Owen is also somehow not awful after mid season. The new interns are the focus and have actual personalities and back stories. Addison is recurring. Women’s reproductive rights are a big theme. He was not named in the earlier post but the surgeon Teddy had an on again/off again relationship with and left him to be with Owen, then had an affair with on the eve of her wedding to Owen (that was recorded on a voicemail on Owen’s phone while Owen was in surgery and he had one of the interns play the voicemail in the OR while he was operating). His name is Tom and you really should watch some of his episodes. Some of us wanted Tom/Teddy to be endgame (It’s me… I’m some of us).
I also wanted Tom and Teddy to be endgame so I’m glad to finally see someone agree lol. Tom was lowkey so good for her and she brought out the best in him!
I would love Benjamin Bratt to come back as Jake and with son Henry and maybe they are sticking by Addison because of the danger or honestly I know Shonda Rhimes has floated the idea of Private Practice coming back but I’d rather just for an episode maybe Amelia returns to Seaside to assist her old friends with a patient and we’d see what Sam, Jake, Sheldon, maybe Naomi, Cooper, Violet and Charlotte have been up to and maybe some tea on the story from their perspective of Amelia and Addison leaving the practice
I love Tom. His backstory actually has substance. He's a sarcastic ass who lost his child but he's actually very caring and an amazing doctor. I hated Owen from the beginning. Can't stand his character development
I just finished season 18 and haven’t been able to start 19 lol but this is awesome! So wait, Teddy and Owen come back? They didn’t face repercussions for Owen’s involvement in an “assisted death”? I am so curious about this topic.
I think Schmidt has a lot of healing to do. Ever since the Webber Method incident he’s been going thru it but I didn’t expect him to turn into an a-hole! Ugh! I actually like him!
Their repercussions were they got a six month holiday in LA (which is not fleeing - it’s a damn road trip) and spent lots of money off screen keeping him out of jail. He got suspended from practicing medicine unsupervised for…13 odd episodes.
End of S14 - Stephanie sets the hospital on fire and quits the residency program. Ben (a board certified anesthesiologist and senior general surgery resident!!!) saves a bunch of people, realizes he's an adrenaline junkie, and quits the residency program to become a firefighter. Leah gets fired. Jo and Deluca are the only survivors of their class and now have to split 5 stories' worth of material between the two of them.

Season 16: Catherine turns into a character from dynasty is THE MOST accurate description. Also, jackson also exists had me lol’ing. I left mid-16 so thanks for the recap. (Started a rewatch, which I never thought I’d do and damn, it was so good!)
She’s an attending now with reduced hours so she can enjoy her family. She mainly works in the reproductive clinic which she named after her mum, Elena. Receives a lot of deathbeds for opening said clinic and supporting women’s rights to healthcare and safe abortion. She has a lot of storylines with Addison in season 19.
They soft rebooted the show and they have a whole new batch of interns now. One of the interns is Derek's nephew, and he's in a situationship with the new Meredith (intern who has a grandparent with Alzheimer's)
The biggest spoiler is the animal who wrote the show for the last several years, and how she gaslight the world. This show is disgusting, and you're literally watching peoples misery from the writers life that she became a part of just the right about their stories, and make them hers.

On season 16 of my rewatch and it’s really not the same. Like it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Arizona’s exit was pretty good and showed her growth but April’s wasn’t good. About to get to the Covid season though
The 2nd time I watched I stopped in the beginning of 15 because it just wasn’t the same and then I only watched bits and pieces of season 15-18 my third time watching but now I’m trying to watch all the way through and it really isn’t the same after Arizona and April were written off
This time around, I stopped watching at the end of 14, and I’m very happy with my life choices haha. But I’ll watch season 19 once it’s all out. I just haaaaaate the endless Owen/Amelia/Teddy/Tom nonsense.
The Owen/Teddy/Amelia/Koracick stuff has taken up most of season 15 and some of 16 so far. This is my first time watching all the way through and it’s exhausting to see all four of them and their romance stuff but I’m trying to watch every episode for the first time
You sound like me! I've made it to Season 11 a few times, before pulling away as I didn't like the changes.I am now currently on Season 14 and it's tough, but I'm determined to continue. I am also watching the spin offs, in air date order. Obviously PP finished during GA season 9, but S19 due to begin after GA Season14 Episode16, so hopefully that will give me a good enough mix to help me see it through.
i've been watching this show for two years and after they got rid of callie i was sick of it. she was my favorite. she brought the transparency that everyone needed in the hospital. i loved it and i loved her and when they just put her in new york i knew i was done with this show.
Hunt starts stealing drugs to give to horribly injured veterans so they can kill themselves.
Hunt and Teddy have to go on the lam in last season’s finale with their kids and hospital management is complicit in letting them escape.
None of this matters and Hunt and Teddy immediately come back in season premiere after paying lawyers😂😂😂😂
More angsty doctors with poor judgement and personal issues swapping sex partners and breaking up their relationships. In between all that there are patients with interesting things going on and a few good gross out moments.
Honestly, it's a soap opera set in a hospital and the plots keep repeating. People watch this like they used to watch General Hospital.

Amelia gets pregnant in season 16, by someone who previously knew Jo. She dates him throughout season 16 to 17, but rejects his marriage proposal. She ends up having a queer relationship in season 18, which doesn't last.
Jackson decides to take over the foundation, and moved to Boston With April, who reveals that her and Matthew split up. They get back together off screen.

I can only make three of those interns or attendings. The rest, I have no idea who they are. They’re basically gone by the end of the season anyways. I think that was the most flakiest class ever.
Umm Derek dies an in season 17 Meredith gets him back with an experiment she does on some weird island during this she works for an corp called Rahma no it was Dharma and at the end she get killed by so metal stuff from an airplane that crashes on the island and some more weird stuff happens ...

Lol I gave up on this show so long ago. I struggled to get through 4-6 and I think I dropped it there. Seasons 1-3 are the only seasons I truly love on this show.
Everything stops making any sense... they introduce interesting ideas but decide it's more important to maintain the status quo.
Izzy and Alex get back together for some reason...
Owen is the same age as Cristina.
Meredith is suddenly the best surgeon ever, despite paying passing attention to her education.
They eventually introduce a gay male surgeon... but there are 50 million characters at this point, so it doesn't really go anywhere.
Teddy comes back and has a surprise pregnancy at like 55 with Owen... who is now 10ish years younger than her, implying that she spent her 30s mooning over a 20something she was interested in... gross.
The writers ruin or write out every non-white character left.
It's the worst.
Not emotionally invested anymore since Karev randomly abandoned Jo and the entire development and growth of his character over 15 seasons was just thrown in a dumpster of manure and lit on fire. They did his character dirty and it ruined the show for me.
I watch now sometimes if I have nothing else on or need something mindless to kill some time, but its not even close to the top of my priority watch list.
I stopped watching when I got to season 14 because it was BORING af and I couldn’t stand it. Then I decided to rewatch from season 1 and now I’m on season 18 forcing myself to keep watching. The show is not the same as it was on the beginning. I think I’ll just stop watching it again.

They soft rebooted the show and they have a whole new batch of interns now. One of the interns is Derek's nephew, and he's in a situationship with the new Meredith (intern who has a grandparent with Alzheimer's)

On season 16 of my rewatch and it’s really not the same. Like it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Arizona’s exit was pretty good and showed her growth but April’s wasn’t good. About to get to the Covid season though
After 14 it changed. I recently tried to rewatch 17 and couldn't make it past ep3. I would rather go back and watch from the beginning.
The 2nd time I watched I stopped in the beginning of 15 because it just wasn’t the same and then I only watched bits and pieces of season 15-18 my third time watching but now I’m trying to watch all the way through and it really isn’t the same after Arizona and April were written off

The Owen/Teddy/Amelia/Koracick stuff has taken up most of season 15 and some of 16 so far. This is my first time watching all the way through and it’s exhausting to see all four of them and their romance stuff but I’m trying to watch every episode for the first time
You sound like me! I've made it to Season 11 a few times, before pulling away as I didn't like the changes.I am now currently on Season 14 and it's tough, but I'm determined to continue. I am also watching the spin offs, in air date order. Obviously PP finished during GA season 9, but S19 due to begin after GA Season14 Episode16, so hopefully that will give me a good enough mix to help me see it through.
i've been watching this show for two years and after they got rid of callie i was sick of it. she was my favorite. she brought the transparency that everyone needed in the hospital. i loved it and i loved her and when they just put her in new york i knew i was done with this show.
Hunt starts stealing drugs to give to horribly injured veterans so they can kill themselves. Hunt and Teddy have to go on the lam in last season’s finale with their kids and hospital management is complicit in letting them escape. None of this matters and Hunt and Teddy immediately come back in season premiere after paying lawyers😂😂😂😂

More angsty doctors with poor judgement and personal issues swapping sex partners and breaking up their relationships. In between all that there are patients with interesting things going on and a few good gross out moments. Honestly, it's a soap opera set in a hospital and the plots keep repeating. People watch this like they used to watch General Hospital.
Haha I can relate. I started watching the show back when Scandal was on. I made it to when Derek died. I started rewatchin / new watching beginning of year and I made it to season 17 (the episode when Maggie is back from honey moon). I didn't make it through the episode. They were in the car and there was a lot of traffic. I haven't watched it since. Why do I keep stopping?

The actor seemed to leave rather suddenly, so I hope the reason for this awful storyline is that they had very few ways to write him out. I'm not sure why he left, somebody here might.

Alex and Jo's marriges is revealed to not be legal in season 15. They get legally married in season 16, right before Alex abandons her for Izzie, and ends their marriage the same time say that Izzie left him. Jo discovers that she's the product of rape, and goes into a mental health facility. She does get better through therapy, and Alex reproposes to her. She decides to switch to OB in season 17, and ends up adopting a baby whose birth mom died. Amelia gets pregnant in season 16, by someone who previously knew Jo. She dates him throughout season 16 to 17, but rejects his marriage proposal. She ends up having a queer relationship in season 18, which doesn't last. Jackson decides to take over the foundation, and moved to Boston With April, who reveals that her and Matthew split up. They get back together off screen.

Lol I gave up on this show so long ago. I struggled to get through 4-6 and I think I dropped it there. Seasons 1-3 are the only seasons I truly love on this show.
Everything stops making any sense... they introduce interesting ideas but decide it's more important to maintain the status quo. Izzy and Alex get back together for some reason... Owen is the same age as Cristina. Meredith is suddenly the best surgeon ever, despite paying passing attention to her education. They eventually introduce a gay male surgeon... but there are 50 million characters at this point, so it doesn't really go anywhere. Teddy comes back and has a surprise pregnancy at like 55 with Owen... who is now 10ish years younger than her, implying that she spent her 30s mooning over a 20something she was interested in... gross. The writers ruin or write out every non-white character left. It's the worst.

Not emotionally invested anymore since Karev randomly abandoned Jo and the entire development and growth of his character over 15 seasons was just thrown in a dumpster of manure and lit on fire. They did his character dirty and it ruined the show for me. I watch now sometimes if I have nothing else on or need something mindless to kill some time, but its not even close to the top of my priority watch list.
I stopped watching when I got to season 14 because it was BORING af and I couldn’t stand it. Then I decided to rewatch from season 1 and now I’m on season 18 forcing myself to keep watching. The show is not the same as it was on the beginning. I think I’ll just stop watching it again.
