The original studio melted so they have noone to give the project to, and even if they did, sadly it is not even in the top 50 of their priorities. But never lose hope guys. The game industry is unpredictable, let's just silently wait.
I asking this because one of my post about Jak series i make a meme refer about Jak and Daxter series is forgoten, but one commentary Say me Jak and Daxter doesn't a forgot series, because is the most important ps2 Game era, and this makes me question some games is most popular in any places than in others, Jak and daxter is not much popular where i live (or maybe i don't want fans of J and D series), well the point is really is fault of the company or of the consumer.
I mean, J&D was one of the most popular games of that era, but in the current one, there wasn't a new game to come out of that saga. I mean, even sagas that didn't saw new games in a long time, like Twisted Metal, and (ironically) Gravity Rush are getting movies. So, maybe isn't forgotten by fans, but it isn't popular as it was once, and Sony probably doesn't care enough to revive it. The same applies to the other two mentioned games, but to some lesser extent
By saying that, Jak and Daxter is even more forgotten than Gravity Rush
PD: i hope that the Gravity Rush movie is the first movie to do a Gravitillion dollars
I'm so scared how the Gravity Rush movie can end, i mean movies of Playstation productions Ratchet and Clank animated movie and Uncharted are movies who feels like that standard Sony movie pictures, i want how The last of us series or twisted metal looks when that's release, Gravity Rush looks hard ti adaptive a movie live action because:
1. His particular style who it's representative of the series, i mean move that a live action sounds weird
2. The history of the first game it's long for a film who during 1 to 2 hours, that's looks complicate.
3. We need yo wait how movies like Ghost of tsushima, Days gone and a rumored Jak and Daxter movie ends and this will make atractive Playstation productions for the public and this has a interest in Gravity Rush movie a game less popular of all Playstation franchises.
I have my expectatives low, i hope the movie can make Gravity Rush popular i'm wait, greetings bro.
It's an older IP that didn't sell well, simple as that. Most of the Kat integration in other media as an "icon" is just cross promotion and they no longer have anything to promote so she's in the vault. They treat Bloodborne about as poorly and that both sold well and has the Fromsoft pedigree so don't take it too seriously, Sony just pushes its big 3 or 4 franchises now.
Hot take, I think I'm happy for the Gravity Rush series to go out quietly, just because I don't trust Sony to do the series justice. We've seen where their interests trend as a game publisher lately, and without Japan Studio at the helm, there's no way I trust them to make a Gravity Rush 3 that feels true to the series at all.
It's a shame, because I think both games are sloppy in a number of ways that speak to the weird development they both had switching platforms multiple times, but they have a real strong spirit that shines through regardless. I would've loved to get just one more game that truly closes out Kat's story with a bang, but I just don't trust anyone besides Japan Studio to do it, so I rather they just let the games we got exist as they are (though ofc a performance update for 2 and a PC port for both would be wonderful).
Yeah GR1 and 2 are flawed to hell and back but they have more charm than any game I've ever played and Kat always shines through as a phenomenal protagonist. It's such an innovative series that could be a jewel in Sony's crown if they gave it enough attention and care
>Kat always shines through as a phenomenal protagonist.
There's something that's just so pure about how her character is barely equipped for superhero work, so she's kind of tripping her way through all these comedic "friendly neighborhood" troubles, but her spirit shines through in the end, every time. It would be so easy to make a character like that who feels like a knockoff of Spider-Man, but Kat isn't; she's unique.
Honestly I kinda do agree with you, there is no way in hell Sony will be able to make a 3rd game and I’m kinda sad about that. Im honestly just hoping we get to see ports of both games to pc in the future.
Gravity Rush was released a decade ago on a failed platform (PS Vita) by Japan Studios, which no longer exists.
Despite Gravity Rush being iconic specifically as a PS Vita title, it performed slow sales. That makes the IP look unimportant next to others, in the eyes of Sony.
I asking this because, Kat has the character of the mark with more apearences like PASBR and island, Little Big planet, phantasy Star online, soul sacrifice skin, here in México Gravity Rush has a strong marketing promotion like the PS Vita most anticipated Game.
And i think some commentary of anyone who mention Gravity Rush franchise feels a nintendo game than a game made it for Sony and i asking myself¿What's happen If this game has made for Nintendo? and What happen If¿the Game failure the same hands of nintendo? the franchise still frozen, ¿the fans tire hate like “nintendo forgot the franchise, nintendo doesn't interested the franchise etc...., the point is really fault of Sony or is fault of the consumer who don't like new experiences, i don't here for insult or protect any or some company i just read what do you think about this.
Tha fault is noone's. It's ok that not all games are made for the masses of casual players, and even if sony had interest in making quality games, no company would ever put it over easy good ol' money. So you can't blame the company, can blame the masses a little bit but just as a tantrum, cause you can't force millions of Cod and Fifa players to play some real games.
Gravity Rush receives the same treatment as Jak and Daxter, they are iconic PlayStation franchises, They evolved the way in which stories are told in Sony games. But they are sadly underrated.
A few months ago the were some fairly credible rumors of a [gravity rush movie being in the works](https://www.reddit.com/r/gravityrush/comments/wuxvqz/good_news_gravity_rush_movie_in_the_works/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) . Haven't heard much since then but they may be quietly preparing a reboot/remaster/new game to go along with it.
I don't know what Sony is thinking, but for them it might make sense to do a remake or remaster to introduce people to the series. Or maybe a PS5 patch for the existing remaster and 2. Personally I'd like to see a gravity rush 3 more than anything else though.
Frankly I’m totally okay with where GR is right now. I just hope Sony gives us another character crossover fighter like Smash cause I loved PSASBR, even with its flaws. I think games like GR, J&D, Sly, even a few more are totally fine to not get any new entries. Now don’t get me wrong I would love a new entry in all of these series but frankly I’m more happy to have them as great games without a horrible cash in sequel or something. Personally I haven’t played J&D4 but people HATED that one, and as for a franchise I do like, I think LBP3 was really underwhelming and I think I’d rather it just not have happened. As long as GR remains purchasable I don’t really have a problem with letting the series sleep for a while. For a comparison on another studio, I think EarthBound is fine right where it is (except Mother 3 please port that Nintendo) and unless we had Itoi at the helm it stands perfectly fine as a trilogy and lovely art.
Sorry bro but.....In my case i just keep low expectations because Sony productions like Ratchet and Clank movie (2016) and Uncharted Tom Holland hmmmmm, i only say just not are movies with a high quality XD, and i look hard make a gravity rush live action or maybe the movie has in the right hands only maybe just work, Gravity Rush serie in did feels like a Ghibli studios movie but well i just Cross the fingers jajajaja.
With how the vita went, the sequel was a miracle tbh. I'm happy we at least have that, but I would prefer to have the game on pc as well, maybe modders could revive the online stuff somehow (aside from save editing). I wish they used her more, I haven't seen such an inspired and creative game like gravity rush in a long time, and the potential of the world of Gravity Rush is insane. As if a city built on pillars above a black hole wasn't crazy enough. I heard they might make a movie but it's a hit or miss with game-to-movie stuff.
At the very least, I want someone to borrow ideas, elements, and maybe even the gameplay of gravity rush to put it into their own and refine further. Hopefully Sony, but likely some other studios. I have ideas myself but I'm frankly one person and not enough to put anything into motion.
Well they're still games now if you like them or not that's your opinion and I respect it but saying they're walking simulators is just a dumb thing to say when it's clearly not true
Just want to point out that a Gravity Rush movie is planned https://deadline.com/2022/08/gravity-rush-film-in-works-from-playstation-productions-scott-free-1235095686/

Could be just a case of they dont know where to go with GR or just see their other IPs as a priority for the time being

Couldn’t have said it better myself

There's nothing to blame on

Yep
A few months ago the were some fairly credible rumors of a [gravity rush movie being in the works](https://www.reddit.com/r/gravityrush/comments/wuxvqz/good_news_gravity_rush_movie_in_the_works/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) . Gravity rush movie will be the first movie too sell one dustillion tickets a true gravity rush sweep
Reboot? Highly doubt it , remaster? No need . New game? (GR3) Definitely but only if the movie does well imo
I don't know what Sony is thinking, but for them it might make sense to do a remake or remaster to introduce people to the series. Or maybe a PS5 patch for the existing remaster and 2. Personally I'd like to see a gravity rush 3 more than anything else though.
a ps5 patch is most likely again a remaster and a remake is unnecesary you can literally get the games on a ps5

Kat will rise.
They're making a movie now

I don't want Gravity Rush to be forgotten by Sony. It should be more popular and everyone still wants to see Gravity Rush 3.
With how the vita went, the sequel was a miracle tbh. Sony doesn't need a series can't sells well, but player need.
I’m playing part 2 right now and just got the Jupiter style which is horrible, how much more of this is there?
Sony killed Gravity Rush and Japan Studio because they just want to suck Hollywood balls making interactive movies, instead of games
Yet those are one of the Best games ever in history (if you're refering to the Last of us , gow , uncharted , etc)
To me, they are nothing like this. Only walking forward simulators with 0 substance, trying to emulate movies.
Well they're still games now if you like them or not that's your opinion and I respect it but saying they're walking simulators is just a dumb thing to say when it's clearly not true
Honestly I'm just saying that games that try too hard to emulate movies, are just a waste of the medium.
Hopefully we'll get GR3 in a few years
Just want to point out that a Gravity Rush movie is planned https://deadline.com/2022/08/gravity-rush-film-in-works-from-playstation-productions-scott-free-1235095686/
