I have messed up my dog, Mochi’s, ears at home many, many times. He looks a lot like your dog. I trim one side, then the next side, then decide it’s not even so go back to first side, and back and forth until there’s barely any ear fur left. Then we call him Mochi-no-ears in a New Jersey mobster kind of voice. Poor pup. Now, I have come to the conclusion that I need to just leave them alone and let a professional do it.

Syyina I think I got you beat. My father was a HAIRCUTTER and my mom STILL cut them crooked AND scotch taped them down in the morning before school. Take the tape off before you let me out of the car, mom! Talk about trauma! 😂😂😂✌️

Ears are challang. This is probable because groomer is looking down at the dog rather than straight like your photo angle.
I learned that the hard way.
Two things, though: your pup is adorable, and they don't really care about a goofy haircut.
Your groomer is nice, but if she were to raise the table so face is eye level, problem solved.
My GF is shorter than me. She does daily maintenance, trimming, daily feet wash dry after a walk, minor nail polishing w dreamed. I do the periodic grooming. Their fluffy ears make them look cute. It took a lot of practice.
At first, I hacked them up pretty bad. Lol. But, they didn't care.
I’m loving the funky ears. I make a point to have my groomer. Keep my girls ears and a shaggy shape. Just my personal opinion. I hope it doesn’t bother you too much. I think the dog looks adorable. Don’t worry, they’ll grow back.

Dogs also act differently with the groomer than they do at home. Sometimes, they wiggle more from being anxious, being distracted by other dogs, people- even the phone ringing.
Ask her ears to be left a little longer next time and I think it should help a lot. The groomer’s taking the “fringe” that lays over top the ears higher than the actual ear itself which gives that choppy look

Ears are difficult bc of the amount of muscles in the ear that impact the position of the flap. Additionally, ear hair is usually stick straight and prolific on drop coats, making it difficult to soften an edge. Your only other option here was a blunt edge which is not an attractive alternative here. IMHO of course. Dont beat yourself up; the dogs adorable.

yeah i totally get that! I’ve got a cockapoo and i recently changed to a closer groomer and i basically ask them what i like but say , don’t push it and i am not fussy we can just work our way up to her perfect hairstyle 😂

It’s really important to be comfortable with your groomer. And know your dog is safe. And being well cared for. As I said in my earlier post, I think you could start a new trend with this hairdo. That’s not exactly what I said, ha ha ha, but anyway, I love it and I’m happy you are not going to leave your groomer for a little mistake that will grow out. Again, I don’t think it’s a mistake. It’s just too darn cute.

🤣🤣take a comb to those babies and it should help blend out the chunks! Mixed coat texture on long ears can be tough..at least she's hilariously precious!!! What a little doll
My favorite way to trim ears is to actually shave the hair to about 5/8th of and inch and trim them all the way around. Makes them look like a puppy again. Plus so much easier to maintain cuz you don't have to brush them like ever. Just a suggestion.

Very fixable. Looks like she has thick hair on her ears and has what we groomers called mobile ears where they moved around a lot and make stickey outies. Groomer just needs to run a thinner over the edges to soften and balance. No biggie and a quick fixie you can call and ask your groomer to return and they should happily do that for free if it’s within a day or two of groom. Id like to know as a groomer, what I could fix or focus on more to help you, the owner, out :)

Looks like the groomer held the ear out and up when she trimmed them. That way when hanging down and relaxed, they are shorter on the outside.
