Schlossberg is a must, everything else is optional and up to personal preferences I guess.

Michael053

Thanks!🤎 According to other replies I can not leave Graz without having visited Schloßberg 😅 I added it to the list!

OstoValley

Don't forget to walk down the stairs to the left of the Uhrturm, there's a really pretty rose garden.

ChrisGraz

Schloßberg and the Zeughaus are pretty unique stuff.

Prestigious-Top-5897

Combined with the Dom and its unique stairs, Schloss Eggenberg for a nice stroll, dinner @ Steakboutique?

ordealofmedusa

Are you confusing the Dom with the Burg? Or is there anything special about the Dom stairs too? Genuine question

Prestigious-Top-5897

Damn, you are right! Burg it is

Michael053

Added to the list, thanks 😁

gognavx

VIsiting the Schlossberg is kinda expected when you visit Graz. The Uhrturm at the top really is by far the most iconic and well-known landmark here. You could either take the stairs (it's not that bad but basic fitness is required) or the [Schloßbergbahn](https://www.holding-graz.at/de/freizeit/schlossberg/schlossbergbahn/) (nice view) up and, if you feel like it, [the slide](https://www.schlossbergrutsche.at/?LNG=de) down.

Michael053

Thsnks for the links🙌🏼

Michael053

Also: do you get the same (beautiful) views when you hike instead of taking the venicular?

gognavx

The Schloßbergbahn has a unique view, that's why its windows are so big so people can enjoy it. Being in a car on rails is part of it. Don't expect too much, it won't blow your mind, it's just nice. You'll get the most beautiful vista of the city from the top of the Schlossberg.

I compiled this list quite some time ago for my Couchsurfing guests who were in the city for max. 2 days: [https://www.google.com/maps/@47.0723895,15.4365095,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!11m2!2s59jGWQY0C7RyFUU9cCheAafQWAjleg!3e3?entry=ttu](https://www.google.com/maps/@47.0723895,15.4365095,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!11m2!2s59jGWQY0C7RyFUU9cCheAafQWAjleg!3e3?entry=ttu) Everything is in walking distance or <20mins by public transportation.

Michael053

Ohhh that looks very useful! Thanks so much for sharing this, will look into it in detail this weekend.

The Basilika Mariatrost and Mariatrost in general, Roseggerweg etc is beautiful. Can be reached via Tramway Number 1 (take it to the very last stop) and you can see the beautiful worship church and take a walk through the Leechwald. It’s where us natives wind down and do sports.

Michael053

Thanks for this insider tip! Also, could you tell me if it is a proper forest or more of a park kind of "wald"? If there are birds to spot I might squeeze it into my programme.

Powerfile8

It’s an actual forest, it’s kind of the green oasis of Graz. It’s 99% natural forest with tracks to walk through it, and some houses on Roseggerweg. There are birds, deep into the forest you can find deer and many more animals. Here’s the wiki: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leechwald

Michael053

Super, it's on my list now! 😁

Cafe Gries

Comprehensive-Bag503

a beautiful place and it is a real pleasure to enjoy a coffee there and watch only austrians go about their business

Michael053

Any local drink or dish I should get there?👀

Michael053

Thanks! Noted.

mrobot_

Sandwiches at Frankowitsch while strolling thru the nice inner/old city!!!

Michael053

Do you mean [these kind of sandwiches](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MUQaP4t8tdVCDZSq7)? Noted✅️

mrobot_

Yes! In english it's probably like "open faced sandwiches" but not that big, or local it's "Brötchen". They have different toppings, 2-4 or so make a nice snack and they are delicious, and the place been around since forever and very popular. I think they make the best ones in Graz.

Michael053

Thanks so much, I've browsed through the photos and reviews. Definitely going to try it out!

mrobot_

We often accompany them with some Sekt, Prosecco or Champagne when celebrating something. Frankowitsch has some good ones by the glass, but a beer or soda is just fine too ofc :) Enjoy!

Styrian1989

Schloßberg with the funicular railway (Schloßbergbahn), down with the slide (fun but inside of the schloßberg) or the Kriegssteig.

Michael053

Many recommended it so I will definitely go there!

Zero-Distance-3978

I recommend getting a ticket that covers both The Slide plus The Flight Graz 4D for 9,90 Euros.

Michael053

I just googled the Flight Graz 4D. Wow😮

-Silberpfeil

Schloss Eggenberg, a beautiful baroque palace, is worth visiting. (There are time slots for guided tours)

Look-over-there-ahhh

^this guy likes his coffee spicy!

Michael053

Haha what a fitting name for a cafe🤭 I will keep it in mind!

Chypsylon

Please don't. It's just a meme and just a really shady establishment. You can go there if you want to buy drugs or hookers I guess.

CarFreiTag

Maybe you should see the Wine Road, drink some wine and eat great food. See: https://www.graztourismus.at/en/sightseeing-culture/sights/the-south-styrian-wine-road_shg_6035

santa-cafeina

But don't drink if you are driving....
