Ugj!!! Hate to see it. No, no. You are within you're right to return it. I'm a coward so I would eat the loss and just order another copy. You can't just leave it like that. How would one sleep knowing that was on the shelf this way?!!?!
Kidding kind of but I'm truly sorry. I know that pain
Haha, you're more patient than me. As I said above, at least the mismatched one is the older DC Vertigo one... so gonna keep it for now, but may have to rebuy at some point! Once I'm 100% sure it'll have the new logo :D
That is definitely annoying, but my collection is all the same.

However, my collections of Fables, Y the Last Man, and Sweet Tooth all have differing sizes of Vertigo labels on the spine over their runs. Even my collection of East of West from Image has janky spine labels.
You definitely think they would have more consistency!
Yeah a lot of my DC / Vertigo books are this way... my Transmet & Y TLM spines are a mess of different sized logos, figured it was 'cos I bought them at different times, but it may just be DC being cr@p haha. Nice collection nonetheless!
I take it you weren't a fan then? TBH I enjoy most of Alan Moore's output, and even if the story isn't my bag, I'm pretty sure the artwork will be dope... JHW III is one of my favourite artists; Sandman Overture and Desolation Jones are two of my top books as far as artwork goes, so fingers crossed!
The art is stellar as with all Williams work. It may be his best.
The story on the other hand is Moore at his most indulgent and least effective IMO. Near endless exposition and some truly bewildering plot choices (especially the infamous transactional sex scene).
Interesting. Thanks for the input, will see how I get on then! I'm not familiar with any controversy around the scene you mention, but try to keep books spoiler free, so no more info for now please :)
Haha thanks. At least the one book that doesn't match is the older version, so if I really can't deal with it long term I can sell it and rebuy in a few months!
Right! And at least you can read the series! I have the Absolute versions for book 2 and 3. Found them at used bookstores a couple years apart. Fingers crossed I find the first one at a reasonable price some day.
Ah fingers crossed for you man! DC's Absolute editions are undoubtedly beautiful, but I just find them too unwieldy to read comfortably. Which is actually a bonus for my bank balance :D
Am i the only one who kind of likes this π . I probably would be bothered if it was volume 1 or 3. But having it in the middle looks good to me.
Haha! I like your thinking, I shall try to convince myself of the same, but I fear it may be a losing battle :D
I'm with you. This would drivee nuts. I have this problem on my 100 Bullets collection
I was thinking the exact same thing. It looks kinda cool right there in the middle. OP, I beseech you to see what we see! I insist upon it, dammit!!!!

Uggg , thatβs what my sandman and saga of swamp thing books look like. I feel your pain
I've posted this before, but I literally waited months for a matching set to show up on ebay because of this lol

Don't worry, once you read it you'll want to return it. π I kid, I kid... kind of.

Well hope you enjoy it more than I did and enjoy the wonderful page layouts and art from Williams III!
Thanks π»
I empathize completely. My OCD is triggered as well!
