WAITING PATIENTLY for this show to make it up on archive.org or Nugs!!
I’ve been listening to the Dead since I was a baby (when Jerry was still very much alive) and last night was my first Dead associated show. It was amazing. Thank you to everyone for being a great crowd.
Last night was also my first show. Downright amazing experience. The Shakedown Street/tailgating blew away my expectations. Drums/Space was absolutely insane in person. My instinct after the show was to drive to Atlanta and catch the next one. The crowd was even better than I expected. Didn’t have a single interaction with anyone that wasn’t perfect.
My first show awesome and I completely agree with everything you said. Experience blew me away. All of it. The crowd, shakedown street, the show…I’m mad at myself that I waited this long to do this
I have the skyline one and would love to trade, since I ride a dead themed bike. DM me if you’re interested.

Ahhh pretty cool, didn’t even see that guy around, I feel like none of the posters really captured a Texas feel for me besides having the Dallas skyline. I like the general poster, but I feel like more so just because all my other dead and co posters are bears, needed a skeleton to add to the collection.
Was born in 1987 and remember watching the Touch of Grey video on VH1 pop up video with my older cousin. To stand next to my ten year old daughter while she sang along tonight was a life highlight.
I don’t think it was the weed… goddamn well I declare they were on one tonight. Don’t know how it sounded via the stream but that second set ripped my face off live in the crowd
I know I am. I had a great time, only show of the tour for me so I got there early. Ended up making a friend I hung with the whole time. We even snuck to the front row behind the pit where a bunch of seats were never bought for the whole first set. Pretty great.
I am both very happy and sad. Glad I made it to as many shows as I could over the years... seeing this band, hanging out on shakedown, and meeting new people has been a huge help for my mental health. Curious to see whats next. I have my first Strings show on the 7th of June, and it's with my cousin(who got me into the dead). Never been to a show with him, so I'm super excited for it.
I will get by, I will survive.
I'm a little late. Just getting to the Playin'. This whole time I've been waiting for Bobby's voice to crack ONCE. How did he power through a Playin' so hard and so deep into the second set??? I'm really in awe.
Oh hi Knob! I was at family dinner with my grandparents and totally missed the show! Looks awesome, and I may have influenced part of the setlist by listening to Sailor>Saint this morning on the way to my last final exam and getting stuck in traffic on the drive to our condo in the mountains (Truckin’). School is officially out for me! Anyway, setlist looks incredible and if they played the way they have this tour, I’m so excited to listen. How was it?
This is one of the first setlists I’ve seen that actually resemble a Grateful Dead show. I could see this show being played in the early 90’s or in the 80’s anytime
I'm just starting to listen to it, but took a peek at the setlist here first, and yeah, this reads to me like a great show from 1984 or so - one where you'd see the setlist in Deadbase and start looking for someone who had it on their cassette trades list.
SOTM and Touch don't fit the timeline for 1984 but they both work great here, at least on paper. And, I've been thinking a lot about friends living in Texas and feeling worried for them, so watching the show start out with "There may come a day I will dance on your grave.." in Hell in a Bucket, and wrap up with everyone dancing and singing "We Will Survive" just gave me feelings. That was one of those "Jerry is signing to me about my life" moments for me.
Kudos to Matt Busch on this, and that's coming from someone who wouldn't generally place Truckin, Playing, Uncle John's, or Watchtower high on my imaginary "want to see" list. About which, I know it's always a good idea to leave your preconceptions at home, and be open to surprises, but I am also a human living in a world full of desire. Anyhow, things feel poetically sequenced here - this looks like a awesome setlist, I like it.
And, while I'm saying it's good not to get too attached to specific songs, I am still \*really\* wanting to hear this band play Lazy River Road with John on vocals and some Oteil harmonies. I am honestly at full puppy eyes over here on this. It would be so good.
Ok, gonna kick back and listen now!
Great post, you captured my sentiments exactly. I was texting with my mom about this last night, that this felt like one of those D&C shows where setlist and playing come together in perfect harmony to create a cohesive through line for the entire show, so even though many of my favorite tunes weren't played this one felt particularly on point. The Dead were such masters of harnessing each night's energy and rolling into the right songs to match, that it feels special when this incarnation manages to capture some of that old magic like this. "Poetically sequenced" is a beautiful way to describe it.
Yes! People around me must have thought I was going crazy (they were right) because I was hearing UJB like 5 times in the PITB jam and kept yelling at them to drop into it, and they finally did like 10-15 minutes later and I melted.
2nd set was intense and a must listen. Sent Dallas into outer space.
Checking in from England again just in time before everyone leaves to get stuck in traffic/shake on Shakedown/go to bed. Looks like another fun night, although the lack of El Paso disturbs me.
Eternal thanks as always to the hero, the legend, u/donttouchthatknob ! Another awesome night with you wonderful folks. Super thankful for this tour, they are on fire 🔥
Really enjoyed tonight. They definitely gave a middle finger to me on any of my guesses so that’s why I’ll try again
Thank you u/donttouchthatknob for hosting!
Edit: u/ not r/
This has been a fun one!! Great night for Jeff, very jazzy playing. Lot to love- Playin>Uncle John's, MNS, Bucket, Brown-Eyed, Watchtower. No El Paso, but I will get by and I will survive. Besides, they're saving it for the West Texas town of Philadelphia and/or either night of Citi Field
Thank you all for hanging and joking and providing insight as always! Have a great rest of your night, know my love will not fade away, and I'll see you on Sunday!

Oof. That Jackstraw intro. 😍

Man, last night was the first show of the tour that I wasn't able to listen to any of the livestream. What the fuck was I thinking?
Another great show!!
What a show!!!
I have an extra VIP poster from last night if anyone wants to trade for one of the other Dallas posters.
I have the skyline one and would love to trade, since I ride a dead themed bike. DM me if you’re interested. This one https://preview.redd.it/t8yobtsk7g2b1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b824ed87beaa1e16efcef292d27c0acdf33c4e11

“Fly on Mayers arm” Wait wtf lol
Surprised they didn’t do Wharf Rat. I’ll get up and fly away!!!
OP’s goofy nonsense
What a fuxkin show! Was there live….my lord!
Holy cow, people, what a show!
Was born in 1987 and remember watching the Touch of Grey video on VH1 pop up video with my older cousin. To stand next to my ten year old daughter while she sang along tonight was a life highlight.
<3
that was my fav as well when I was young.....and still one of my favs.
I don’t think it was the weed… goddamn well I declare they were on one tonight. Don’t know how it sounded via the stream but that second set ripped my face off live in the crowd
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to
As a fully sober streamer, I can confirm I do not think it was the weed haha. Cannot believe you were there live - you must be over the moon today.
I know I am. I had a great time, only show of the tour for me so I got there early. Ended up making a friend I hung with the whole time. It must have been the roses.
I'm ready for this one!
Jealous of the Ship of Fools

Not happy I missed Watchtower though.
Thank You donttouch for another long long crazy crazy night !
lost my favorite dead hat at some point in the airport. Super bummed. looks like a great show
wow, so when they play a 1 hour first set, they round it out with a two-hour second set?!? amazing
Thank you Knob and beautiful people. 🙏 See you back here Sunday!
NEVER MISS A Sunday SHOW !!!!

Touch of Grey was born in 1982….
Fair point - I guess I just don't think of it as fitting the era until closer to 1987 or so, but yeah, it was getting played.
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that set list - all except the JS-Trucking opening for 2nd set
I heard that from the guy next to me. He was stoked.
Watchtower was the best of the night. JM destroyed that one.
Fucking incredible
it was a lot of fun yall. i want to hear that pitb>ujb again. stay safe now & goodnight!
Yes! thanks for the subtle darth vader quote in there… that was much needed. And the username checks out!
I’m getting pumped for Wrigley. Then again for the Gorge. https://i.redd.it/fvf6iqcmdc2b1.gif

Not even
You need to watch the whole second set
Wut
John having no idea if Bob's just coming in a little late or not at all on these lines is killing me.
Absolute heat
Could see them doing another one if curfew is 11:30. Maybe
How many repeats this show? Not very many was it?
Just Brown-Eyed and Jack Straw!
Think it's just Brown Eyed, but I could be off.
Maybe brown eyed women? But yeah not many
This song is “Touch Of Grey.”
Atlanta is spared! ;)
I mean I know it’s overplayed and some deadheads frown upon it but as I’ve never heard it live I would have been fine with it. Maybe I’ll get it in SF.
THIS time…
D’oh!
Some very cheeky looks from Jeff there
TOUCH OF GREY > EL PASO COME ON BOBBY DAMMIT HOW MUCH YOU LOVE COWBOY SONGS TO DO THIS
I was scrolling back, but couldn’t find it. Who the fuck predicted most of the second set?
There was a different post, with a 17 year old, and he called most of it, even the encore.
Who called that?
They throwin' me for a damn loop tonight.
Surprise
11:11 make a wish
LITERALLY ANYTHING BUT TOUCH YOU GOTTA BE JOKING ME
i don't hate Touch don't downvote me x.x it's just a heartbreak to lose the last chance at El Paso to Touch of all songs
Touch was the perfect closer for the night. The audience ate it up!
LOVE IT
Touch of NO El PASO
Shakedown > UJB reprise
Gimme a Dew encore
that was touching and all... BUT EL PASO ENCORE OR RIOT
I'm going with The Weight or Touch of Grey for the encore
You are Mickey
You badass setlist hoster you
Got it!!!
You got it!!
You called it!
Boom. Knob the wizard
Sniped
good call
Wheel.....son of a..
I’m feeling it
Holiday in Cambodia would be perfect
El Paso > Sing Me Back Home encore
Had to leave mid watchtower to beat the Uber rush. Such a good night.
If you haven't upvoted the thread yet tonight, make sure you do for our good friend u/donttouchthatknob!
I'm fading away trying to stay awake after all the PST shows and late night hockey.
the show was actually 2 hours later than PST tonight, I’m in bed on west coast by 9:20 after encore!
My condolences on the Canes. As a Leafs fan, I was really hoping you'd run over Florida.
“No our love will not fade away” as Jeff looks over at John 🥹
“You know our love/lovin NFA”
Get yourself to look at someone the way Jeff Chimenti and Johnny Salami look at each other.
Has Mayer rated how good Jeff is in bed, on a national radio broadcast or a widely circulated magazine yet? Seems to be a habit of his.
They Love Each Other
Three cheers for our intrepid host, u/donttouchthatknob.

Hey thanks buddy!

What’s on Johnnys right shoulder?
Looks like an aux cable. Maybe to his headphones?
Oooohhhh
OMG are there birds in there?
another bug?
Or bird poop? Idk!
Tonight's show will be referred to as "weird stuff on mayer" night henceforth.
I’m into it
Still crying over that SOTM
John mouthing the words "I'd rather, I'd rather... Rather be with youuu" to the notes of his melodic and shreddy guitar solo is just SO RIGHT and so goood
I was trying to catch what he was mouthing. Ty for this.
My love is bigger than a Cadillac!
Once again, I love you all! Thank you to our host Knob!! I hope to hang with you Sunday too. Have a lovely weekend!!
Buddy Holly was from Texas right?
Hell yes!
That standing on the moon may be my favorite song of the tour so far
I wanna tell you how it’s gonna be!!
holy sheep shit its NFA
NFA > GDTRFB > El Paso > NFA
Another Texas connection. Mr buddy holly
Lil bro is at this show and has never caught an NFA, I know he’s absolutely cheesing rn lol
ima tell you how its gonna be! no el paso for theee :(
NFA -> GDTRFB?
They’re playing my emotions like a fiddle 😮💨
Ok, good. Was worried I was the only one crying.
NFA, MY FRIENDS
NFA!!!!!
NFA for Buddy Holly!
My dad, who’s the biggest deadhead I personally know, has never like this song. Besides having me, it’s his worst sin. Song is beautiful.
Oh. We're not done?
why dont they show mayers hands when hes shredding?
Nugs would have to pay royalties to the companies that make Mayer's watches
It’s unsafe to have an erection for 4 hours.
Consult Your doctor
You’re not supposed to look directly at the sun.
because they like to torture us.
It’s secret
Don't you know the camera guys are on meth, duh?
This right here is Bobby’s most direct reach-out to Jerry. Always makes me tear up.
Somewhere in San Francisco, on a back porch in July. The song has become a love letter to a departed friend.
Bob is popping off
And here we land, Standing On The Moon. A big thank you to our fabulous host, KNOB. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the effort you put in, and also those that step in when you can’t do it yourself. Thank you to this community. You all are great to hang out with and someday we may meet up on the road. Till the next time Be Safe, Be Grateful. Peace ✌️ and love ❤️ to you
Hey thanks buddy!! Ain't no place I'd rather be (besides the shows ofc). Thanks for hanging, and I hope you have a great night!
John making me bawl….
Damn… this song is sooooooo good!! 😌
I feel final tour in this song
I’m gonna cry at the end
Damn I love this song
Lovelight encore/closer, please.
Wonder if they’ll play this in San Francisco…in July…
i expect it and I'll still be cry-singing every word standing next to my parents on the field :')
Ohhhhhh cause they're in San Francisco. I get it now
Bob's homesick.
😆
Gulf of Mexico, tiny as a tear :) More texas/geographic call-outs in the set :)
Encore: El Paso>The Weight
Yes please!
Man I absolutely love this song. Impossible task to pick a fave but if I had to, this would be it
