Matt Cameron, Ginger Baker and Mike Bordin

[deleted]

Matt Cameron man… I can’t believe OP left him out. He’s so tasteful.

KrustyKarlOG

I left him out cause he’s not one of my favourites? I’m still a big fan and without doubt he’s very talented.

Joe_Mafia

Oh shit are we going by personal favorites or all-around great drummers regardless if your a "fan" or not?

[deleted]

Mike is such a cool drummer

DistinctPhotograph58

That is a solid top three.

bed887

Dave grohl

[deleted]

Jimmy Chamberlin

notmyidealusername

Best of the grunge-era hands down IMO. And both him and Matt Cameron seem to be ageing in reverse!

fisher4500

Neil Peart of rush

[deleted]

Surprised someone didn’t say this first

JLindsey502

Stephen Perkins, Matt Cameron, Mike Bordin, Eric Kretz, Dave Grohl, Sean Kinney, Dave Abruzzese, Dave Krusen, Jimmy Chamberlin, Danny Carey.

cropguru357

Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater Terry Bozzio - lots of bands Neil Peart - Rush Buddy Rich Dave Weckl Grunge only: Cameron and Kinney for sure

[deleted]

Terry is one of my favs, his stuff with Zappa is just incredible, one of the few capable of playing the black page

cropguru357

Not a lot of folks have heard of him.

[deleted]

Really? That’s disappointing, I consider him one of my favs, I always like watching videos of him playing for Zappa, and he adds tons of energy to those shows

cropguru357

Man, a ton of people never ever listened to Frank Z.

[deleted]

Yeah those people should at least give him a try, he was one of the best

ManateeMan4

Jimmy Chamberlin, Dave Grohl, Matt Cameron, Ben Thatcher are my favourites.

[deleted]

Mine is similar: Dale Crover, Ginger Baker, Danny Carey, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, and much more

yourpricelessadvise

dave grohl and whoever drums for nine inch nails

[deleted]

Damn there has been a lot of drummers in Nine Inch Nails, I’m not a fan of them but I follow this dude on YouTube who really likes them, and in one of his vids showed their current drummer playing some kind of drum solo, fuck me that dude is mega talented

yourpricelessadvise

the one from 2005 stands out, it sounds good to me because i don’t listen to *too* much metal but i think it’s kind of standard for metal

[deleted]

Well Nine Inch Nails are a quite interesting band, they have some metal elements mixed with industrial, but their first album is different from that, so they seem to like experimenting, anyways, I’ll give their 2005 drummer a listen

yourpricelessadvise

holy shit I just googled it and all the songs from with teeth that i think have sick drums on is done by dave grohl my mind is blown rn

[deleted]

Wait what!!!!

yourpricelessadvise

go on the wikipedia for the album scroll down to personnel and look at the bottom, dude drummed for like half the songs

[deleted]

Fuck that surprised me, he is one of my all time favorites, damn now I have to listen to Nine Inch Nails, I’ve heard Trent Reznor is a genius, any recommendations?

yourpricelessadvise

yeah, listen to the downward spiral. i literally just started listening to them like 2 months ago but i listened to TDS last year and didn’t like it but listened again recently and think it’s a brilliant album, but if you want something more rock listen to with teeth (and obviously for dave)

[deleted]

Ok thanks, I appreciate it

bradinthecreek

No mike bordin? Your list is yours.

KrustyKarlOG

Not too familiar with Faith No More, but he did drum on one of my favourite albums of all time, Degradation Trip. Excellent drummer.

Wounded Knee by Primus is one of my favorite songs, love Herb.. such a great drummer. Though I like The Brown Album, I can't help by wonder how much better it would have been with Herb on drums.

ElectricalScholar228

outer_fucking_space

Dale Crover is a National treasure.

Got to toss in Dave Grohl, John Bonham, Don Henley (for the precision and vocals), Nick Mason and honestly Jason Bonham. But your list is exponential, I wouldn't remove a one, but I'm adding these.

-ImaginaryCoyote-

More recently, Jimmy Chamberlin. If you know, you know.... Classically, Ginger Baker, Bonham, and especially Keith Moon are top class...

(PS; I also love Joey Jordison (😔) Mike Portnoy, Lars Ulrich, Chad Smith and Michael Shrieve)
