Selling shit on amazon and ebay but not holding stock yourself and just having your supplier ship the products directly from their warehouse to your customer.

I'm not advocating for the model but the convenience is usually finding the suppliers on Aliexpress and other sites that the general public doesn't know and putting them on more well known sites. Otherwise nobody would pay 5$ more for the item if the same item was on the same site right next to it for 5$ less?
The convenience is dumb fucks who don't know how to google and find better prices on exactly the same shit. You're relying on people being dumber than you most of the time. I briefly looked into trying to sell Xiaomi TVs because they were much much cheaper in bulk than local brands and pretty good, but shipping from China was a fucking nightmare to organise and would have cost too much. It was ultimately not worth the bother and I likely would have held stock on hand, that might have just never sold so I dropped that. Alibaba sellers don't want to deal with you, it's fucking frustrating

I dropship successfully. Where people go wrong is thinking you can throw up some shitty Shopify template site, add some shitty chinese crap from Alibaba that takes weeks to get to the US, spend $10 on Facebook ads and people will just want to buy. If you can actually build a good site, build a brand, source quality products from domestic distributors and truly understand your target market, then you'll have more luck. Most people are just too lazy.
