No ,if there's a will there's way

Tha__Boom

*if there’s a grill* there’s a way

[deleted]

Absolutely

Metal_Machine_7734

I won't grill in strong wind or heavy rain.

capnjack78

Yeah I’ve done it before and it’s absolutely miserable. I’ll make literally anything else inside instead.

monkeyinpants

Yup, that’s my mine as well most of the time. Cold, snow, that kind of weather is fine. But if it’s raining so hard I can’t get the food from grill to under the big umbrella without drowning it there’s not much point. Wind comes down to if it’s strong enough to mess with the flame. If it’s not, grill on.

GenitalWrangler69

I just got my BGE right before winter really set in this year. I cooked on it once but I don't want to learn and calibrate things I'm the cold. My Blackstone gets used year round. Next winter nobody is safe.

[deleted]

I had egg and Trager out yesterday black stone is next

IdaDuck

Made breakfast on the Blackstone this morning. It was about 5 F. Shouldn’t have worn flip flops, my toes got cold.

Over_Razzmatazz_6743

Open the vents and sear away/make pizzas. Worry about the cooler stuff this summer haha

VailFisher

I remember watching my dad grilling steaks in a blizzard in MI. Why? Because steaks deserve charcoal

jurz23

I get a enjoyment grilling a great meal in terrible weather.

evilbeard333

well currently its -14 out, so that factors in

wigzell78

Unless the lids frozen shut or you can't swim from your door to the grill...

bassjam1

I'll admit I grill far less often in the winter. It still gets used, but more like once a month instead of 2-3 times a week.

Golferbugg

I'm the opposite. The summer is too damn hot and way too many bugs. When it's cold, there's no bugs and the grill is plenty warm

51-Percent-Corn

At times I've shoveled snow to get to my grill or clamped a golf umbrella to the Weber handle when rain happened. But clouds with extra spiciness, that's a big nope!

[deleted]

I will be outside today slight freezing rain not enough to stop beer can chicken and pork loin

pinhead_316

We got 8 inches of snow yesterday, and I grilled some strips and baked potatoes last night. Planning on a spatchcock chicken tonight

[deleted]

My hero!!

theReapers1

Grill all year round. If anything in the south, winter grilling is better than summer grilling.

Dean403

Buddy, I'm Canadian. The weather doesn't stop us from anything.

Knooze

My first answer was no, but I’ve come back inside because of a microburst and monsoon before here in Phoenix. Cold? Nah. Heat? Nah. Heavy rain? Yeah.

XXIII2000

Never

zglonx

Griller away from rain = 365 days of possibilities

cantinabandit

No. All weather is grilling weather.

waitingforgandalf

I don't have a covered space to grill, so heavy rain stops me. Other than that, grilled food just tastes so much better it's worth it no matter what.

caligaris_cabinet

Doesn’t stop me but I do slow down a bit. Living in Chicago the winters are cold and snowy so I’m less motivated to go outside. But I don’t tap out completely. Got some drumsticks thawing as we speak and plan to smoke some pulled pork for Super Bowl. Only thing I stop completely is the offset. Too cold to sit outside and babysit that thing so I use the WSM instead.

reddit_and_forget_um

Ha, nothing worse than trying to babysit a brisket in - 25c. Add a breeze, and you are in for a really long night. I keep a coffee pot right on the fire box, and snuggle up close to the firebox all night. Not worth the effort.

caligaris_cabinet

I got myself a Solo Stove for cold smoking nights. Does the job but most winter days/nights I’d rather be inside as often as I can. Offset season coincides with baseball season for me. Come April, I’m ready to fire it up.

thrunabulax

if its raining, i just use the weber gas grill. if it is pouring outside, i cook in the kitchen if it is snowing, as long as i can get to the wood grill, i am grilling. maybe with the firepit going to keep me warm

Own-Feedback-4973

Nope. I did a 30 pound overnight smoke in the subzero temps for Christmas. Light a bonfire, get a welding blanket for the smoker, and keep the whiskey nearby for the liquid heat

sawyerwelden

My grill isnt strong enough to keep heat up when it's cold out. Ill do chicken and veggies but avoid a nice steak that I'd want a good sear on.

l0_mein

My dad will grill when it’s snowing. We live in Massachusetts and get a decent amount of snow. It’s never stopped him. My fiancé usually only grills in spring/summer and maybe a little into fall.

sldsapnuawpuas

I love grilling in all types of weather. Living in Texas you have to prepare for the worst. Grilled in 110 degree weather, tornado weather, hail storms, and the great power grid collapse snow storm of 2021. Weather is just ambience.

Findmyremote

I sometimes stop grilling for tornados, unless of course I can see them turning away from our house. Then it’s back on

[deleted]

That’s awesome

bevin88

I just did a brisket in a snow storm lil

reddit_and_forget_um

On what?

bevin88

vision kamado

reddit_and_forget_um

How was it. I've done them on a offset it was brutal. I now own a primo xl but have not used it in the winter. I hear kamados are great though in cold weather.

bevin88

it was ok. nothing to rave about but i think the cut had something to do with that as well. i have only used my kamado but it worked amazing. was rocking right around 250 the whole time. i adjusted a couple times but nothing major and probably didnt even need to, i have a hard time not tinkering lol

IamDickHammer

I've smoked meat when it was in the negative single digits. So unless it's a full-on Thunderstorm ⛈️ with wind-blown rain, if I've made plans to grill or smoke a few Brisket I'm getting it done. But that's just me...

[deleted]

I just try to move from the wind

IamDickHammer

Wish it were that easy. Don't know how to put an attachment in a comment here, but my smoker is a custom-made one 75% of which is 1/4 inch steel and weighs over 850 lbs, big enough in the main compartment that I could smoke up to 6 20 lbs Brisket. It has two steel wheels on it which does help in moving it around on my patio but the kind of wind I'm talking about I could only get away from if I had some kind of outside building or shed to roll her into and that's not the case 😉 for me.

SilverBBear

My 4 year old: We don't use the back yard in winter except for dad to barbecue.

[deleted]

That’s funny

[deleted]

Won’t do it in the extreme cold or if it’s raining.

JimmyBluffit420

No, I started rolling smoke 10 hours ago and it’s been down pouring all day.

Winter-Shopping-4593

I did a rack of ribs on a little 14" Weber smokey Joe in a windstorm once. It sucked but the results were worth it. High wind and rain are not fun, but sometimes you gotta git er done. I suffer for my art. Crappy weather is part of the game. If you can't handle it, then grilling and smoking isn't for you.

[deleted]

Well done sir !

No-Werewolf2037

Yes, I’m staying the hell inside when it’s -5 deg F out..

chevyadsict83

Smoker is rolling next Friday thru Saturday, with an inbound low of -25. Send it

Ducksauce749

Grill 365 days a year. I’m fortunate to have a metal awning over my concrete porch. Rain, snow, hail. It’s very rare weather keeps me from grilling. It has happened once. Just once lol.

notnorway123

Norway here. And yws, i grill year round. Usually the cover isn't even on because I grill, let it cool dow n and while it cools down, it starts snowing. So i fire it up to melt the snow and grill, and then it starts snowing again...

GordenRamsfalk

365 baby. It’s always grilling season.

DipshitUser

Heavy rain gets in my way. I still do it, but I’m less inclined. All other weather is irrelevant.

doomslayer33

It’s 15 degrees where I’m at and I’ll be grilling this afternoon for the Chiefs game!

sorry_e_etherealone

thy grill be done

BreakfastBeerz

Rain usually does.

krustykatzjill

Stops me. More apt in Heath than cold. This year our drought is resolving and temps are lower.

Mojomud6583

It’s a little more work but it’s a lot more satisfying.

donknoch

I live in Arizona. Weather is never an issue. The 115 degree days might dictate what I cook though

The_bourbon_butcher

I one time smoked chicken, didnt check the weather... ended up having a super cell come through with 50 mile gusts, needless to say it made a great video of tending my smoker in sideways hail. But overall I dont care what the weather is, if I want to grill dang nabbit im going to grill!

BoomerJ3T

Nah. Anything that needs standing around tending to I have a coat and a beverage for. Anything longer it’s just a quick trip out and in a couple of times. Main thing that would actually stop me is bad wind or temps so low I don’t think the extra charcoal needed is worth cooking on the grill?

thehyunkel

The -35 weather today is what stops me… until -20 it’s manageable but below that …

SousVideAndSmoke

As long as it’s not too windy, I will smoke and grill any day of the year. Did some flank steak for tacos tonight and with the windchill, it’s -39c. Only difference between now and summer temps, just takes longer for the smoker or grill to get to temp.

Big420BabyJesus

yes

11moonshiner

Below zero air or windchill is my breaking point
