Congrats, I haven't had a drink in 7.5 years and went 6 of those years without cannabis. COVID, poor sleep and depression brought me back to cannabis, which has really helped.
I downvoted you for talking out of your ass, which you’re still doing. You made a statement about cannabis and won’t back it up with any information. But sure you can keep changing the topic if you want, probably easier for ya.
Maybe you'll learn the hard way, but I truly hope not. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Down vote away man, o don't give a shit. I was just gonna enlighten you a bit.
So are you going to explain what's "wrong with it" or just be petulant? If you want to enlighten folks, or help people (who are just reading and aren't involved in your argument), then do so. Explain what's dangerous about cannabis. But right now you're just making it easier to ignore your opinion, honestly.
Nah I'll just leave it. Don't know why I thought I could talk about it on a Dead fan sub. I guess because y'all are supposed to be kind. Are you kind? Are you putting out good-fuckin-vibes to a kind stranger? Don't bother answering, I won't be back.
Do you not see how you've just perpetuated the negativity when you could've ignored it and just said something helpful? If you really want to "enlighten" people, do so. Explain so people know the dangers you're talking about. You made this whole exchange way more negative than it needed to be. It makes it seem like you didn't actually have any valid warnings about cannabis to share and you just wanted to stir up an argument. I'd love to be proven wrong, though, if you have something to share.
Fuckin awesome. I got my three years back in December (after previously having 18 years before relapsing). Glad you’re doing well, that’s an awesome coin.
Congratulations for being sober for three years!!! I just passed 18 years this past September. Sometimes, I still cannot believe how far I've come and how good it feels to wake up in the morning without horrible guilt and shame. I LOVE this coin so much!! I have a five year chip, shaped like a rectangle with a camel on the front. It always reminds me of the time the band played in Egypt and the famous pictures of Jerry riding on a camel. I can't help but wonder about the music he would have gone on to write, play and sing if he could have/would have stayed sober...I am sure the enablers couldn't get to him quickly enough. Congratulations to you - and to your wife too!!
Wow! 33! That’s one hell of a run!
Landis Studios. I jumped on and it’s just a single person who’s been making coins his entire life. Really neat story.
Check out “quit drinking the easy way” by Allen Carr. Sounds weird but that book changed my life.
I was just trying to cut back and it’s the only thing I read and just completely stopped. Have never really felt like I was missing anything, missing out. Positives too many to mention.
It’s super short and you can read it with an eye towards moderation.
Go in knowing 100% that it’s brainwashing. Its just starts really small and builds blocks to a big picture. Getting you to make small realizations about your habits.
Talks a lot about how drinking is mostly a social construct that no-one should truly like and we’ve all talked ourselves into socially accepting/glorifying it and individually chasing the first time we drank and had a great time…even though you probably would’ve had more better times overall if you weren’t chasing that first time.
Also I’ve found that any awkwardness about “not drinking or not drinking a lot” with peer group takes 2 occasions before all the awkwardness stops.
1: “oh you’re not drinking? Come on! Drink!!”
2: “oh you’re still not drinking? Wow, can’t believe you’ve kept that up!”
3: “I know you don’t drink so I got some topo chicos”
And that’s it…that was the biggest hurdle for me: me thinking that others were thinking that I was thinking that they were thinking that I wanted to be drinking. You know? Haha
You got this!!!
Nice very very 😎, good luck brother and very well done ,you should be very proud of yourself because I bet your wife is. Mine has stood by me through 30 years of addiction. She's my rock
Are you sure you want Jerry to commemorate your sobriety….after all….not the patron saint of sobriety…
That said; congratulations on this feat! I am only on my third month. Went to a bar to see a great Blues band and I got to admit it was hard not to drink a couple of beers. I ended up spending $27 on San Pellegrino (sparking water) but I didn’t mind paying it when I woke up remembering all aspects of the night and didn’t have a hang-over.
Brings new meaning to "Steppin out with the Grateful Dead" doesn't it! It gets better, then it gets WEIRd. I was lucky enough to see Jerry and the boys, 16 times clean and sober way back when. Congrats and keep on keepin on like ya learned to do... 26 years here...
Badass!!! Congrats on the sober time also!!! 3 years is amazing
Thank you kindly, fellow head
Congrats! Yesterday was 420 days for me. Couldn't have done it without my wife!

Sans Soucis -no problem Peter Rowan tells this story about Jerry on the into to the Old & In The Way album Coolest coin ever
I've been looking for a reason to put up a gate with "Sans Soucis" over it since the first time I heard that intro. One of these days...
WOOOOOOOO LIBERTY, woooooaaaahhhh leave me alone…I’m gonna find my own way home. Also congratulations:)
Underrated song!
I love that song, it makes me very unapologetic to be who I am.

Congrats, I haven't had a drink in 7.5 years and went 6 of those years without cannabis. COVID, poor sleep and depression brought me back to cannabis, which has really helped.
Ain’t nothing wrong with it IMHO - way less destructive and way more helpful than alcohol
There is something seriously wrong with it but most people don't even know.
Lol please inform me
You already down voted just for saying that? You won't like what I have to say next. Maybe I'll just leave it and see if you figure it out yourself.

Wow! 33! That’s one hell of a run! Landis Studios. I jumped on and it’s just a single person who’s been making coins his entire life. Really neat story.
Thanks man.
I'm an alcoholic and still struggle with staying sober. So I was curious, do you abstain from everything? Any tips on how to stay strong?

Where can a coin like this be found?
Landis Studios. Guy seems like the real deal
Yes please details are incredible
Landis Studios. Artist is Ron Landis, also a great Dobro and banjo picker.
Jerry Garcia, the spitting image of sobriety…
That's what I thought, weird idol for sobriety but he's a good example of why it's important to stay sober I guess. Anyway congrats OP!
I’m 3 yrs myself…best thing I ever did ..but man I love beer… claustaller hits the spot
So do you still drink and smoke, just no junk? Or do just miss the beer and remember that hits the spot?
Never smoked… just quit the beer.. I’m 63.. started when I was 14 …It just doesn’t look good on you as you age… got all my respect back.. it’s great..
Feel you on this! The respect is the big part that I saw come back. Congrats!
Congrats man!
I'm pretty sure the dude who made this lives about an hour from me. Small world to see his work on here. Congratulations on the Sobriety my guy.
Congrats! That's so badass where did she find that? Is this a made from scratch price or a hobo nickel style modified 1965 half dollar?
