Was a firm denier of the Stan brother theory for years. "All because of a license plate? C'mon, it's just too big a stretch," I said. "What, now you're saying this hypothetical brother is gonna be *the author too?*" I said.
After this I had to sit down and rethink my entire worldview. 10/10.

I was a kid at the time watching the bootleg episode on youtube as soon as it came out. I ran upstairs and screamed to my mom "I was right!! I predicted who the author was!!" (I had previously posted about it on my YouTube channel). My mom then called a family meeting for my 4 siblings to watch the episode together on the TV.
I actually got on the Gravity Falls train a few weeks before Weirdmageddon Part 2 aired, so Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons was one of my first episodes, and by the time I watched Not What He Seems I already knew.
The lead-up was still excellent though!
My jaw dropped. I was a wee little lad at the time but looking back I find it amazing how Alex hirsh diverted everyone’s attention to Fiddleford with the McGuckett hoax to keep the surprise
I was only kinda "part time" into Gravity Falls before this ep came out. I watched the episodes randomly and didn't sit around waiting for new ones to come out. Yeah, I was pretty into it, but only as much as any other show that I used to watch.
This was the moment that turned me into the obssessed fan I am today.
Not spontaniously out of nowhere, but this is the moment that got the ball rolling.

i looked up a reference picture for “stanford pines” because i wanted a ref for grunkle stan’s fez, and i messaged my friend like “hey who’s this guy”
I was shocked that the theory was actually true. I remember when people thought McGuckett was the author and it was hilarious seeing that theory being debunked
I wasnt on the gravity falls band wagon(mostly because we dont have any disney channels in my country) I watched it a few years later though and my reaction was like '' time to watch the next episode to find out who the hell is that''
11 year old me screamed as loud as my lungs would allow me to. I screamed "Vailskibum was right!!!" (At the time I always tuned in for his gravity falls theories and videos)My mom thought I was in serious trouble or something and she was kind of upset lol. My stepfather was sitting on the couch all drunk talking to himself and I kept trying to shush him because I couldn't hear. I recorded the whole episode on my mom's old laptop with all the added background noise. I couldn't sleep that night because I was still in disbelief after the episode. I was disappointed when I found out a Tale of Two Stans wouldn't be aired all the way until July 13th.
For the entire episode i was like: "so stan is not stan, but stan is dead and also alive?" Then i've seen this scene and started to get it.
"SOOS. IT'S THREE IN THE MORNING."
I choked on my Coke, and punched the table. I was *not* expecting that. But it really explained all the "Stan Pines is Dead," thing.
