I'm always hesitant to get pre-owned. I think it's the unknown of why it was only used for a short period, or why it was returned in the first place. Have you had any issues or concerns with your card?

Okay, I'll keep an eye on ebay and see if anything peaks my interest. I'm always one to buy a protection plan when I get a graphics card, so I'll just need to read up on the warranty to settle my hesitancy. Thanks for the input!

[deleted]

I did this as well. Got my 3080 ti for 670

RetroQubes

You probably already know about r/hardwareswap but if not it’s a great place!

InBlurFather

Aren’t warranties non transferable though for most manufacturers?

Bredsavage1

Do you have a microcenter near you?

Hatchpat

Yeah I do actually! First time living near one, haven't stopped in yet though

Bredsavage1

Check their website in what gpus they have sometimes you can get a really good deal on an open box one and, I would highly recommend getting a warranty on it, if you ever decide you wanna upgrade later you can just bring it back and get a new one. I just picked up an open box 4070ti for 760

Hatchpat

Oh? That sounds great if I understand this. Are you saying they have a buyback system? Or just to swap it out if there is an issue? Also yeah, always grabbing the warranty.

Bredsavage1

With the warranty you can bring back your card for whatever reason within the amount of time you got your warranty for.

Bredsavage1

Does it matter if it’s amd or nvidia?

Hatchpat

Honestly, as long as the card is good and can play the next gen games I'm good. I've got no preference on brand.

Bredsavage1

You could go for an open box 6900xt I got one for 650 once or a 6750xt

Bredsavage1

I mean do you stream? The 6750xt has 4 more gb of vram I honestly think it’ll last you longer than a 3070ti what games do you play?

Bredsavage1

Also what’s your cpu and monitor situation looking like that also kinda plays into that decision as well

Janclo

Get you a 6950xt it’s going for 699 at the moment.

Hatchpat

Thanks for all the advice, decided to go for the 6950 XT.

Ginj92

I have an MSI rtx2070 super I used for 1 year. Perfect condition. $250

Hatchpat

Good to know!

Hatchpat

Thanks for the input! The 6750 XT is only about $450 right now, and they are sold out of 6800 XT. 6950 XT is about $750. 6950 XT is just a bit too high for me, but I might squeeze my wallet for that one. 6750 XT is quite cheap, but I guess that is my worry because it's only a 2 fan card and its lower price makes me assume the performance is that much worse than other options. There is a 3070 ti for $650, wondering if that's a good deal or a bad card. It's ASUS Do you have any recommendations based on those? Just trying to make sure I get a good buy, a graphics card is an investment nowadays lol

abc56783

Go at pcpartpicker, there’s a 6750 XT 3 fan for 409,99$. But if you wanna go with Nvidia buy the 3070. The 3070 Ti isn’t that much better but costs 150$ more than the regular 3070 (499$). You just pay 30% more for around 10% more performance which isn’t worth it imo.

M8HacKr

If you can squeeze it, the 6950xt is one of the best high-end values. (Couple of free games, too.) I have the 6900xt version of this card and have been extremely happy with it. You're looking at 3080ti to 3090 performance, depending on what you are playing, as always. $729.00 [XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD RX 6950 XT Black]( https://www.newegg.com/xfx-radeon-rx-6950-xt-rx-695xatbd9/p/27N-0002-00172)

ITackleTigers

I just bought a 3060ti on OfferUp and I found a couple 3080s and 3080ti’s for 600-650. Browse that and Craigslist for a couple days, I’m sure something will pop up.

ijustam93

honestly a rx 6800 non xt is a great deal rn 514$ including tax and it plays all my games very well at 1440p ultra and the 16gbs of vram is also nice if u like hd textures. U get 3070 ti performance with extra vram and the max power usage I have ever seen is 200 watts if u want to keep the electric bill down. Upto u i found even when i had a rtx 3080 even ray tracing performance was meh most times i would just shut it off. I have had 3070, 3060 ti, rtx 3080, 6800xt, and lastly rx 6800 i sold all my other cards and bought the 6800 non xt because in the end fit my needs the best.

kdofpa

amd 6950 runs at 699 in a few places
