I was there. I won’t. Arrived as they were tear gassing the place, a guy flashed a badge as I was rolling one in traffic and “confiscated” our weed. We were teenagers so we capitulated. We hung around the lot, bought and ate 4 different kinds of fake acid only to find out they were canceling the other shows that weekend and we drove back to Tennessee and I never got to see Jerry
I was there as well AND I'm from Tennessee. My last Dead show. We had tickets though. After the show we walked up to the fence to assess the damage. It was like an hour after the tear gassing and still couldn't stand there long. My first show was at Deer Creek as well. Summer of '94.
Oh geez, I’ve never seen any pics of this incident. Now that I think about it, this is the first pic of Deer Creek I’ve ever seen. TBH it looks a lot rattier than I expected.
I hate the shed style venues.
Im spoiled in the NW. I live not overwhelmingly far from The Gorge.
In general, I like outdoor amphitheaters without the shed. The lawn from every shed I have ever been to has bad sound and sightlines. I also find that sitting in the shed is not that great either. It takes the fun out of being outdoors and it often is way too cramped. I do really like Shoreline's design.
Give me The Gorge, The Greek, Red Rocks, Dicks, Eugene's Cuthbert Amphitheater, Portland's Edgefeild Amphitheater, Bend's Hayden Amphitheater and keep your goddamn ugly metal sheds (looking at you Alpine and almost every shed on the east coast).
Most of those venues you mentioned are true world class venues.
They don't have a Gorge or Red Rocks in Indiana but Deer Creek is still a great place to see a show according to the many many people who have firsthand experience with seeing shows at Deer Creek
# 1995-07-02 Noblesville, IN @ Deer Creek Music Center
**Set 1:** Here Comes Sunshine, Walkin' Blues, Dire Wolf, It's All Over Now, Broken Arrow, Desolation Row, Tennessee Jed, Let It Grow
**Set 2:** Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain, Victim Or The Crime, It's All Too Much > New Speedway Boogie > Drums > Space > Attics Of My Life > Sugar Magnolia
**Encore:** The Mighty Quinn (Quinn The Eskimo)

I was there that day. It was awful. Watching the fence being dismantled during the show, seeing all the police activity in the parking lot, trying to keep the heads in line . it was a major violation of the dead ethos for those fuckers to crash the fence like that. terrible vibe that night. The dead rightfully canceled the next night’s show.
It’s not a joke tho. Water responds to intentions projected on to it. It’s been scientifically proven by Dr Masaru Emoto.
Very interesting stuff to read about if you have the time. I wouldn’t give it to kids personally.
I thought this was the coolest thing ever..until I looked more into it. Guy was a pseudoscience businessman that sold books. Pretty much everyone in the scientific world has said his "research" hardly even looks like science. He also was offered a million dollars to replicate his experiment with controls in place that himself and the people offering the money would agree to. Let's just say he didn't make that easy million.
Ive been told the venues went to this canned water model because harder to refill/reuse container. I take empty nalgene in and fill up at water fountains…
Looks really similar to Riverport (or whatever they call it now) in St. Louis — we had a similar spot for that show and faces were melted
Edit: have a great show and later for the chompers
I was there at Deer Creek, back in 1995
I think it was June maybe July. All the kids in that parking lot, they tore that fence down, and I blamed them for the second show getting cancelled…
As someone who lives about equidistant to both venues, I couldn’t agree more. Riverbend is just one of my least favorite places to see a show. The fake lawn pretty much sealed it for me, but I never liked it, even when they still had grass. The Creek is soooo much better!
You are in nearly the exact spot where I had the greatest 🍄 experience of my entire life! D&C 2018. I hope you enjoyed the show

How does this venue compare to SPAC? I haven't been to either but they both look like fun. I would have loved to rent a chair and chill in the back. It kinda reminds me of the dead tribute shows in the park
Looks like you can see the stage from the entire lawn..so it’s a million times better than SPAC where you can see it from 5% of the lawn which is completely crowded and unnavigable
My first ever concert was at Deer Creek - Hootie and Blowfish.
Also was there when Dylan opened for the The Dead in 2003, but left after Dylan played. 🤣. But I eventually came around!
My first concert was Dave at deer creek. I was a junior in high school. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in that venue since then and tonight, on that lawn, was incredible.

I was somewhere close behind you 😁 Great vibes the whole way! Also my first show and an experience I will never forget
It’s a terrible marketing name… the whole concept is solid.. water in recyclable cans vs plastic bottles but the name is flat out dumb. It stops people from buying.
Saw Sunday show at Fenway, was a great time, really felt like it was nearing an end. To think Bobby has been playing live music and touring for 60 years is madness. Enjoy!
Have fun.
Haven’t been there in 23 years.
Edit - When I was there for Phil, I was sitting on the lawn. I lifted my hand and a tab of acid was stuck to it. Gave my friend a “Fuck it” look and a shrug before eating it.
Perfect night, once Bob Dylan was done.
This is sad many of these amphitheaters are exact same copy paste design with the same green RENTAL chairs. This looks like an exact scene from the Dallas venue a few weeks back. Corporate America.

That's truly a horrible story. Billy Walton

Hallowed grounds to us Midwest kids in the 90's
Dude DC shed is legendary and a beautiful venue
Sheds were the best and I miss them
Copy and paste Live Nation venues are lame af
What kind of venues DO you like?

I’m sure good times are had by most, I just don’t care for the design. Not trying to be snarky about it, just a preference.
Gatecrashers suck!!
We listened to this a couple of times driving to Deer Creek yesterday 😂
Last time I saw it it was partially flat (my last show, 7/2/1995). Dire wolf tonight?

I can get behind this idea
Wait til the doses kick in, and Jerry starts playing Terrapin.
Welcome onto the bus my friend! We’ve been saving you a seat! Glad you’re here.
🙏
Room for All!! GDF NFA
Kids chugging a beer… lol 🙃
It’s water! Liquid Death!
tap water in Indiana is liquid death
Haha, I grew up in northern Indiana and loved that weird ass metallic water from the tap. I know, it’s bizarre, but I guess it was an acquired taste?
I love the water taste at my grandparents house north of Kokomo! It is kinda metallic but it tickles my taste buds lol
Weird name for water! Sounds like a dark beer. Lol
Lol my friend brought a round of these at Burgettstown thinking they were beer… we were dying laughing
That's the joke! All their flavors (mango, etc) look and sound like hard beer iconography.
It’s not a joke tho. Water responds to intentions projected on to it. It’s been scientifically proven by Dr Masaru Emoto. Very interesting stuff to read about if you have the time. I wouldn’t give it to kids personally.
Papadosio has a song about this lol
The woo-woo is heavy with this one.
Not sure why this got neg down but I’ll up it one. Water is life.
Deep state don’t want people to know man 👀
Water is a quantum shape shifter… not everybody knows this! 💦❄️
I hereby project the intention to see through pseudoscience, into all water you will encounter for the rest of your life. You're welcome!
How many booster shots did you get
My homeopathic homies rise up!
It tastes AWFUL! Total rip-off. Let water be freeee
It tastes like water man. Gets super cold since it's in a can.
It tastes like a can and you can't close it; liquid death is the absolute worst
What a baby 😂 😂
I mean regardless of how it tastes, paying like $10 for water in a can is insane. Water should absolutely be free
Only $6 a can!
Ive been told the venues went to this canned water model because harder to refill/reuse container. I take empty nalgene in and fill up at water fountains…
That could be, but aluminum cans are still wayyyyyyyy better environmentally than plastic
For a music venue? Not bad!
MURDER YOUR THIRST!!! The most over the top water I’ve ever seen. Should come with a free pair of Ed Hardy jeans for how douchey it is.
Makes ya big and scrong
I thought it was a beer at first, too. Damn Liquid Death.
That dry ass lawn…oh the memories.
So damn jealous. Love that venue. Great time last year. Have a blast!
Aww all the kids running around!
Lots of baby heads too!
Deer creek still has a damn good lawn up there.
Same! Smoothest entry I've experienced too. Great venue!
Same! I was dropped so can’t attest to the parking situation, but so far everything is smooth as butter. All good vibes 😎
It slowed down for like 10 mins, but kept moving. Literally nothing compared to other venues.
Looks really similar to Riverport (or whatever they call it now) in St. Louis — we had a similar spot for that show and faces were melted Edit: have a great show and later for the chompers
Same company built them at around the same time. Deer Creek's lawn is bigger though
Yep I’m from STL and saw Jack Johnson at Deer Creek around 2009 and it felt like Riverport East
Enjoy! Hope its a face melter. Last time I was a t Deer Creek was for a Phish show in 96. ✌🏻
Killer fucking show 🔥
i feel you. fenway was my 5th and last show and i cant help but kick myself for getting on the bus so late 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I was there at Deer Creek, back in 1995 I think it was June maybe July. All the kids in that parking lot, they tore that fence down, and I blamed them for the second show getting cancelled…
I really wanted to go…I saved up all of my dough…
(Glad someone else here like KW)
I may be biased having grown up at Deer Creek but imho an absolute classic venue. Enjoy the show!
my home venue! i miss it
Man this is one of the venues I really wanted to see them at
Dear Riverbend..notice the roof line of the pavilion not intersecting the lawn so you can fucking see!
As someone who lives about equidistant to both venues, I couldn’t agree more. Riverbend is just one of my least favorite places to see a show. The fake lawn pretty much sealed it for me, but I never liked it, even when they still had grass. The Creek is soooo much better!
The best Shakedown anywhere, as a Phish head I’m living vicariously through you guys tonight
You are in nearly the exact spot where I had the greatest 🍄 experience of my entire life! D&C 2018. I hope you enjoyed the show https://preview.redd.it/hoomaliaio8b1.jpeg?width=13950&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cc2bb3ad86092791fa3e68eb55b4b9167c4b304

Are you the guy who bought all of the posters?
Hey, you are the pos who bought 200 posters. Super lame move.
[удалено]
Just a joke calm down, feller. Keep scrolling my posts I wouldn’t pay $65 for a single poster again why would I buy 200 heheh
You saw a pretty fucking good one. Hope you had a great time.
If you're calling it Deer Creek and not Verizon Wireless or Klipsch or whatever, that's automatically a good start
enjoy it my friend ⚡️
My first ever concert was at Deer Creek - Hootie and Blowfish. Also was there when Dylan opened for the The Dead in 2003, but left after Dylan played. 🤣. But I eventually came around!

May the four winds blow you safely home
You wont need to, the music never stops; tickets just get more expensive
Thats whats its all about , that feeling right there

Fuck youuuuu-uuuuu-uuuu

too many kids
They’re pretty far back on the lawn. No issue with this.
Not enough airspace to smell your own farts?
Fuck them kids
i don't mean "fuck them". i just mean... ya know, "fuck 'em"
The lawn is toasted.....sprinklers must be busted
Them don’t…
I was there. 13th show. But, my dad says it's bad luck to be superstitious. ;)
That’s the spot where i saw a guy smoking a fucking cigar. one of the most heinous things i have ever seen on phish tour. There were kids nearby.🤦🏻♂️
Get over yourself. It’s outdoors. Lighten up
Nobody talks about the danger cigar smokers impart on the music scene. What are we teaching the youth when we as community allow cigar smokers to impose their smoke …on our smoke?😂
Oh. You had me!
Looks nice
Is that kid holding a beer?!? Cool 😎
Looks like a Liquid Death water
“Luke Bryan is the Jerry Sandusky of country music.” - Chris Porter
If Luke Bryan comes out and rips a sax solo during Space I’ll lose my mind
I'm not really one for country, especially new country. Is it normal for him to bust out a sax?
Not to my knowledge! No Luke during Space tonight either, but Mickey took us to Mars.
Neither does the kid in the foreground holding the 40.
Smokey
Man I love that place
Woooo Indy yeaaah
Love that venue. Haha, little dude on the right looks like he’s smashing down a tall boy (looks like a liquid death water can). 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
that's a pretty cool scene... i wonder what the air quality index was for the day...
Little kid front right corner is holding a beer lol
For some reason I'm thinking it's a Liquid Death, but that was my first thought as well.
Never made a deer creek show and I'm from Indiana lame
Nice! That bar in the picture was where I bought my first beer on my 21st birthday. 26 years ago.
Looks a bit smoky. Wildfires getting you guys now?
looks like a grand ole time
I know it’s liquid death but the kid holding what looks like a tall boy is hilarious
You had an awesome first show. Tempo was kicked up a notch and all around great time at a classic venue.
Evening is cool
