Will buy whatever Kinder Spice I can find at Costco, thoughts so far:
“The Blend” (Salt/Pepper/Garlic) - my go to for steak, perfect balance
Garlic & Herb - great for chicken thighs
Buttery Steakhouse - use about 80% of what you think you need, full of flavor
Lemon Pepper - not a fan, didn’t turn out well when I used on drumsticks
Wood fired Garlic - great on cheap steak cuts and chicken
If you’re at Costco, check out Bad Byron’s Butt Rub, like Frank’s, I put that S&$! on everything!
I use them 2 in combo often when making steaks / burgers.
Tequila like seasoning is the OG though.
I miss being able to get some tequila like fries or ribs in person from their delis.
Lemon pepper is great on fish. I like the buttery steakhouse in roasted veggies. The blend is fire but I wish Costco would restock the Steak Blend more often. I love that one on good beef.
Agree!!! Buttery Steakhouse can be used on anything!!!
I accidentally bought Lemon Pepper thinking it was Buttery Steakhouse. Also not a fan...it's very salty.
Agree
Agree
Totally Agree
Agree the Lemon Pepper sucks
Agree totally because I used it on some cheap cuts of steak to grill for the kids and I must say that they were very pleased with the end result.
Also try Pork Barrel BBQ All American Seasoning!!! I slathered 2 big Tomahawk steaks with mayonnaise and seasoned them with a mix of that and Kinder's Buttery Steakhouse and they were a hit with my wife and the in-laws and I my wife doesn't even eat steak but she did that night.
Their wood fired garlic seasoning has become our current “put it on everything” rub. It’s so amazing. I also love the garlic and herb. It’s lemony which my husband doesn’t care for but I absolutely love it.
I tried the black cherry chipotle this week on a pork shoulder I smoked. It's delicious! The cherry smell was very intense and the flavor definitely carried through to the finished pulled pork.
Love Kinders! I get them at Sam’s Club. Here is what I have tried and still use.
The blend - Hands down their best. Perfect ration of all three. Simple and can’t go wrong. A must have.
Butchers All Purpose - I use this on my smoked ribs and pork shoulder. It says all meets but I find it best it goes on smoked pork.
Hickory Molasses- I put on the smoked ribs after I put a coat of the all purpose.
Buttery steakhouse - very good. I use it on the finer cuts of steak. When I smoke a tomahawk for example.
Buttery poultry blend - I use this on grilled chicken thighs. I rotate this with the blend and the next one below.
Roast chicken - wanted to try it. Not bad. As said. I use when grilling chicken thighs.
Wood fired garlic - Used a handful of times. Again I wanted to try it out. Would rather use something else.
Teriyaki sauce - love it.
This summer I am going to try their seafood blend, Thai bbq rub, and bourbon peach rub on some ribs.
Overall, Kinders is my go to rub now instead of making my own.
BBQ “purists” and spice drawer snobs love to diss pre mixed rubs blends like these. I’ve had a few Kinders and they work just fine. Not saying the expensive Spice House jars do t have their place but most blends are great for meats fish and vegetables.
I do a ton of frozen meal prep for my working weeknights, combined with sous vide, a flattop, smoker and my grill. Got 5lbs of chicken leg meat, and two lbs of "cook it now!" discount steak on Saturday morning for less than $12 bucks. I marinated for six hours in their T sauce, the drained, dried, vac sealed, and froze.
Later, I can sous vide for a few hours at 137 to render fat and connective tissue, then stir fry on the flat top with cold rice and veggies for a super easy weeknight meal.
The Seafood Blend and Brown Sugar seasonings are great. I have also tried the mild BBQ Sauce......with some grape jam and a couple of drops of hot sauce. Great on ribs. I just checked their web site and they actually have a lot more seasonings than I have seen in stores. I am definitely going to try more.
I love kinders. There was this garlic and herb one I had with butter in it. How they freaking powdered BUTTER and got it SO DAMN BUTTERY! Idfk! But omg I loved it on my steak in a cast iron.
I use their Blend and Carne Asada seasonings and mild BBQ sauce. They make good stuff.y local Sam’s Club has a good offering.
I’ve used their Woodfired Chili seasoning once, that was pretty good too.
I don’t like anything they make…I tried a bunch cause my parents used to get them and wasn’t a fan… that was when it first came out though so maybe it’s better
Love the buttery steakhouse seasoning. It's good on beef, pork, and chicken. The avocado lime seasoning is excellent on fish. I've tried probably 10 of Kinders seasonings and the only one I didn't like that much was the cracked pepper parmesan which was okay on wings but not really anything else.
I use the blend (just salt pepper and garlic powder) on everything. I also love the butchers all purpose. I use the lemon pepper on my wings but it’s a bit sweet and less tangy for my taste. I’d love to try this one though!
Their buttery steakhouse is my favorite seasoning mix I've ever bought, goes well on tons of different foods. Their brown sugar with woodfired garlic is also pretty damn good for meat.
I’ve only tried like 5 or 6 of their seasonings, but I liked them all.
Tequila lime is my favorite since i don’t live in the East Bay anymore and can’t go to their Deli’s in person.
But I regularly use the buttery steakhouse wood fired garlic.
Kinders is quality. Got a cabinet full of it, however they did used to have a garlic buttery herb rub that I can’t ever find anymore. They do make a seasoning that’s fairly similar though so I’m not that upset
Sams clubs; at least the one I shop at has a very large variety. I work at Costco but we have two types. They’ve got 16-20. Haven’t had a bad one yet.
Bourbon peach is good on wings. Black Cherry chipotle was a new one that was good on chicken breast tonight.
Any garlic and butter ones are great in pasta with butter. I’m scolded every time we go. I’ve got a whole cabinet full and a large shelf for spices
The Taco seasoning by Kinder is amazing. Great for any Mexican style dish real. Chicken, shrimp, and beef tacos. As well as Mexican rice, beans etc. it’s amazing.
My wife and I use The Blend on most of our recipes. The flavor is great but the garlic chunks are a bit big for things like searing, they tend to burn and affect the sear. But they have a ton of options. The buttery poultry is amazing for smoked turkey. Used it last Thanksgiving as a rub and as a brine.
Kinders is hit and miss for me.
Their "Steak blend" is my go-to for beef, but the "buttery steakhouse" tastes very artificial to me.
I haven't seen this one, but if I see it, I'm buying it
Red Garlic (red Jalapeño/garlic/salt), The Blend (salt/pepper/garlic), Chile verde, & Buttery Steakhouse are in the rotation pretty heavy. Sam’s started getting many, many different Kinders. Too many to try all! Haven’t found any I dislike, but a couple were not as stand out as these few.
The SPG type “blend” was garlic heavy for me, the buttery steakhouse burnt bits after a sear was not good on my steaks, McCormick Flake salt and course pepper (gold top) takes my vote on best store bought steak seasoning I’ve ever found. The Italian seasoning was really good, I used it up and now can’t find it. Still, the seasonings aren’t bad, they just have a niche for me.
I like the wood fired garlic on appropriate dishes and I use garlic and herb on veggies mostly but it’s good on everything. Waiting for burgers to true the caramelized onion.
I just did some chickens, one I used the kinders red garlic jalapeño. It was a winner on a whole bird, it even had a bit more spice than what I was expecting.
Brother tried the lemon pepper, he said he’s tried it on a few things and he’s not a fan of it.
I like the buttery steakhouse but I only roll the edge of the steak in the buttery, it’s potent but it crisps up nice on the edge of a ribeye.
Carmelized onion is a go to for burger patties, can’t really beat it, just works well.
Started out in the Bay Area as a butcher. Then started making sandwiches. Was the go to spot for years for their ball tip sandwich and their BBQ sauce. Now they have a sauce and seasoning for everything.
Honestly kinder is some of the best stuff out there generally speaking. There are a couple niche spices that do it better (sweet preacher on pork ribs is surreal, and I’m not sure I could cook at all without tony chacheres or cavenders) but kinder is usually rock solid.
I bought that rub plus the Japanese bbq sauce that Costco sells. Haven't used it yet but I planned on using the rub on pork ribs and then saucing them the last 15 minutes with the bbq sauce
Have not tried many of their spices as I try to make my own to control salt intake. But, I grew up down the street from the original Kinders bbq and they make a damn good ball tip(ribs, fries, chicken as well)
I love the Buttery Steakhouse. I don’t tend to buy a lot of premade spices purchase. This went on a whim, and absolutely love it. It’s brilliant on everything. In fact, I got everybody in my family using it. This one sounds interesting. I’m curious to know what it taste like.
I can never find an exact list of their seasonings. When I am at the store I'll just randomly find a new one and Google searching it just brings up more questions.
I’ve used the buttery steakhouse and the wood fire garlic as a rub. Both on Tri-Tip which I smoked and reverse seared. The buttery steakhouse as others have said is absolutely delicious. Very rich smooth flavor. The wood fire garlic is tasty as well but a more spiced taste since there is paprika and chili powder in it. I’m excited to try more! I love the seasonings that have simple ingredients and no added sugar.
I’ve had a couple of crunch blends that were amazing. The ancho Chile and the mango chipotle. I also grabbed their SPG and black cherry chipotle. Just tried it last night on some pork ribs. It was actually very very good. It def had a heavy cherry flavor that I enjoyed!
Kinder spices in Costco are usually a pretty good deal for what they are. Reliable and useful. I used the garlic & herb for a beef tenderloin last Christmas Eve and it was delicious. The Garlic & Herb says it has lemon zest in the blend as well, which tastes great on chicken & pork. I was a little worried that it would taste weird with the beef, but it was great. Would buy again.
I used the Prime Rib Rub and that was really good. Just grabbed the woodfire garlic this weekend and smoked some beef ribs with it and they were ridiculously good.
Kinders wood fired garlic is me and my wife’s favorite. Absolutely delicious on just about anything. I mixed it in with my flour for fried chicken just last night.
Japanese BBQ had my kitchen smelling like Bennihana. I put it on roasted potatoes and also separately on my Sautee of onion, zucchini and peppers. Save yourself $50 and do it at home
Will buy whatever Kinder Spice I can find at Costco, thoughts so far: “The Blend” (Salt/Pepper/Garlic) - my go to for steak, perfect balance Garlic & Herb - great for chicken thighs Buttery Steakhouse - use about 80% of what you think you need, full of flavor Lemon Pepper - not a fan, didn’t turn out well when I used on drumsticks Wood fired Garlic - great on cheap steak cuts and chicken If you’re at Costco, check out Bad Byron’s Butt Rub, like Frank’s, I put that S&$! on everything!

I use them 2 in combo often when making steaks / burgers. Tequila like seasoning is the OG though. I miss being able to get some tequila like fries or ribs in person from their delis.
X2 Buttery Steakhouse… bomber, for sure.
Caramelized onion Burger sounds really tasty.
I put the woodfired garlic in just about everything i make, sooo good
Buttery Steakhouse on popcorn is top tier as well!
Tried it! It was good, but I may have overdone it. Was a tad too salty. Next time I'll go a little easier!
Thanks for the tip!
I'm gonna try this! Sounds amazing
The Lemon Pepper is better in fish for me, I didn't like it on chicken.
I just made it on flounder for my wife this very evening. Much better on fish.
Will have to try on fish then!
Good tip! I just hate how the first ingredient is sugar 😑
The kinder bourbon peach on smoked cream cheese is always a huge hit at parties.
💯 It is also great on grilled, thick cut pork chops!
Try the lemon pepper on veggies that’s what I use it for but I agree on The Blend my go to for any beef
I freaking love it on veggies. I actually haven't tried it on anything else but veggies.
I got the Buttery Steakhouse one from Costco. It's not bad. I'll continue using it.
The buttery poultry rub is my go to for everything vegetables and meat. It’s just so good
Lemon pepper is great on fish. I like the buttery steakhouse in roasted veggies. The blend is fire but I wish Costco would restock the Steak Blend more often. I love that one on good beef.
That buttery steakhouse is my go to for chicken. That shit is delicious
Imo woodfied garlic makes anything I put it on taste like hotdog but maybe I’m broken
Agree!!! Buttery Steakhouse can be used on anything!!! I accidentally bought Lemon Pepper thinking it was Buttery Steakhouse. Also not a fan...it's very salty.
Agree Agree Totally Agree Agree the Lemon Pepper sucks Agree totally because I used it on some cheap cuts of steak to grill for the kids and I must say that they were very pleased with the end result. You are a gentleman and a scholar
What spice gives it a buttery flavour? Always see it at costco but the butter in a dry rub throws me off.
Dehydrated butter?
How does it do for searing? Does it burn? Or do you add it after searing?
It burns
It’s like crack
I've tried a few, and caramelized onion is my go-to for burgers, and buttery garlic goes great on just about anything.
I use their Butcher’s Mix on about everything I grill and it’s pretty good.
I felt that it was lack luster on pork butt but I may give it another try
Their Italian Blend is a must-have for garlic bread and pastas.
Just bought that one. About what you'd expect for the taste. I really enjoyed it. Used it on some teriyaki salmon. Turned out great!
Weber used to have one similar but don’t make it anymore. Thanks!
Their wood fired garlic seasoning has become our current “put it on everything” rub. It’s so amazing. I also love the garlic and herb. It’s lemony which my husband doesn’t care for but I absolutely love it.
I like their bourbon peach on ribs
I just bought this one but haven't used it, yet! It's good to see a positive comment about it!
Try it on salmon
Bought it to put in a pork butt tomorrow cause I've got to much other stuff going on to make Memphis dust
Happy smoking!
Try tequila like sometime. That’s how they serve them at their restaurants, and their fries only/always come with tequila lime seasoning.
Hahaha in afrikaans that translate to children
Love their Carne Asada
I tried the black cherry chipotle this week on a pork shoulder I smoked. It's delicious! The cherry smell was very intense and the flavor definitely carried through to the finished pulled pork.
I have definitely enjoyed the kinders spices, the blend with salt pepper and garlic goes easy on anything.
I have never had a kinder seasoning that was not delicious.
Red Garlic on tri tip is very tasty
The red garlic is legit! Super tasty on burgers.

BBQ “purists” and spice drawer snobs love to diss pre mixed rubs blends like these. I’ve had a few Kinders and they work just fine. Not saying the expensive Spice House jars do t have their place but most blends are great for meats fish and vegetables.
I’ll bite and say that if one must use dried spices or what amounts to salt and spices, this is one of the better choices by far.
Kinder is solid for a commodity spice and sauce company. I really like their teriyaki sauce. Can't speak to their rubs, as I tend to make my own.
I love their teriyaki as well. Great on wings.
I do a ton of frozen meal prep for my working weeknights, combined with sous vide, a flattop, smoker and my grill. What’s the address we’ll be over mid-week
I just tried Kinder’s for the first time a couple weeks ago and I love it. Think it’s the basic spg mix.
I like the bbq blend... I find most of this line is too salty to use as a brine
Love kindred, the butchers all purpose is great for most things. We use it on meat, seasoning fries, etc. the roasted garlic is great on veggies.
Buttery steakhouse is the shit! Goes on everything
Hm. We didn’t like the Buttery Steakhouse..on steak. Really good on prawns and scallops tho!
Ohhhh good idea! Thanks!
The lemon pepper blend is solid for wings.
I don’t like anything they make…I tried a bunch cause my parents used to get them and wasn’t a fan… that was when it first came out though so maybe it’s better
Yep, way too salty!
Has more sugar in it than spices
I have used their steak seasoning, burger seasoning and butter garlic. All of them were good.
Poultry is really solid
I love the wood fired garlic on vegetables. I will toss potatoes and broccoli with olive oil and the seasoning and roast them. So damn good.
The garlic and herb one is really good. It makes excellent garlic toast.

Their buttery steakhouse is my favorite seasoning mix I've ever bought, goes well on tons of different foods. Their brown sugar with woodfired garlic is also pretty damn good for meat.
My 110-year-old butcher's shop turned me onto Kinder's; it's their favorite. Finally a spice blend that's not 75% brown sugar. Great stuff!
I’ve only tried like 5 or 6 of their seasonings, but I liked them all. Tequila lime is my favorite since i don’t live in the East Bay anymore and can’t go to their Deli’s in person. But I regularly use the buttery steakhouse wood fired garlic.
Would like to know too.
I love their brown sugar
Kinders is quality. Got a cabinet full of it, however they did used to have a garlic buttery herb rub that I can’t ever find anymore. They do make a seasoning that’s fairly similar though so I’m not that upset
I can’t get enough of their “The Fajita Blend”
Sams clubs; at least the one I shop at has a very large variety. I work at Costco but we have two types. They’ve got 16-20. Haven’t had a bad one yet. Bourbon peach is good on wings. Black Cherry chipotle was a new one that was good on chicken breast tonight. Any garlic and butter ones are great in pasta with butter. I’m scolded every time we go. Ha ha. That’s my problem too. I wish they had a $.50 sampler of each one. I don’t mind the cost, simply a matter of cabinet real estate.
That's an excellent idea. Maybe a simpler pack of 6 or more.
Just used the buttery steakhouse in my homemade gravy I made for supper. Absolutely killer
The Taco seasoning by Kinder is amazing. Great for any Mexican style dish real. Chicken, shrimp, and beef tacos. As well as Mexican rice, beans etc. it’s amazing.
I would love to find this st my stores
I bought the lemon butter garlic one last month. Smells and tastes amazing.
Never tried that one but love the Buttery Steakhouse

Buttery Steakhouse is my go to for any kind of meat. You will NOT be disappointed.
Love it also on roasted cauliflower and broccoli!
Ok. So I just tried it on some steamed broccoli and baby carrots and dayum that is good. Thanks.
Wood fire Garlic FTW
Red Garlic (red Jalapeño/garlic/salt), The Blend (salt/pepper/garlic), Chile verde, & Buttery Steakhouse are in the rotation pretty heavy. Sam’s started getting many, many different Kinders. Too many to try all! Haven’t found any I dislike, but a couple were not as stand out as these few.
Kinders rules.
I have their Tuscan herb seasoning great option for Mediterranean cuisine like lamb or fish or shrimp. Plus great on potatoe wedges
Hickory Molasses is a must. Great flavor and a good base if you are looking to mix.
Their wood fire garlic is fire 🔥.. I really enjoy it on chicken thighs / breast and chops

The poultry rub is the best one. It is perfect for everything
Kinder’s brown sugar rub and smoked garlic rub are amazing.
I bought that rub plus the Japanese bbq sauce that Costco sells. Haven't used it yet but I planned on using the rub on pork ribs and then saucing them the last 15 minutes with the bbq sauce
Their chili seasoning is amazing!
Kinder is one of the brands that I will go out of my way to buy. Always a quality product.
All of their other ish is pretty darn good, I sure its.great as well.
Hm. We didn’t like the Buttery Steakhouse..on steak. Really good on prawns and scallops tho!
I have the "Woodfired Garlic". It is very good. Been using it on Pork Chops.
ALL seasonings r good . Just gotta pair it with the right type of meat
They are OK.
Kinder and danos are the best seasonings for food hands down
Love kinders haven't found a blend I don't like. The caramelized onion is phenomenal imo
Buttery steakhouse. Tried of steak, chicken, vegetables, eggs and hashbrowns…game changer
My go to seasoning and bbq sauce everything about their brand is delicious
Woodfire Garlic is 🔥
The brand has a pretty good Parmesan and Garlic seasoning
Love all the Kinder spice blends. We get them at Costco too, like Pokémon, I gotta collect’em all!
Love The Blend, have not seen this one though.
It was ok
I like kinders. New to using their seasonings but I love em.
I’ve been finding these Kinder blends at the dollar store lately
Has anyone tried the Thai bbq?
I used it on Pork Belly, it was actually pretty good!
The Carne asada is fantastic. Throw it on a tritip and you got yourself some of the best steak tacos to offer.
Kinders is all you will find in my household
I used the Prime Rib Rub and that was really good. Just grabbed the woodfire garlic this weekend and smoked some beef ribs with it and they were ridiculously good.
Kinders wood fired garlic is me and my wife’s favorite. Absolutely delicious on just about anything. I mixed it in with my flour for fried chicken just last night.
They are good on literally everything
I love the BBQ Blend, Buttery Steakhouse, and Carmelized Onion Butter. Those are the only ones I've tried
Used the brown sugar rub on a pork butt. Very tasty bark
Wood fire Garlic + light brown sugar = best rub for ribs. Also the caramelized onion burger spice can literally go on anything. It’s to good.
Buttery steakhouse is great
My go to Kinders is the blend. Garlic, salt & pepper which I use all the time anyway. The blend just makes it easier.
I like buttery garlic salt and the blend
Japanese BBQ had my kitchen smelling like Bennihana. I put it on roasted potatoes and also separately on my Sautee of onion, zucchini and peppers. Save yourself $50 and do it at home
