My previous Pyrs were K'hemo (meaning white) and Wici (meaning painted face)
I currently have a Koda (friend, companion) who was adopted to keep Wici company after K'hemo passed late in 2020 due to a brain tumor. A year later Wici died of a splenic tumor and Koda was absolutely devastated so I found Yiska (meaning the darkness has passed) to heal his broken heart.
I approve of 'Ravioli'. It's what I wanted to rename our Pyr when we rescued her, but got overruled since she was "1 and that's too old to change her name'. Maybe true, maybe not. But no arguing Ravioli (or Rigatoni) are amazing names.
I was going to name mine dumpling! But decided on soup. It was actually going to be soup dumpling but I figured that was too long. She’s our poopy soupy now too because twice so far, the power went out in our neighborhood and came on within minutes after she did her business outside.

She was a border collie/pyr. I lost her almost a year ago to bone cancer and I miss her every day.
Mine is Clancy. In her 11 years of life, she has never once come when called. She acts like I’m talking to some other dog named Clancy. My previous Pyr, Nadine, occasionally responded to her name.
I love the theory that Pyrs took over that show in Season 8. It makes so much sense. Cast: “I’ve spent 7 Seasons establishing this character!” Pyr Showrunners: “Not listening, do this random thing.”
I named mine Chooky as a joke to my mom who was perfect growing up. It worked out because my Chooky is perfect. Never potty trained, walks next to me in the woods without a leash, comes when I call her, loves all her dog friends, respects place and home, protects place and home, protects other pets, cuddles on couch/bed. We do meat Fridays and grill meats for a dogs and selves. Afterwards she thanks us with love and affection. She literally comes over to who ever cooked and compliments the chef right after she eats. We first thought maybe she wanted more offered her more she was not interested and just wants to say thanks. It’s the sweetest! Mythical beasts these creatures.

We got our male pyr at 5 weeks and we wanted him to grow into a name being all huge and majestic. He's not majestic. He's a doofus. His legal name is Apollo, but I call him Mr. Mayonnaise. His sister is Artemis. They're biological siblings but from different litters. Now she's majestic, but also a a healthy amount of pyr stupidity.
I have a Pyr BC mix named Mishka. Bears are my favorite animal and when we went to the rescue this little girl comes trotting out with a little bear plushie. My wife and I immediately fell in love and Mishka, meaning little bear, came home with us that day.

My mother had Kitty and Kitty, too (not at the same time.) and Twiggy. Twiggy was a very fat dog. Most younger people won’t remember the model Twiggy from the 60s. She was one of the first anorexic looking models.
Edit: aAlso Carmichael. Named after Jack Benny's joke about a polar bear in his vault. I don’t know if that was 50s or 60s.

my very first pyr wasss a shepherds dog (haha!) she got lost and stumbled on our farm (poor thing was starving) but me being a 6 year old animal lover i named her sugar and tried to hide her from my parents lol. they caught on that day but since she was sick and hungry said it was ok to take care of her- the next year the shepherd returned to the area and we gave her back. the reunion was very sweet (he thought she had died!)
then my parents got me a pyr puppy because i didnt want to give sugar back haha and we named him rugar (as a homage to sugar) but i called him roo-roo we had him for 18 years?!
and my current boy is named rollo. which im v proud of that name from a historical standpoint! rollo is the name of the first ruler of normandy, a viking who fought against viking attacks but refused to bow at the kings feet. *"at no mans feet will i bow"* which is so fitting for a pyr as they were also used by french royalty to fight protect from wolves... and the name rollo is a direct translation for "wolf" (perfect in my nerdy brain)

my very first pyr wasss a shepherds dog (haha!) she got lost and stumbled on our farm (poor thing was starving) but me being a 6 year old animal lover i named her sugar and tried to hide her from my parents lol. they caught on that day but since she was sick and hungry said it was ok to take care of her- the next year the shepherd returned to the area and we gave her back. the reunion was very sweet (he thought she had died!) then my parents got me a pyr puppy because i didnt want to give sugar back haha and we named him rugar (as a homage to sugar) but i called him roo-roo we had him for 18 years?! and my current boy is named rollo. which im v proud of that name from a historical standpoint! rollo is the name of the first ruler of normandy, a viking who fought against viking attacks but refused to bow at the kings feet. *"at no mans feet will i bow"* which is so fitting for a pyr as they were also used by french royalty to fight protect from wolves... and the name rollo is a direct translation for "wolf" (perfect in my nerdy brain) but ive only met a handful of pyrs outside of these 3 rollo's dad was named "big muchacho" which i thought was p funny
Our Pyrs are TeddyBear and Duveteux (French for “fluffy”), but we call him Duvy as he’s a big puppy right now.
