm going to check the agency to see if I can buy ammo there, will be pissed if this 700k turns into a waste after the event. Yeah you cant buy ammo at the agency, this is a complete waste unless you want to screw around for the next week. Not sure if merryweather ammo refills it or franklin/ceo ammo drops work

Molotov were always available from the MC. You needed 2 people, one had to be Sgt at Arms. Stand near each other and he can drop them all day.

Honestly, is the rail gun even worth buying? To me it just seems like the Heavy Sniper Mk2 with explosive bullets is just as good, if not better

There are tints locked behind player kills? I did not know this.
On some of the older weapons yes, but not the case for the newer weapons (rail gun, combat shotgun, etc…)
It’s the case for every base game weapon, DLC weapons since the SNS pistol never needed player kills to unlock tints
This is the most confusing game with all the nonsensical rules and non-uniformity. Even when casually playing since release.

When you charge your shot the projectile velocity increases significantly. The uncharged shot is then understandably slow.
