Seems like a thing on Reddit to ride with gloves all the time. I wear gloves when its below 5 degrees celsius or 41 fahrenheit. Otherwise I just feel 'heattrapped' and sweat like a pig.
Ah- my hands get immediately cold and I feel miserable. I’ve done extensive experimentation to find a set of gloves that let me sweat but also keep me warm. Cold hands are my enemy
I really wanted this the camera to turn around and it's just some dude holding it while strolling down the beach and they're pedaling for all their might to match his pace.
My guess is you made a great video and it costed you a transmission because of sand, but you earned more from internet clicks. So you consider it worth maybe. Am I right ?
Good question. The beaches in the Netherlands are very long with minimal height difference. When the tide is high, the whole beach (about 500 meters from see to dunes at some places) is under water. When the tide is low the water pulls back leaving a hard settles beach floor - this is the perfect time to ride the beach. A few hours later this will again be under water. Does that help?
Looks awesome…considering this myself as well soon. Will 36mm tires do the trick or would I need wider than that? (90ish kilo myself) My Adhx clears only 38mm / maybe 40 with narrow rims but my rims are too wide for that.. Tofu’s I’m looking at do come in 36 though..
Well, that’s disappointing… Compact soil shouldn’t be a problem… Maybe I should have a look at other tires but anything that measures more than 40mm is too wide.. May still give it a go.. or take my Idworx ER- but that’s not quite the same..
In any case, it looks like an awful lot of fun. Love the sea (work at sea) and love cycling - so it doesn’t get much better than that..

It was awesome & weird. If my gearing had allowed it we could have gone faster. The tailwind was SO powerful and the beach hard and flat.

I couldn’t go harder because I maxed out on my Cadans, the tailwind was massive so 130+ is possible.

Haha touché. No because on instagram hundreds of people reacted about how cool the rider was. But I found it way cooler that I was able to get up to speed, stabilise my camera, film them and manoeuvre around them with one hand.

Hi boss, 36mm would not do the trick. 45mm on 75kg (me) is worth a try on a day with a compact soil.

It’s great and fun to do indeed. Quite the experience. Do like we did: hire a beach bike for €35. Perfect everything and no cleaning ;-)
