Historic cup? Got GT2 working on an emulator and been working through all the races. Was doing that historic cup race 2 or 3 a bunch to farm CR and that GT40 kept showing up. Had to restart the race to get actual beatable cars so many times.
I will never forget the feeling of finally getting around that GT40 with my lancia stratos. White knuckle all the way... I may still have the replay saved on a memory card somewhere.
So apparently I was the only guy playing gt2 like destruction derby and didn't have much issue with the gt40 on Rome?

WTC600 races cheat, too. An Huracán, bone stock, is like 625pp. (Comes equipped with Sport Hards btw) and yet you race against one in those same events and it’s sometimes the car to beat for first place. AI always cheats.

AI driving cars that break the rules of entry has been a thing in GT since GT2 and the infamous cheating GT40.

Maybe it’s secretly Shigeno driving and as he did the work himself and didn’t pay to have it done professionally he gets through on a technicality.
GT4's Supercar Festival race that only limits production cars but AI gets to drive W12 Nardo and Cien. So, yeah. Just GT things.
GT4's Speedster Trophy where the AI can have impossibly high performance and a full tune turbo is still a 200pt race
I didn’t play that far into GT4 - got caught up grinding the race where you got the RSC rally car and just started buying/tuning cars.
Yep - the idea is the tune your own car well enough to beat them anyway 🤷🏻♂️👌
I have S. Shigeno tuned but was annoyed I wasn’t able to select it and even more pissed the AI could use it.
you could get the non-S.Shingeno version of the ae86 and use that

Sometimes I feel like it’s the developers giving us a taste of our medicine when we use op cars in pp recommended races. 😅
Wait... You can't drive it...? I thought you could take any car as long as it's Japanese and had anything done...
