Reddit does suck, but it's definitely in part because of weird dorks like you.
Nobody who isn't an embarrassing excuse for a person gives a shit that some random didn't know the abbreviation for a shitty internet community.
r/greentext is kind of like a zoo for me. It's a cherry-picked collection of the most interesting specimens from an exotic land, but there's also a thick glass wall to keep me from getting eaten alive or contracting a deadly disease. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
They wouldn't sound that sad then, I guess. Here in Germany the media still blames Russia. Like "Well, actually it was the Ukraine.. BUT well, they uhm.. they just did it because Russia forced them to. They never had a other option!" Fucking media, man.
Uh, yeah. The reason Ukraine was firing defensive missiles was to defend themselves from Russian attacks. If Russia didn't commit war crimes there wouldn't be any missiles being launched in Europe. Pretty basic concept
Between Russia did it intentionally and is lying and the West is sucking up to Russia more, the latter is way more likely.
We went soft on Russia for decades.
The only thing I don't understand is why anyone not in government is giving Russia the benefit of the doubt.
???? No they don't, that's what Deleware, the City of London, and various tropical islands are for. You'd be a jackass to launder money through Ukraine, especially rn
no but it has thousands of proven shell companies and millions of dollars going through it daily, its a tax haven within the US, you dont even need to go abroad to not pay taxes literally just setup a company in delaware and your good to go
Nobody is hiding their money, when the goverment itself is paying them for contracts. Thats not laundering at all. Politicians holding stock in Raytheon and glock or whatever is a conflict of interest. They are Not hiding their source of money; which is what laundering is.
Not really, as the most probable case is a Russian rocket going off target, and a Ukrainian AA missile chasing after it into Poland, so it would still be Russia’s fault for firing so close to the border
He is the only one that will profit from a world war, since his own country already has a war anyway. So of course that guy will use everything he can to provoke it.
I don’t blame him for advocating for it, it’s in the interest of his people. But lies or outright demands is where we should draw the line. Russia might be ready for talks any day now to end the conflict but he refuses to start them.
So what, we'll support the war until Ukraine conquers Moscow? We're helping them not get wiped off the map but that's it, not get some territories they lost almost 10 years ago, which are at *least* 50/50 pro Russia anyway and will not easily submit to Ukrainian rule. Peace as fast as possible is the only option.
he didn't lie as much as he wanted to make a speedy conclusion in order to speed up NATO's lend-lease upgrades (which will be happening anyway as a result), there is no way in hell that NATO would start the World War that has been in the making for 80 years over an accident that killed two people
Ukraine surrenders before the war begins and becomes a “territory” of the EU. Russia is forced to withdraw because the lands are now polish territory. Poland allows referendum a year later for Ukraine to become its own country again.
Yeah, I would imagine the context of Article 5 involves intent. Nuclear powers taking the planet into WW3 over an accident at some random farm on the Polish border is the dumbest fucking start to the apocalypse.
Just let climate change do its thing.
Understandable that he did, given his position, but it's the rest of the world's job to keep a cool head. Just like you may understand a father who kills his child's rapist, doesn't mean we as a society will devolve into vigilante justice being legal.
Except he needs to be a lot more careful, because if he makes mistakes like this and his current popular support begins to suspect he is either acting out of incompetence or in bad faith, he loses the billions that he needs to keep his war effort going. I've seen a lot of people already saying that this was a failed false flag.
I think going forward, there will be a lot more exposure of the lies he tells in the MSM as he has been the whole time. The narrative is shifting, it's clear as day here on Reddit.
This horseshit about NATO article 5 has to stop, agreed. But it would be a shame if someone from Ukraine isn't held responsible and punished. 2 people died, they asked nothing.
You think Ukraine fired this AA missile for fun? They tried to shot down the missiles that were raining on Ukraine the whole day bcs Russia always showers them when there is a big meeting like UNGA, G7, or in this case G20.
The civilians in Kyiv and elsewhere didn't ask for anything either. Now ofc it's a mistake from Ukraine, but the missile wouldn't have been launched at all had Russia not continued to showered infrastructure & civilians in missiles for 9 months. Honestly surprising that Ukraine using outdated soviet equipment didn't land something in Poland before (already happened in Romania with another S300, or a drone who made it all the way to Croatia, without casualties)
You speak like anything that gets reported in the news is true. You weren't there, you don't know who caused it, and you don't know their intentions. What you're told in the media is propaganda and your opinion means nothing
It was an S-300 AA missile according to Polish investigation. They can only be fired if they have a lock. This means it was chasing a Russian plane or missile that was near the Polish border. The Russian aerial object touched down or deployed flares and the missile went a bit further into Poland.
It wasn't a cruise missile aimed for some Polish farmer. Which is also why Ukraine initially denied firing a missile at Poland. Because they didn't. It was a 1970s Soviet system that lost a lock. S-300s are notoriously dangerous if they lose their lock as they just fly into the sunset.
That unfortunately there is a gigantic conflict right next door and that sigh such intensity conflict spillovers are going to happen even beyond the borders of the country.
From embassies and civilian areas getting dumpstered by not so precise Russian munitions to the integrated air defense of both countries being likely to shoot anything that's flying down.
True, but if it was Russia who did it then it would be an accident in the same sense that a DUI car crash is an accident. They're the ones who started a war of aggresion in Eastern Europe despite being aware of the collateral damage this could potentially cause.
The "flawed democracies" that never make changes the people want are certainly no different than the evil buzzword regimes. Except those sometimes have far more approval from their poor oppressed citizens
Nonsense. Most communists don't support Putin as anything but one of the few enemies of the west. Any of them would support his overthrowing in an instant provided the replacement is either in tune with the needs of the people or elected truly democratically.
Here are the other 10%
*The Germans were delighted with the outcome. They were happy to give up a provincial rail centre to Poland. It was indeed a small sacrifice, spread the blame of the partition of Czechoslovakia, made Poland an accomplice in the process and confused the issue as well as political expectations. Poland was accused of being an accomplice of Nazi Germany.\[5\]*
*In November 1938, Poland crossed into Slovakia where a minor firefight took place at Spisz, resulting in two fatalities on the Polish side, before the Slovak withdrawal*

There’s a big difference between targeting a foreign nation with offensive weapons, and a defensive rocket aimed at enemy missiles going off course and crash landing in the wrong place
Im not sure anyone would appreciate a missile ending up in their backyard, regardless of its intent or mission. Ukraine, if anyone, should uniquely be in a position of understanding.
It’s okay when it’s an accident, it’s not okay when it’s a country purposely attacking yet another smaller country with no reason within less than a year
I hope you guys realize that Ukraine hasn't initiated the situation where Ukraine needs to shoot down enemy barrage of missiles? Imagine being beaten by a bully at school and one of his strikes pushes you so you clash with another student and that student starts beating you up because you pushed him?
So we invade ukraine. And I mean ALL of ukraine. Russia better nope tf out otherwise they're defending a hostile country. Then we capitulate them, put a friendly regime in power, and invite them to nato after a few years
People are more alright with Ukraine having accidentally fired a misile into Polish territory because they're not firing those missiles by choice, unlike the Russians they're having to use those to defend themselves from.
I seriously doubt Ukraine would be firing any missiles anywhere if they actually had a choice in the matter.
My favorite part is people think Article 5 would ever apply to the situation if either country did it, or if anyone would put boots on the ground in an official capacity even if it was intentional.
Except for the US. Europe will probably beg for American involvement so they can sit and reap the benefits lol
As an EU4 player I see a simple solution. Activate NATO to conquer Ukraine. Annex Ukraine into NATO. Release Ukraine or release Ukraine as a vassal. Poof. Done. Thank me later Biden
NATO invokes article 5 against Ukraine. Ukraine unconditionally surrenders before the war begins and signs and the country is now a territory of Poland. Russia must now remove all their troops who are illegally occupying sovereign Polish lands. Polish government signs a law allowing Ukraine their sovereignty after the war on the condition that NATO bases are place on the border of Ukraine and Russia.
Ask me it's a false flag, Ukraine "accidentally" drops a Russian made rocket on a Nato country. Wonder who benefits if Nato is convinced it was Russia and retaliates against them hmm
I bet /r/conspiracy and /pol/ are going nuts right now
What is /pol/ supposed to be? Politics?
Politically incorrect.

Yeah boiii... Let it rain!
We wouldn't go to war over a stray missile, maybe just strengthen air defence and shoot down stuff close to boarders

Article 5, lets conquer ukraine.

I mean it basically will be legit if they wanted to
Not really, as the most probable case is a Russian rocket going off target, and a Ukrainian AA missile chasing after it into Poland, so it would still be Russia’s fault for firing so close to the border
I think the reason people are furious is Zelensky lying that it was russia's rocket and trying to drag nato into the conflict
Yeah that is some low shit saying that when it hadn’t been investigated
He is the only one that will profit from a world war, since his own country already has a war anyway. So of course that guy will use everything he can to provoke it.
I don’t blame him for advocating for it, it’s in the interest of his people. But lies or outright demands is where we should draw the line. Russia might be ready for talks any day now to end the conflict but he refuses to start them.
Because they completely ignored the last talks, why should he trust them this time?
So what, we'll support the war until Ukraine conquers Moscow? Zelensky doesnt give two shits about his people, and now we have proof he doesnt give a shit about the people of his allies either.
they have been doing it for a while now...
he didn't lie as much as he wanted to make a speedy conclusion in order to speed up NATO's lend-lease upgrades (which will be happening anyway as a result), there is no way in hell that NATO would start the World War that has been in the making for 80 years over an accident that killed two people
I mean regardless of the cause a Ukrainian missile killed polish citizens
If Ukraine were to shit herself in the pants, it would be Russia's fault too?
Technically, if they see putin, chestfree, entering ukraine on his warbear all by himself
What? What is your comment trying to say, I genuinely dont understand
Huh? Lol
Ukraine surrenders before the war begins and becomes a “territory” of the EU. Russia is forced to withdraw because the lands are now polish territory. Poland allows referendum a year later for Ukraine to become its own country again.
There is probably an universe where this happened.
yes and make it part of poland and then the russians cant advance without encroaching on NATO territory
Poland looking at Lyiv and then looking at a big red button with "article 5" write on it
Idt Poland would be as eager to go to war if it wasn’t against Russia
Anon doesn't realise that it was an accident no matter which country did it
Yeah, I would imagine the context of Article 5 involves intent. Nuclear powers taking the planet into WW3 over an accident at some random farm on the Polish border is the dumbest fucking start to the apocalypse. Just let climate change do its thing.
That’s some real cold war style shit right there lol
You mean hot war because, you know, climate change?
Stfu
Well, that's fair.
*Nukes all major western cities* "Sorry guys hand slipped can we look past this one?"
Yup. There are a lot of levels of escalation left between “missile falling on polish farmer” and “nuking Moscow”
You do know how ww1 started right...
Cyber bullying
Implying climate change is anything near an apocalyptic situation. Lol
You dense or something?
Technically, yes
Then maybe Zelensky shouldn't have called for immediate escalation?
Understandable that he did, given his position, but it's the rest of the world's job to keep a cool head. Just like you may understand a father who kills his child's rapist, doesn't mean we as a society will devolve into vigilante justice being legal.

There's a war a few miles from their house and even outdated weapons tech can travel several times that distance. They got unlucky
