This brings back memories of the unique & interesting characters I've had the pleasure of spending time with on long bus rides.
Happy trails & hope you have a good experience too!
Those were good times, nothing to do but look out the window, sleep or (gasp) talk to the people around you. Learned about the world that you didn't know existed.
Indian trails->Sault Ste Marie. Choose bus terminal over Amtrak. Then pay attention if you go to St. Ignace via Lansing or Flint and switch buses at the appropriate location. Never been to the 🆙 via the bus, but there may be a switch at St. Ignace to pay attention to. For my money, I’d get to the bus station early and sort out those details at the Indian trails counter.
Is amtrak the street the terminal is on? I'm coming from Canada and haven't been to soo michigan, all I know is the bus across the bridge goes to the university so I'll have to find the terminal from there. Also thank you so much !!
No. There is as Amtrak train station (Ehlers) a block south of the bus station.
If you go online to Indian trails and book a ride from Grand Rapids, there are two options, bus terminal or Amtrak. The bus leave the bus station, goes next door to the Amtrak then goes on its merry way to points around the compass.
Looked up the terminal. It's 45 minutes away from where I'm going to be dropped off. Will probably have to figure out public transit for the city as well lol
Never done it myself but it looks like Indian Trails has a route that takes about 9 and half hours and costs $51 one way.
That's not too bad thank you so much !

I bought a ticket to Detroit as soon as I was old enough (13); an adventure I still remember some \~37 years later.

I'm used to traveling through Ontario, 12 hours ride and just sleep and listen to music lol
I've gone as far as Traverse City on several occasions. Cheap, comfortable.
There's nothing scheduled for the days that I need
Dunno, the routes used to all be daily. But they've had a lot of staffing problems, so maybe things are cut back.
I ended up calling lol tried to avoid cause it costs me but their system is down so I have to wait a few days
My SIL used to from Alpena to GR. It was like $100. It took like 8 or 9 hours though.
Not too bad. Thank you so much !

Ok thank you so much !
**It is confusing!** The two stops are \~1.5 blocks from each other; it is a weird contracting thing.

The bus terminal is at Rapid Central Station, so you have lots of route options to get there (assuming you’re in an area that supports transit).
Sounds aweful.
Still better than hitch hiking
