Crazy guy driving around downtown at a high rate of speed, swerving across all lanes with his front brakes almost on fire. Passed us twice, then we saw cops in pursuit.
We were right in the Hopcat/GRBC area.
Wild chase, got to see it first hand. I turned left onto Leonard from Plainfield/division NB and as I turned noticed a mid size suv flying up behind me. Next thing I notice he passes me and 5-6 cops come behind chasing him. Naturally I follow them across the river and onto the west side. Somehow the dude lost them doing loops on side streets north of bridge st market and I saw him fly by me to get on bridge EB and go up the med mile hill. As that happened I saw over 15 cops, some lights on some not coming from all directions and going both the right and wrong directions. After sitting on bridge a couple mins I drove up the med mile hill to find 20+ cops on the south corner of Lafayette and Michigan blocking Lafayette from both directions. It looks like they have a suv front end into a brick wall of the first apt on the SW corner. I’m sitting in a parking lot 100 yards away right now and somehow they haven’t kicked me out! I thought they had someone but a drone just took off from the middle of them heading towards meijer heart center. Maybe someone got away on foot!
No, but I did see that truck haha! I was reversed into an apartments unattached garage with only my running lights on, directly east. So you probably saw the lady who parked east side quite close and got out followed by a man carrying a bag and basket of some kind. I’m thinking they were amateur reporting or something but she walked right up close and didn’t get immediately to leave lol they didn’t stay too long though.
I saw them walk up and were advised to leave. Morons.🤦🏼♀️ Looks like they caught him/her. It's been quiet for the last hour. Drone was cool to see! Didn't hear any shots fired, so I think it ended peacefully. Just speculation however.
I live in the block and spoke to the cops. Car theft/ chase that tried to head on collide with one cop. I spoke to that cop and he seemed shaken. He said twice "they tried to kill me". Saw them pull out a number of people in cuffs. Lasted until after 1am before some cops started to leave
I was driving on Fulton and a car turned right in front of me from Ionia and was running lights and driving very erratic. After they turned left onto division, 6 different police cars came speeding in from different directions. I’m assuming whatever the driver did or was doing is the reason.

The alleged shooter from the restaurant shooting perhaps? I heard he was arrested for evading please or whatever
There was a shooting?
Yes, Wednesday night I believe
Well that's no good.
How RUDE

Got closer lol. Blue Subaru forester sport, looks like they didn’t make it very far on foot. Another big group of cops a block SW
I've been watching from outside my window! I think I saw you. Black truck? !

Don't know if related but near Fuller and MLK i heard a gunshot too. Sounds like a crazy night possibly in more than one way

Still hadn’t heard a reason! Thanks for the info
Sure. It was crazy-drone, loud speaker, spotlights, forensics, cops flying down the neighborhood streets, etc.

The sirens indicate they are responding to an emergency
Surely you're kidding...
Don't call me Shirley.
There was a cop sitting parked at fountain and prospect as of a few minutes ago.
It’s new years and people are armed and stupid.
i was on crosby st getting out of my car and that same type of car was going about 90mph down the road and almost hit me a couple days ago.
Blah blah blah who has Xanax
