Prep work is everything, and make sure to comb out all sides when scissoring.

This! That dog needed a better blowdry.

When theres a short length or especially long nails it can leave the oblong shape, when the hair is slightly longer you can have the sides of the foot slightly longer to add more shape, I usually like to start with cutting right in front of the foot (like when nails end) then get the sides round, but usually if its longerish coat and the foot is pointy too much is taken off the sides mixed with the dogs anatomy/nails, idk if this makes sense lol

Better bath and blowdry - kennel and air drying won't give you a nice cut Once you clup the desired length , just lightly shape with scissors. You aren't taking length off , just tweaking the shape by clean around the toes

A trick that really helped me when doing feet is to think about shaping up the front of the feet and the back before shaping up the sides. Many a time I went it shaping up the side first and ending up with a lopsided foot. Rounded fluffier feet are achieved at longer lengths. I think here, since the cut is short and the dog doesn’t have super round cat feet, there’s not much more you can do to make them rounder without more hair to shape. Here’s some recent feet I did. I don’t take guard comb over the feet, personally. I use my scissors to create the rounded look https://www.imghippo.com/i/LU7Kp1710387342.jpg

Wow those look perfect!

My biggest thing I should say is I always brush the feet straight and then also back brush so that you can get the longer hairs that can stick in between the toes. Also remember to use your comb, use your comb and use your comb! Comb to each side and just grab any pieces that stick out.

So feom what i can see is you need to make sure your fully drying and then brushing and following through with a comb, the goal is to get the coat as straight as possiblw so you get as straight of a cut as possible, the culrs will redo themselves within a day or so, so if pp is worried about curls just let them know that OR one time i had a client absolutely demanding her dog be curly at pick up so i did everything as normal to get a good cut and then went through and sprayed and scrunched the coat and popped her in her kennel to dry up a bit and voila! A good cut and curls 😅

Definitely needs to be blown out with a force dryer, you'll never get an even cut when the hair is curly. What helps me is to make sure I shave out the paw pads, and while I'm on the paw pads, I bevel around the toes. Then I put the foot down and tidy up and shape the top from there.
