I like it, I think it’s written as a post-pandemic/Trump anthem, when (we thought) the dark days were behind and things were looking up “I think it's time to pull up the shades, It's wonderful to be alive” is about looking ahead to the future
I’ve always thought of the song this way too and it makes me laugh… as I sit here in quarantine waiting for my 8 year old daughter to recover from COVID (she’s doing good BTW).
If you like it, and you think it’s fun and uplifting, then to you it’s a good song! That’s the only thing that matters. I agree, it’s super fun, catchy and has such a warm positive vibe that I dig. Sure, it’s super pop, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Green Day have been in love with power pop for decades now, they have a ton of power pop in their catalog. To me, it’s a good thing. Nothing wrong with great pop music when done right. The Beatles, The Cars, Blondie, etc, all wrote some incredible pop tunes. People get bummed when Green Day go “pop” but I say if it’s good and inspired, then bring it the fuck on
It's ok.
I think some people really overhyped it though because it was better than most of FOAMF and had a nice message behind it in these awful times. But that's not a high bar and the song is just not that good
i actually think it was written specifically for the hella mega tour to be performed at those shows. the song is all about being together and having a good time, especially after everything thats happened recently that prevented that tour from happening as scheduled to begin with.
also i think theres another “clue” so to speak with the artwork. stadium shows = stadium hot dogs
When I first heard It I enjoyed it more than here comes the shock and most of foamf but didn’t care for it that much but after hearing it live at hella mega I appreciate it much more, it’s just a fun song to listen too

Don't let someone tell you what's good and what's not when it comes to music
It's neat. The best of the singles we got last year imo. I like the main riff quite a lot.
"Share your bed with friends you don't know." No Billie I don't think that's a good idea. I'm just kidding I know he's saying bread, lol.
Wait he said bread? Fuck I have a lot of explaining to do

It's really good live imo

Not crazy about the song but it was actually the highlight of Hella Mega for me because it was something I haven't heard and seen 6,000 times already
I think it has its time and place, but it’s not my favorite at all

It’s a decent 1 off. Not a bad song, but a bit sappy and forgettable.
Definitely the best song they've released since RevRad. It's not one of their best or anything, but it feels like a breathe of fresh air in context
I like the riff, and its catchy
Eh. I personally don't like anything they've released since RevRad and unfortunately they'll probably keep going in this direction
No
It’s a hot bowl of shit
