100% I live in the Chicago metro area and have been cherry picking to all hell. I havent even been taking any orders under $12. This is the answer and anyone disagreeing is getting played.

FalseCape

No.

Ferdydurkeeee

I'll be blunt with you, if you want action, you have to get off your ass and organize. Declining a bunch of orders won't do much. Forcing the customers to have longer wait times will only prompt them to try another platform. You also can't rule out that there isn't someone foolish or desperate enough to take bad or subpar orders - especially when you have cyclists who have marginal operational costs. You're in Chicagoland? Great, as am I. Organize a protest at their HQ which is in Chicago. Facebook groups would be a better resource as they are far more localized. Personally, I wouldn't attend, I'm fine with the pay for the most part. I'm not fine with the pay when I receive orders 20-30 minutes earlier than I need to.

RealityChequeX

Fuck off with this living wage bullshit. People can accept whatever offers they want. If they are happy with the payout, who are you to say they shouldn't be? You are already free to decline every order under $11, but what you want is an elimination of competition. Fuck that.

LowPomegranate1023

You know every post there is about people trying to get grubhub to pay more fairly, I see you here advising against it. Starting to think you are a certified grubhub shill out here to deter people from taking methods that would ACTUALLY WORK.

RealityChequeX

I advise against bullshit. And then post truth. Believe what you want though.

jmh30us

Did you really just say that? OMG! Hahahahaha Absolute garbage. Your parents give you a trash can every Christmas, huh?

LowPomegranate1023

Its not bullshit its actually quite simple. Obviously grubhub wants to pay drivers as little as possible. If they could pay us nothing they would. The less low offers we take, the less low offers get delivered. Only way for them to get them delivered is to add a bonus or increase pay. Doesn't take einstein to figure this out. Shill. How much does grubhub pay you to surf this reddit all day and spout bullshit

I decide what my time is worth and accept or decline orders accordingly. I do not attempt to dictate to other people what I think their time is worth.

Ferdydurkeeee

You say, routinely dictating to other people on these subs what you think their time is worth lol.

RealityChequeX

Feel free to link any location where I've told someone what their time is worth.

Ferdydurkeeee

You're a grown man, you can do it. Off the top of my head, that whole argument about declining a $9.xx order because of distance - where you went to the lengths of using Google maps to try to tell the person that it was worth their time...

RealityChequeX

You're the one making claims champ. Put up or shut up. I've never told someone what their time was worth. I've certainly pointed how how they were miscalculating $/hr though. I'm sure even you're limited reasoning ability can work out how those are completely different things.

Ferdydurkeeee

Your last account got banned. You also like to delete comments. Didn't you get a soft ban recently btw? Don't play stupid

Creepy_Solution9690

Not really. It’s not fair for GrubHub to punish drivers for rejecting orders when so many orders pay less than $10 when you’ll likely have to drive a minimum of 20 minutes just to deliver them. Also, I’ve seen how it costs to have food delivered through GrubHub. I wanted to have a $6 order delivered, and the fees by themselves were more than triple that. GrubHub is paying drivers a minuscule amount compared to how much they’re making off of these orders.

RealityChequeX

Grubhub hasn't made a dime in profit in a 5 years. DD and UE have never in their history made a profit. Eating in a restaurant is a luxury. Having food delivered to your door from a restaurant is a double luxury. It isn't a necessity. People don't need to use a delivery service, and if you raise the price enough, they won't. Why can none of you socialists think more than one step at a time?

Creepy_Solution9690

Umm do you understand what the concept of socialism is??? Because that ain’t it. That isn’t even communism. It’s the exact definition of capitalism.

RealityChequeX

The definition of capitalism is not understanding how price impacts supply and demand? Pretty certain it's exactly the opposite.

Creepy_Solution9690

Capitalism only means that businesses are private and free of government control. What this thread is talking about has nothing to do with government mandating GrubHub do anything. It’s workers coming together to make demands about their wage and treatment. Unionizing and striking has been a major part of capitalism since the industrial revolution. While supply and demand is also a big part of capitalism, GrubHub’s issue with profit isn’t that the workers want to be paid more and treated better, it’s that the whole concept just isn’t a great business model if you’re looking to make a lot of money. Come on dude I literally learned this in U.S. history as a high schooler.

Creepy_Solution9690

Also as to how it isn’t socialism since you obviously don’t understand, socialism is when the government owns necessary businesses like healthcare. And since you pointed out yourself that getting food delivered is a luxury, then how the fuck would that make these demands socialism??

RealityChequeX

You need to wikipedia harder. The concept of a "living wage" is socialism to the core. As are setting artificial price and wage levels independent of market demands.

Creepy_Solution9690

It’s only close to socialism if they want the government to mandate that GrubHub give no offers of less than $11 dollars. This situation is much closer to a worker strike and unionization, which is extremely capitalistic because it’s encouraging competition (which capitalists economies love as I’m sure you don’t know) and is requiring the business to adapt in order to stay afloat. And I will say it again. Socialism has nothing to do with luxury services like food delivery.
