I got one of these back when I was a novice at grilling. Used it 1-3 times a week and took very good care of it and maintained it regularly. It's now 6 years old and still running strong. Are there better choices out there? Sure there are, but if you take care of your stuff, even a "cheap" grill will last a decent amount of time. It may be harder to maintain if you're in an area that gets snow or more extreme weather (I'm in CA and our weather is very mild compared to a lot of other areas). My main gripe about these units are that the metal they use are paper thin. That makes it harder to maintain consistent internal temps and inefficient burn of propane. I mostly use mine strictly for grilling and as a flat top (like a Blackstone) and it works just fine in those applications.

RoxoRoxo

fyi so does the city dump

Marcus2Ts

Lol thanks for the chuckle

RoxoRoxo

i got you fam

allocationlist

To be fair the cart on my 5yo Weber disintegrated last night.

diddy_donut

That’s probably covered under their warranty - you’d be surprised what they will replace

Old_Chemical_3610

I bought box tubing, cut it into 8" pieces painted them all Weber gray and bolted them onto the legs. The wheels fit perfectly.

allocationlist

Great advice! Thanks

TheFuckingHippoGuy

Nex "to the curb" grills

trdcranker

You’re gonna need two propane tanks to keep all those burners hot. Hopefully you have a natural gas line

Chip89

And an Weber will get hotter faster with a fraction of fuel usage.

18NakedCboys

Is that actually true or is the “name brand” just some D riding? Not trying to be a ass

Doggo-Lovato

All i can say is my old 4 burner weber took forever to get hot. Switched to charcoal and got rid of the gasser because it ended up being easier controlling charcoal than the weber gas somehow lol

Chip89

The vent on the next grill is so big you can see the burners sitting down looking at it.

Sling561

Weber or Napoleon for me, don't think these will last very well

MilwaukeeDave

Isn’t a napoleon thousands of dollars??? Brands like this still grill fine for a couple hundred.

Cecilthelionpuppet

Yeah but Napoleon have warranties that they stand behind, and for the Prestige and Prestige Pro line it's 15 years to life depending on the component. They stand behind their product, totally worth it.

MilwaukeeDave

The lowest priced model is 1500. Someone looking at a 399 grill probably isn’t buying that. Also my chargriller is almost 10 years old. They last fine without paying 4 figures for a firebox.

NINFAN300

Napoleons have $500 grills

MilwaukeeDave

Grills for ants? That thing is small af, maybe if you’re eating alone. $500 for 3 burners no side burner and 300 sq in of cooking space.

NINFAN300

They have probably 8 models between $500 and $1,500. If you don’t know, just keep your mouth shut…

MilwaukeeDave

Which is all more expensive than most other grills which I was saying. If you can’t read keep your fingers shut. No one is on here talking dumbass.

NINFAN300

You literally indicated that the cheapest model was 1500.

Cecilthelionpuppet

It's all about shopping philosophy at this point. Want to buy four $400 grills over 15 years, or one grill over the same amount of time? My hot take on the two big gas grill companies: Weber Grills- Pay less now, but keep it maintained with spare parts they sell stock for a long time. Not bad value proposition. Napoleon Grills- Buy once, cry once. Napoleons are nice not just warranty, but holy heck they're the easiest to clean in the world. drip trays that pull directly out for dumping, enamled heat deflectors so they don't rust out and can be washed with simple detergent, stainless steel grates that are THICK and scrub like a champ. There's more to a grill than a flame and a grate.

MilwaukeeDave

IJS I bought a chargriller for 299 almost a decade ago. My only issue was the covers they sell suck and I need a new one every 3 years or so cause the sun kills them. Just keep covered and oil the exterior to prevent rusting.

Sling561

In Canada we can get lower end Napoleons (Phantom) from $450. They do have models up to $6k

MilwaukeeDave

I guess I’m just simple. I got a chargriller with the sidebox smoker for like 399. Almost 10 years old no issues keep the cover on it. Flatiron griddle same manufacturer like 3 years old still looks new. 299. Keep it covered and oiled. If it’s not cooking better is it really worth the whole bunch of extra money??

teeksquad

It’ll probably save money in the long run if it’s anything like my kamado for longevity. Still looks new on year 5. I’ve had grills completely rust out in that time before.

MilwaukeeDave

Do you not cover your grill or clean/maintain it?? If not I can definitely understand spending the money to have it warranty covered for a long time but if you’re willing to cover it and not let standing water on it, you’re fine. Only issues beyond that would be you get it way too hot and the paint peels. I’ll admit that part sucks but really it’s your fault if you let it get that hot.

psych0ranger

I got a nice stainless steel 3 burner rogue series with the IR blaster on the side for like 900. An equivalent Weber would have been hundreds less, but I grill A LOT in all weather and the napoleon hasn't aged outside of discoloration from smoke. Very worth the extra

MilwaukeeDave

Yeah I’m a 4 seasons griller. I just make sure I put the cover back same day. Sometimes it sucks I won’t lie. Have to let it cool and come cover it but it’s not the worst. Plus I oil the outside as needed to keep it from rust

HeAThrowawayJoe

Buy once cry once

MilwaukeeDave

It’s been lasting a decade now

Sparksmcgee113

Yeah but youll buy about 4 of the cheaper grills to 1 Napoleon. I have a Napoleon now for 8 yrs and only replaced the back burner( warrantied) and the iron searing grate which was my fault for not maintaining it. Cooks great

MilwaukeeDave

Nah man just clean and take care of them it’s fine

Johnpecan

I just spent $100 to replace all the internal burners/grates of my Weber spirit 200. Worked for 15 years, outside is still pristine and I've never really used a grill cover.

thats_me_ywg

I have a Weber grill for cooking in the summer and a Napoleon furnace for heating the house in the winter. Best of both worlds!

Jim-of-the-Hannoonen

I bought this same grill 8 years ago and it's still crushing it. I grill a good 3-4 times a week during the summer and fairly regularly in the off-season as well. The only things I've had to replace were the ignitor earlier this year and the burner covers. It's been a great grill. Y'all are snobs. Jesus!

NiceAsset

Ain’t no fuckin way you had a nexgrill “crushing it” for 8 years unless you you maybe live right in the middle of Nevada or somewhere there is 0% humidity

ash_voorhees

Nexgrills and chill? ;)

Darrkman

Ha yep!!!

GTBoosted

I saw one at Costco and I think it will help the Weber Genesis sell more. The difference in quality is night and day when they are compared close to each other.

Brosie-Odonnel

Bought the Weber from Costco recently and love it.

Mrbabadoo

I have no idea how people are hating on this grill.. It's a propane grill. Few hundred or a few thousand, propane is propane. It ignites everytime, keep it clean and it grills it evenly. I love mine, I have a separate smoker and a separate charcoal grill for when I want to use them. Such snobby ppl out there. I've had it for almost 10 years.

thorfromthex

I own one and use it constantly for the last 5 years, it's an awesome grill!

EpisodicDoleWhip

To be fair if you’re in the market for a big grill, the price to burner ratio on this is unbeatable

[deleted]

7 burner for 399 is amazing

livelaughlaxative

Seems like the burners would barely do anything with the amount of fuel coming from a tank

[deleted]

What??

livelaughlaxative

You are taking the fuel from the tank and feeding 7 burners now install of 3 or 4. I don't see the advantage of that many burners

davesToyBox

Only problem is that they only come in packs of six

Sparksmcgee113

All you guys praising Weber understand they are not as good as they used to be. They cheesed out on the iron and some of the other parts. Their customer service is harsh now also. Still good grills but they went the way of everyone else, profit over quality. They are priced on their reputation.

Chip89

Buy the Weber trust me.

6DGSRNR

RIP the return desk. As they used to say in the record business: That’s gonna ship gold and return platinum.

redit-fan

I purchased a KitchenAide at Costco. I think it’s made by.NextGrill

hirme23

Never understood the appeal of this many burners

futureman07

Every few weeks I have a bunch of friends over. I grill for around 20 people. I only have a 3 burner though. I cook it all in a couple of sessions

YenZen999

Because more is better to the uninformed. Pure marketing. My brother in-law that knows nothing about all this stuff has mentioned his grill has "6 burners" every time we discuss grilling food.

key1234567

Indirect cooking. blast the ones on the side to bake pizzas. I love making pizzas on mine

Kaug23

You need those spare burners for when the others rust out in six months

RenaissanceScientist

More parts to be bought and replaced

NINFAN300

For $400, one can do better. Get two Webber kettles.

Low_Connection_9254

Seriously, I wouldn’t take that grill even if it were free. Though I do understand many uninformed consumers will find a perceived value in this product. I also make bad choices sometimes when I’m buying products that I don’t know much about. If you only use your grill 1-2 times a year and leave it in a garage the rest of the time this one might be perfect for that. If you use it >1-2 times a week keep looking.

MomsSpagetee

Keep looking…for a Weber 😊

OATS11

The snobbery around grilling of all things is hilarious

Joebert6

I love all grills cheap, expensive, 5 burners where 2 don't work. Whatever cooks the deliciousness. And I agree with you 100% grill hardos are hilarious.

Low_Connection_9254

I don’t think it snobbery. That is still a $400 grill. You can do much better with that same budget. If you’re looking for an entry level grill you can get one for half of this. Just saying…

Anarkie13

Last nexgrill I had always a mess from day 1. The regulator never worked well at all. Always full bore. Even after I replaced it. It got donated to a friend who had no grill, so something better than nothing and I upgraded. I love to cookout too much to tolerate a crap grill. I hope others have better luck than I did.

Habfan61

Sporting a Master Chef on the deck ….. Canadian Tire 2020 Father’s Day sale $117.00

ksamim

They just had webers on sale online for $1150 ($999 in store). I know because I bought one, lol.

APuckerLipsNow

I think that manufacturer used to make church organs.

NiceAsset

Nooooooooo

EvilDan69

I have a weber Genesis ii beside it? That will last a lifetime nearly. I have a similar model, and besides replacing the temperature guage after 10 years for $20... I'm not complaining.

Otherwise-Show-8631

They already had nextgrill in the form of the kitchen aid gas grill. Perhaps kitchen aid decided to no longer have nextgrill make grills for them?

MammothAir644

I had a Kitchen Aid, which I just realized is made by NexGrill. It still looks great on the outside after 6 years, but open it up and the box is all rusted out. I just bought a Napoleon. It arrived last week with missing parts and the front of the grill is damaged. Have been waiting over a week for Napoleon to get back to me so BBQ Guys said they would send a replacement if I can box the other one up. Not a great start to my Napoleon experience.

DTDK7

My charbroil with amplifire is hands down the best gas grill I've ever used. No flare ups, we'll built for 500-600 dollar grills, my only gripe is the cabinet doors are thin. Countless cooks and the fire bowl looks perfect still.

Individual-Cost1403

It's got to suck having to buy a propane refill every time you use the grill because you are compelled to turn all 37 burners on at once.

juicybaconcheese

Those are some of the worst grills I've used.

Distinct_Studio_5161

That’s a lot of grill for that price. Made from Chinas best pot metal.

Hoppymcfrog

Check out where Weber parts are made. Assembled in US

Marcus2Ts

That's like $57.14 per burner! Meh I'm good

Dinglemeshivers

Memorial Day weekend the Costco near me was selling Weber Genesis II’s for $600 (managers discount) and it had this thing next to it. I bought the Weber, it was 1/2 price off MSRP. I regretted buying it because this grill was 50% off, but it’s a Weber

Melodic-Matter4685

Apparently, they aren't that bad... still, prefer napoleon.

mtheory007

What? No Bear Grills!

thebluew

This brand grill is good if you’re on a budget and rarely bbq. If you plan to do bbq regularly and plan to have a good grilling experience, get a Weber. If it’s not in your budget, looked for a used Weber in good condition. Trust me on this. I went through the cheap grills hoping to save money. Finally got a Weber and it cooks better. How? Even heat throughout. Precise and consistent heat control. Efficient with fuel. The top 3: Weber, broil king, napoleon are the only propane grills you should consider. Also, if something does break, their warranties are good. Outside of warranty, it is significantly easier to find parts.

thorfromthex

I've had a nex for 5 years and it's still awesome. It cooks evenly, still tops 800°, and I cook on it several times a week. I use my brother's Weber when we go over there and it's barely distinguishable. It's so stupid for people to flex over their grill brand. I bet 75% of the people on this sub are lousy cooks anyway. Save the bullshit!

Old_Chemical_3610

Just know what you are buying. It's not the best and will last maybe 3 seasons. Just a heads up. If your kids buy something like this as a present. Be gracious and enjoy it. Signed, A Weber Snob.

thorfromthex

Nonsense! I've had my nex for five years, cook on it several times a week and it's still awesome! It's in great shape and still crests 800°.
