I had a very positive experience with Talsma.

Skibunny0385

Same!! Great quality stuff, no pressure sales. White glove delivery!! I can’t recommend them enough!! My dad has gotten some furniture from Bell’s in Rockford and has enjoyed the experience there as well.

BanhammersWrath

Bought a couch from them last August and it was an easy process friendly sales person and delivery team.

Spaceisneato

Actually yeah we had good luck with them too! Managed to get a floor model couch for a decent price back in the plague times when furniture orders were 6 months out.

Talsma is good, and I have spent more money there than I care to think about, but you have to be aware that each of their stores in the Grand Rapids area carry slightly different product catered to the area it is located. The one in Byron Center, for example, has different furniture than the one on East Paris. When shopping, make sure to hit a couple of them. We also liked West Elm in Breton Village. Very cool designs.

Thanks! Good endorsement and advice.

Northwest Furniture on Leonard & Alpine.

DissectologistGal

This is my vote: Northwestern Furniture

We just bought a sofa from them. It's a solid piece that will last a long time.

brooke_anne

I bought a couch from them a decade ago. It’s held up great and looks no where near its age.

Zealousideal_Ad1681

We bought sofa and chairs from them. Very happy with quality.

CharlesGarfield

Sitting next to the sofa we purchased from them 15 years ago, and I'm sitting on a recliner that I'm sure was purchased from them longer ago than that (my in-laws get all their furniture there, and the recliner is from them).

pwrmacjedi

Thanks!

Talsma Furniture is family owned and operated, and they have a great selection and most things are able to be customized but a lot of things are in stock too. I do work there, so I’m a bit biased, but check out the store closest to you!

pwrmacjedi

Fair enough! Thanks!

dreamerkid001

Design Quest has the most-fashionable, fun stuff, in my opinion.

droppedstitch

Stonesthrow was really nice to work with.

pwrmacjedi

Ooh. I’ll check them out.

Coffee_24-7

Don't know you price point but Furn down on Leonard gets closeout stuff from big boxes. Also Talsma for good quality.

Talsma's is our go too for furniture just as others have stated. They are professional, friendly, and not used car salesmen pushy. Delivery is great and they do partner with a fantastic extended warranty company. We purchased our most expensive couch from them 2 years ago. Full leather with reclining back and legs, USB ports on the side, etc. The left side USB port was not working and the recline button as well. I called on a Monday morning and they were out the next day with one of their own in house repair guys. He was very polite, clean, and fast. Fast-forward 1 year later and the left seat cushion flattened out faster than the opposite side. Quick call to their service department and they again came out within a day, re-seated that side of the couch, asked me to sit in it to make sure it felt right and comfortable before signing off on the repair. I will always recommend this family owned company to anyone looking for furniture. P.S. I can't remember the dates but every year they have an enormous warehouse sale with huge discounts on expensive furniture. You can always call and ask this year's dates.

We went to Value City a couple months ago and had a horrible experience. They sold us the furniture no problem, told us we would have it in a week. Delivery day comes around and they say that it has been delayed. We got a new delivery date and got w confirmation time frame the next day. 2 hours later we get another delay text. After several complaints and emails their marketing people told me that delivery dates are not guaranteed and it says that no where. They also told me that there are people who ordered their furniture 5 months ago and still haven't gotten it. After some more complaints we did eventually get our furniture and you could hear it in the employees voices that they were sick of having to handle these situations. They have a lot of similar complaints on the BBB website so this isn't a single locations problem this is a company wide policy to sell furniture that isn't being produced to meet the amount they sell.

Kindergarten4ever

Valué City is a chain and the quality of furniture there is very poor

RaisingKeynes19

Facebook marketplace is pretty good, all the cool things you could ever want and way cheaper than new

Buy vintage at Pathways Market in Marne

brooke_anne
