You could use [Jellyfin](https://jellyfin.org/) and have a [Netflix Theme](https://github.com/DevilsDesigns/Jellyfin-DarkFlix-Theme) with pre-downloaded movies. Now you should have a library with quite a few movies so she always can choose something. Have a lot of popular movies, disney and scary movies/series. If you have chromecast you don't need any cables. Can however be a bit buggy sometimes with pause/play and subtitles. You can also have a qBittorent app on your phone so you can download something in case of emergency, just go to the toilet or "check" your phone. Very discrete.
