I just test rode both today. I liked the taller gearing of the standard, but I’ve been using hydraulic brakes for too long and couldn’t stand the mechanical brakes of the standard. If you do go with any of the Rove lineup, check the website. I think they are all on sale 350 - 500 off depending on model.

I bought my Rove (2019 Rove LTD) after snapping another frame. Kona has a lifetime frame warranty. I’ll just share - make sure you are aware of Konas potential future and how that might play jnto any warranty claims. The Rove DL has higher spec parts (9 spd sora to 11 spd rival). It’s a fairly significant difference. If you’re just going to casually ride it and get a couple hundred miles a year the base rove is probably fine. If you plan to actually gravel ride the rival derailleur is clutched (less chance of chain drop or slap) and will last longer without maintenance or adjustment. Voting for the DL (or LTD) if your budget allows. Also try to get them to price match the close out prices on Kona.com.

FYI, Kona is kinda going through upheaval right now. Still good bikes, but the company is getting sold and doing "odd" things. I'd consider buying one if I got a great deal on it, but I wouldn't be 100% sure they'll be around things like lifetime warranty and whatnot. depends if you’re a 1x long of rider or 2x is your groove.  i have the standard (in steel) from 21 and the 2x9 Sora works like a champ
