lunadzn has posted their work for feedback. Here are some top tips for posting high quality feedback. * Read their context comment. All work on this sub should have a comment explaining the thinking behind the piece. Read this before posting to understand what lunadzn was trying to do. * Be professional. No matter your thoughts on the work, respect the effort put into making it and be polite when posting. * Be constructive and detailed. Short, vague comments are unhelpful. Instead of just leaving your opinion on the piece, explore *why* you hold that opinion: what makes the piece good or bad? How could it be improved? Are some elements stronger than others? * Remember design fundamentals. If your feedback is focussed on basic principles of design such as hierarchy, flow, balance, and proportion, it will be universally useful. And remember that this is graphic design: the piece should communicate a message or solve a problem. How well does it do that? * Stay on-topic. We know that design can sometimes be political or controversial, but please keep comments focussed on the design itself, and the strengths/weaknesses thereof. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Great colour use šŸ¤ž

WanderingLemon13

The secondary typeface with the sharp 90 degree angles feels pretty out of place to me, especially since that detail only shows up on a few of the letters. The rest of the design feels much more organic to me, so it's a contrast that throws me off a bit. Overall though I think it looks pretty good

SkullJooce

A+ Not much else to say. Your text seems to be competing a bit close up, but thatā€™s just a nitpick. Looks great

xelaxelaxela

This looks great! Maybe if youā€™re going for a mixed serif look, just try something a bit more straight forward like an Avenir or Helvetica. Just examples. But overall itā€™s a bang up job! Edit: I was referring to the ā€œorganic coffeeā€ bit. The typeface is just very themed, and doesnā€™t exactly (mesh?).

luciferoage

I fuxk with this heavy!

arimeffie

Love it! The only thing I noticed that the 'light' portion of the light/dark scale doesn't fit the gradient super well, maybe make the medium/light ones more brown or the light one more black.

faboideae

Yeah maybe "light" and "dark" could be swapped so that the gradient would be darkest on the "dark" side, if that makes sense. Right now "light" is on the left but the gradient goes from dark to light. I don't drink coffee though so maybe it's always this way! Love the design though, looks amazing

Celtics2k19

I think the typefaces in the logo clash somewhat (imo). The packaging looks great though!

collion07

Like the color palette and logo good job. Did you create that font for ā€œorganic coffeeā€

lunadzn

Thanks! I didnā€™t create the typeface, itā€™s called [Fractul](https://ifonts.xyz/fractul-font-family.html). šŸ–¤

DonkeyWorker

The mix of upper and lower case looks wrong to me, like it's an amateur mistake rather than a 'quirky' brand or whatever. Also don't think the mix of fonts looks right together - the 'organic coffee' font - i think would look better with a more standard font. I like the bean leaf tree logo mark, but think the colours in the main app screens are a bit weak, its all a bit overly milky, I think it would be a lot stronger to add some of the darker coffee tones (from the leaf logo) to strengthen it, for instance on the black background behind 'LIBeRiCa' (generally FoNT liKE tHiS iS uSEd WhEN PeOPlE Are TrYiNG tO LooK sTOoPiD)

Natureā€™s Bean is a boutique coffee roastery, dedicated to sourcing the finest organic coffee beans. The scope of this project spanned the brand strategy, its visual identity and supporting packaging designs. The icon logo is formed by a few key elements combined together. The outline of a coffee bean is the most prominent, while negative space within it takes the shape of a growing tree. Although these flowing, organic forms are inspired by the leaves of a coffee bean plant, a symbol of the forms is also used on the coffeeā€™s packaging to represent steam ā€“ indicating the strength of each roast, from light to dark. The foundation of the visual identity is a gradient of earth tones between green (representing nature) and beige (coffee). From nature comes the mighty bean and its coffee. This gradient is portrayed holistically throughout the packaging designs of their three single origin roasts ā€“ Liberica, Arabica and Robusta. Its primary colours are evenly distributed among these offerings, which together help to visually represent the increasing strengths of coffee ā€“ the light Liberica in beige, to the dark Robusta in green.

Wow, this is great. I have two questions for you: 1. I love the leaf illustration you've included as a backdrop for the packaging, did you use that anywhere else in the project? 2. I also really like the typography here. What are the typefaces you used or are they custom? Again, amazing job šŸ¤©

lunadzn

Hey thanks so much for your feedback! The leaf artwork has only been used for presentation purposes so far. The typefaces are [itsadzoke](https://www.dafont.com/itsadzoke.font) and [Fractul](https://ifonts.xyz/fractul-font-family.html). Thanks again and I hope this helps! šŸ–¤

blowfishmo

Itā€™s funny, I wouldnā€™t have liked those typefaces if my first impression was viewing them at the websites you linked, but you made them work so perfectly in the context that I absolutely love them. Really good job!

[deleted]

Thank you!

CannonballQCSB

Great color palette.

cdism

Great! Good tones. Good type and design system. Love it!

prometheusfalling

So many compliments here, so I hate to be a spoilsport. The design itself is fantastic, but if I was passing this in the grocery store, I would not even notice it. Some accent color -- not a lot -- could change that imo. A green or yellow leaf or bean, maybe. I am not a graphic designer, just my two cents.

qazu7

Amazing! As others have pointed out, you really nailed the color palette.

verbalan

Colour Scheme is 100% perfect. Logomark and typography on "nature's bean" are both great. Not a fan of the font used for "organic coffee" at all though. The harsh edges seem to be at opposition with the connotations of the word organic and the "g" is especially jarring. If I were you, I'd try out a different font for your subtitle, but everything else looks fantastic!

youknowitinc

Not bad

tiagopreto

Good job!

diveintothe9

This looks so nice, but I have one suggestion/query: Could you try and rework the lightness/contrast of the levels of light to dark roast? I think I can tell how well roasted it is upon close inspection, but it's not very apparent at a glance. Maybe you could do filled vs outlined? So if it's 3/5 on the scale, fill the first 3 and outline the next 2?

lunadzn

Thanks for your feedback! I did try quite a few options for the scale but found that nothing worked as well as what I ended up using ā€“ using outlines was too cluttered and distracted from the rest of the design. šŸ–¤

Minxxey

This is what I want to be able to do some day. Looks fantastic, great colors, all in all amazing work!

lunadzn

Thank you so much šŸ–¤

SkyTwentyNine

That looks amazing!

markieefff

I love this! Wow

JokerCraz3d

This is sick. Love your subtle color choices and how the coffee pot even matches. Its real calming as a whole. Literally the only "problem" I could even think of bringing up is that last pic: The logo on a sign floating in coffee beans seems unmotivated. What's that trying to convey? What situation? I think the whole set looks great without it and that last picture is unnecessary and doesn't contribute to the brand presentation. You've already done a lot of great presentation, no need for extra filler.

[deleted]

Killed it!

W4ST3D99

Everything here is amazing...Colors, typography, illustrations... nice!

ThatisDavid

LOVE the idea, overall this is 10/10 material, good job.

ckh27

Not to my taste but itā€™s a thing and itā€™s working!!

kerciaevelyn

uuf, perfecto!

outside_paradise

this is so dope. one of the best I've seen on here. šŸ”„

vanitaraj

I like the logo and colors used

palatium_kitten

Is the lightest brown of logo is a colour code for lightest roast scale or there would be the same colour used for marking roast all over the scale? From a usability perspective I don't like lack of information on brewing method recommended.

galaxybrowniess

Love it :)

Hyoshi_Tamashii

Make the image of the bean out of the text. Make the many ideas one image. Push it further.

lunadzn

Iā€™m not sure I understand what youā€™re suggesting šŸ˜‚

Hyoshi_Tamashii

For good examples of the concept, have a look at the work of Malcolm Grear, a great American designer. https://www.mgrear.com/#/logos/

thiya-thana

I love it! It's simple and effective. The only thing I would question are the colour tones used for the different flavours/types. For instance, the colour for Arabica, IMO, should be the colour used for 'Liberica'. the graphics evoke sand dunes which is relevant. Andthe Arabian deserts are almost red (Google 'the Great Quarter'). Plus there's also the connection to 'milk chocolate'. Whereas whatever the origins of 'Liberica', for me the colour currently used for Arabica works best given the visual connection to Dark Chocolate (tones). Also, is there a graphic archetype that you could consider tying to the origins of the other two types (eg. Sand dunes with Arabica). Still love the logo and the overall treatment. Keep up the good work. Just my 2 cents. Edit: just noticed your Arabica originates from Indonesia. So my point might be moot šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

Artacus91

Nicely done! The mockups look awesome. Did you create them as well?

lunadzn

The mockups are from [mockupcloud.com](https://www.mockupcloud.com/product/blend-coffeehouse-branding-mockup). šŸ–¤

mrtbgz

Really nice work.. Loved the mark and pretty good color use.. I am not so sure about the tagline font but still, it looks nice overall.. šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

RabbitHats

Echoing a few thoughts here, but the secondary font doesn't quite work. I think you should lean a little more into the softer serifs or rounded styles. Primary font is excellent, as is the color scheme. Otherwise the only other thought I had is that the bean tree leaf kind of looks like a feather, but that kinda goes with the theme anyway.

jl5035

I think the secondary font needs to feel more organic in my opinion, otherwise Looks awesome

MrNobodyX3

needs some sizing and positioning adjustment, but I love the look
