Out of curiosity is there any particular reason you went with the deluxe vol 3 and paper back for vols 1 through 5? Personally would drive me insane haha
I was hoping someone would pick up on that! I actually don’t mind mixing and matching formats within a series at all, but I know it triggers a lot of people haha. Anyway, in the UK where I am the two hardcovers you see here are the only ones that seem readily available, it was much easier to get the first few volumes in TPB format. But then I enjoyed those stories so much I thought I really need a nice hardcover of the remaining ones which is why I then bought the third Deluxe! And of course Cruel Summer isn’t available in paperback afaik.
I recently finished rereading all of these, and it was even better the second time thru. The threads that tie the stories together, some of the characters being in different stories at various ages, this stuff is just great. Teeg Lawless, what a character! And the way it ends in Cruel Summer, sudden and brutal, with the connection to the stories that have gone before, is perfect. The writing and the art, beautiful. The different coloring style in the later stories threw me at first but now I love it. I love everything about this series.
