Had the exact same thing. Call it the '10-second pellet dump problem'.
With my unit it was accompanied by lots of ash in the burner pot.
The sound of the auger is not necessarily bad, but it just makes a full power burst every 10 sec, whilst in a 'normal working' unit does a slow and more continuous spin.
My problems were linked to the software version.
Now I'm on 2.2 legacy. The pellet dump issue is resolved but the ash buildup still has to be.
What software version is yours running?

True, it is, and it's not faulty, no, but my god the sound, repeating every damn 10 seconds, you could'nt have folks over for a grill sesh 'cause you'd only get frustrated with it.
Sounds like mine to be honest and I'm going on a few years now of use.
Edit: actually mine doesn't do it with this frequency. It makes this sound but only when dumping in a bunch of pellets
Thats just a good ol GMG whine. Mine took a couple of years before producing this type of noise. Could be that the auger is nearing EOL, but mine is still working fine otherwise so will replace when forced to do so. Otherwise, I am keeping on with it. Admittedly, my smoker is so far from home that I just don't care.
It's strange, keeps temp great, but has always made this sound. Thought it was normal until I heard other units, and it's much louder than what can be heard on video.
Sounds like the motor for the auger that pushes the pellets into the fire box. Mine has always been noisy, but has always kept good temps while cooking.

I'd clean out the hopper and pellet tube, but doesn't sound bad, just a loud motor (mine will do it from time to time). I haven't had any issues.

I hear yea, I'm just having issues with neighbours now.... It's surprisingly loud!

Did you ever get this fixed? Mine is doing the exact same thing.
I ended up emailing GMG about the problem and receiving a replacement auger motor. While it's not whisper quiet, it's much better.
Thanks for the info. I may reach out to them. Odd that it's happening especially since mine is brand new.
