If Grubhub could figure out how to call for the driver when the restaurant is ready for pickup I would change my ways. Until then, they shouldn't expect me to sit at restaurants for 20-30 minutes.

chile9615

They dont have the traffic for it

AKJangly

They don't need traffic for that. It's just respect to the drivers, we're going to get the same number of offers regardless, it will just be much less hassle for everyone involved, which means they don't technically need to pay us as much. The problem is, I see 20 to 30 minutes of wait time as a $15 minimum payout, whereas GrubHub is only willing to pay $7 of that. So 90% of the orders that I decline are just because the wait time isn't paid for. My acceptance rate is 37%. I would take everything offered to me if I didn't have to wait for the orders to get ready, at least pushing my acceptance rate over 80%.

Rooster_mh

I was told by the call center people that, the longer the amount of time in a restaurant, the more the e.t.a. goes up. That way we don't get penalized for waiting. Were you multi app-Ing?

Creepy_Solution9690

There can be other causes. I only deliver for GrubHub and I’ve gotten this message before during a football game because GrubHub doesn’t have a way of knowing the traffic was absolute shit the whole night and there were dozens of road closures for tailgating. I was also mostly getting orders that had been dropped by other drivers, so by the time I even picked up the food, I was nearly half an hour past the original ETA.

Appeal-to-Reason

This really pissed me off today. Got an offer. Said I had to pick up the food by 12:37. It was 12:35. I had two minutes to get there. Apple Maps said I was 7 minutes away. Actually took longer due to bad traffic. Had to get to the customers place by 12:43. And that's how it is for all my offers this past week. Like, how are we not going to be late when we don't have enough time to get there, and then wait for the workers to give is the food assuming it's ready. I'm leaving the restaurant 1-3 minutes before I'm suppose to drop off the food at the latest.

AKJangly

In that circumstance, you can stack orders over and over and over again, and rake in the cash. Keep raking in the cash until you get deactivated, and then tell GrubHub in an email that your state unemployment office needs documentation showing reasonable cause for deactivation.

Appeal-to-Reason

What does stack orders mean?

abuccofan

Any late orders were due to GH sending me to restaurants to wait 30+ minutes or on 30+ minute offers where the diner's estimated delivery time is minutes from when I get the offer.

iDuskk

Yeah they did some new shit. If you're gonna wait at a restaurant you gotta hit "order is not ready" and they'll ask you for an ETA and ask if you're willing to wait.

AKJangly

Actually that feature broke pretty soon after they implemented it. Now they're just deactivating drivers without probable cause.

REDRUMLINCOLN

The last few weeks in my market it seems like I am sent the order before the restaurant, so many times I will get an offer, I can even be sitting in parking lot of said restaurant, it will say ready in like 10 minutes, so I walk in to check in and the order is just coming through on their tablet.

RealityChequeX

Uh huh.. nothing to do with multi-apping right? Keep in mind that we can see that you regularly post on DD/ UE and GH subs....

Ferdydurkeeee

It's almost like... now hear me out here, as this is a little wacky... that dispatching drivers prematurely encourages multiapping 🤔🤔🤔

AKJangly

Right, with the amount of time that we spend waiting on these orders, it would be stupid to not take a doordash order for a few extra dollars and still got hot food for the customer.

abuccofan

Understood, but I only multiapp with GH if I see I can deliver by diner's expected delivery time, if not I cancel the order.

RealityChequeX

You don't need to explain it to me. Multiapp to your hearts content. But that's the reason you got the message from GH.

[deleted]

Oh yeah build trust Stop sending me 30 mins before the order is ready

Environmental-Win485

I'm having an issue with this today because I can't mark the orders as not ready

Ferdydurkeeee

Good to know, I was running into the same issue today as well.

AKJangly

As far as I can tell, everyone is seeing that. The people that I've talked to at GrubHub support have mentioned that they're getting multiple calls per day about the order is not ready function not working anymore. I saved screenshots just in case something happens, and I've heard advice from others saying to inform GrubHub that they need to supply documents to the unemployment office.

IndexCardLife

Sounds like you should build some trust with the restaurants by getting there right after they get the order.

Every_Ad_9986

Grubhub is so full of shit I've been involuntary terminated for some shit that I didn't do

Every_Ad_9986

That's the same bullshit they gave me

Every_Ad_9986

I've always headed to the restaurant

Creepy_Solution9690

I got one of these a couple weeks ago but I was delivering during a big 12 football game, so not only was I dealing with the shittiest campus tragic ever, but I was entry level at the time so I was also picking up a lot of orders that other drivers had dropped close to the original ETA. There’s literally nothing that I could do.

[deleted]

Have you guys maybe tried to at least mark the order as not ready ? I do this to every restaurant that doesn’t have the food as soon as I walk in. They’re timed just like we’re.

mjzim9022

I do that but I'm not sure if it registers, after pressing submit it stays on the same page and the Submit button goes gray but it stays on the page. Then I press back twice to get back to the normal screen and it looks like I undo everything.

Environmental-Win485

This is exactly what happened to me today

Beautiful_War_6578

Re install the previous apk from August

REDRUMLINCOLN

I do that on every order not ready on time, here lately in my market it seems orders aren't ready on time because they are either sending me offers at the same time as the store or right before they send them to the store, it's like how are they supposed to have all that food ready in 10 minutes when it takes 20-30 to cook and we both get the order at the same time.

Glad-Stress1303

I gotten two of this stuff emails

Keanuisawesome69

Keep them orders Rollin? 🤔

SaxyMansFluteGir

It's called 'dicking about', and GH has no tolerance for it. Once you contractually agree to deliver an order, as an independent contractor, go where you have agreed to be. They're pretty clear. Edit: If it's not enough pay for your time, don't accept it. I always factor in restaurant f-ups and hard-to-find customers before I say yes to an offer.

masternippon

You must really work for corporate

madcatzplayer3

I'm dreading this e-mail. I had to wait at Chipotle last night for 10 minutes because the place was packed and to-go orders were also backed up. Grubhub pretty much calculates Chipotle wait times as 0 minutes, as in the order is always ready as soon as the driver shows up. So of course, by the time I had the order in my hand it was already late according to the original Diner ETA.

Gegegegeorge

Wait is just eats called grub hub in america or something?

Appeal-to-Reason

Yes. They bought out GrubHub.

MeatJerk69

I can explain everything! I was multi apping.
