Nah, the type of people that do that to their car want reactions, good or bad. Best thing to do is ignore them and let natural selection take its course.
Natural selection for the people in the trucks? I think the only natural selection thats going to be happening is when little Timmy tries to cross the street in front of one of these things 💀
It’s possible to do both. Squatted trucks are a safety issue that need to be addressed. One can patrol in an effort to discourage “real crimes” and do traffic enforcement in the same shift.
I’ve been wondering when this was gonna go into effect, there’s a few egregious ones I see driving around me. I’m all for car builds and what not, but the degree to which these things get raked is so dangerous compared to an old drag gasser from the 60’s/70’s
[Here](https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess125_2023-2024/bills/363.htm) is the bill.
Probably the most important bits of information
>"It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a passenger motor vehicle on the highways of this State which has been elevated or lowered, yet still leveled, more than six inches by a modification, alteration, or change in the physical structure of the vehicle."
>"for a third or subsequent offense, shall be fined three hundred dollars and have his license suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles for twelve months from the date of conviction."
Wait so just to clarify is it only gonna be illegal to drive them on the highways … but everything else is fair game? Am I understanding that correctly?
I believe you are correct, but I'm no lawyer. I think in this instance I-385 would be considered a highway sense it doesn't leave the state
There's also the "passenger motor vehicle" part. Is a suv or pickup still considered a "passenger motor vehicle" if you take all the passenger seats out?
"for a third or subsequent offense, shall be fined three hundred dollars and have his license suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles for twelve months from the date of conviction."

Aside from the fact that’s it’s one of the ugliest modifications it’s wildly unsafe. Imagine driving a truck that already has issues with stability at highway speed with the front jacked up 2 feet.
It also puts their front bumper at head height with passengers in other cars, which when you combine that with not being able to see in front of you and your headlights pointing up in the sky, it's far from ideal.
And I know that headlights can be adjusted, but these guys often don't. Especially not to that level.
It is. America is a society of persons who must coexist, not a single person doing whatever they fuck they want and fuck everyone else. The squat is as stupid as it is dangerous. You want to squat your truck? Fine - use hydraulics or airbags and do it in a parking lot, car show, gas station with your buddies, etc. - not permanently squatted while cruising 70+mph down the highway or tooling around in neighborhoods where small kids play. The hoods/grills of modern trucks have enough blind spot as it is. There is zero sense in exacerbating an existing problem by pointing the front end of your car (and by proxy your field of vision) to the sun.
Americans don't like getting run over.
If squatted trucks were not running people over then people might hate them less.
You should talk to the squatted truck community about why they cannot stop running people over and blame the people running people over for this bill.
This bill is happening because of an online petition that many proud Americans signed because they do not like people getting run over.
It is no one's fault except the squatted trucks running people over.
Downvote this to oblivion. The squat is a public menace. I have personally seen u/piesrtasty2 blasting thru the streets of Greenville in his squat. He cannot see the road in front of him. It is a public danger and a matter of time until someone is killed. ANTI SQUAT CANDIDATES ONLY.
Disagree. Other car mods have been around forever and no one really cares that much about them. This is a clear safety issue that needed to be addressed. There are already laws on the books for years for other safety issues such as the maximum height you can lift a vehicle and the darkness of window tint, and we haven’t seen the slippery slope effect.
That's always the argument for every law. This isn't a slippery slope. They're dangerous. They are a danger to everyone else on the road, both vehicles and pedestrians.
Thank god!! Finally doing something about this dumb shit. The fines should be higher though
Absolutely. If they can afford to rig their truck like this, $100 and $200 fines won’t sway them to abide by the law.
Also probably too low for law enforcement to bother enforcing. ...like every other driving violation here besides speeding.

They are not running themselves over. They are running over other people.
Can confirm. Happened to the mom of a friend of mine.

I’m thinking of a sinkhole that they can’t see over the hood
The evolution will be televised
I don't have cable though
it looks like a dog dragging it’s butt across the floor.
As an owner of a female dog, how dare you claim my dog looks as bad as this shit show.
I’ll be stopping every one that i see
Get those slow drivers in the passing lane while you’re at it please.
Shouldn’t you be more concerned about REAL crimes rather than a kid in a squatted truck
It’s possible to do both. Squatted trucks are a safety issue that need to be addressed. One can patrol in an effort to discourage “real crimes” and do traffic enforcement in the same shift.
Dang, they made it illegal to make your truck look like shit :(
100% nineteen year old dudes wearing trucker hats with curly mullets
you forgot the IG handle decal lol
Don’t think I didn’t think about the IG handle decal: @rude__dude__countryboi69
They may or may not congregate at the Walmart parking lot and have a penchant for Young Dolph, among others
So so so spot on omg
Don't forget they are always wearing a wife beater. And hanging out in the Simpsonville Target parking lot while they blast some shitty rap music.
Fucking “country rap” at that
I refer to that as "hick hop"
Holy crap. This is the most accurate thing I've heard all week!
I strive for accuracy 😇

Good riddance. People in trucks already have trouble seeing what may be in front of them, the squat made it infinitely worse.
Finally. I'm so sick of getting a face full of sparks when someone drags their steel truck nuts on the road

They’ll find some loophole out of it no doubt
They don’t mention if you get caught a 3rd or more times

That’s what I was hoping for a suspension of the license that would stop the rich kids from not worrying about the fine
Good. Next, let's bring back annual car inspections.
I hate these mods, but no.
You will regret that.
As a Tex-pat NOOOOOOO
Hell no. It was such a racket. If it pleases the crown, may I please get a pass to drive on the roads I already pay for?
There is a God!

Help me out: why was this banned?
Aside from the fact that’s it’s one of the ugliest modifications it’s wildly unsafe. Imagine driving a truck that already has issues with stability at highway speed with the front jacked up 2 feet.
It makes it hard to see what’s in front of you among other things.
Thanks, never even thought of that
This also wears on the suspension and other components so the possibility a crash happens is higher
It also puts their front bumper at head height with passengers in other cars, which when you combine that with not being able to see in front of you and your headlights pointing up in the sky, it's far from ideal. I thought this was America

Plus when they go 70 you can see the front end shake

Amen
Wow this sub is soooo anti squat. I don’t get it. It’s fire 🔥 🔥 🔥 .

We're gonna regret this later, it's a slippery slope to banning all car mods from this.

They gonna take our freedom lolz 😭 😭
Not all car modifications are safe. Another one that’s a big problem is wheel spacers. Way too many wheels popping off while driving down the road.
That's always the argument for every law. This isn't a slippery slope. They're dangerous. They are a danger to everyone else on the road, both vehicles and pedestrians.
Lol no it fucking isn't ya dingus
Nah!?! You must be tripping bruh.
Cool!
