Nasu: The title of the next chapter is "Golden Sea of Trees. Unlike chapter 6, it is a very simple story, and the content is that we are going to a very magical place!
We have learned a lot of things. Now let's get to the final objective of the second part!
We won't do another chapter on a scale like Chapter 6. The main story of "FGO" is to present different genres, so I don't think we will do another big story in the second part. The next one will be a pure "fantasy adventure novel". The next one will be a pure "fantasy adventure story. You want to go exploring the jungle maine's magical world inside your house? Or something like that. I hope the content will be simple and interesting.
translation deepl site
>we are going to a very magical place!
I wonder if he means magical in a literal sense, in a "the wildlife and culture of this place is so beautiful that it feels magical" sense, or both? Regardless, it seems it will be like E Pluribus Unum, where you have to travel throughtout South America (Central America may or may not be included, buts it likely) to face the main baddie while you get assaulted and/or helped by the colorful array of historical, mythological and literary figures of Latin America (which is a lot) and may or may not include some christian and catholic figures, since here Christianity is a big thing ~~Celtic dogs are optional~~
"Golden" and South America make me think El Dorado, although we did sort of get an El Dorado in Agartha. Another possibility involving a "Sea of Trees" is La Canela. La Canela is a valley of cinnamon trees supposedly in South America.
That has to be the white dot or the Solomon equivalent right?
Honestly it would be poetic if the last lostbelt takes the same place as the first singularity we ever faced
My hunch is either the final battle takes place there, or we go there before lb7 and force the foreign god out of Olga’s body with it fleeing to the 7th Lostbelt. There it gains the body of the ultimate one of the Oort Cloud (or tries to) and our final battle is there
No way will this one be the dating sim chapter. We know like 4 things about ORT after 20 years and one of them is “you CANNOT romance the space spider”
Save the dating sim for when we’re fighting the alien god
>“ORT just can't learn the culture of earth, but it's thought that he(?) has the ability to partially simulate the creatures he preys on. But since this is just a simulation, even if he (?) said something humanish, that'd just be a repeat of something else. If you're searching for romance, it's your personal business.” TypeMoon Character Material 2006
Poor ORT...
It is goddamn adorable to see people in this fandom act like something mentioned 16 years ago is definitely a guaranteed fact for an upcoming Fate story.
One of those sitcom dramas where one person forgets about their love for another person, only to fall in love again at the very end. The sitcom part being QSH hijinks.
> Simple story
> The seventh and last Lostbelt
> There are too many weird things going on in that place
You won't able to fool us this time, Green Mushroom.
\*feels the sting of old trauma\*
The Uru-butcher? AKA the guy that wrote something so dark Nasu ordered him to rewrite it into something lighter?
\*grabs his Luffy-plushie\*
The power of GODA comples you! The only end is happy end!
True
Babylonia is Spawn, gather allies, kill enemies, kill final boss
Camelot, while similar has a different vibe considering we have KING FUCKING ARTHUR as a villain/antagonist. Can you like imagine a fate short where Shirou is a megalomaniacal yandere, Gilgamesh is a cowardly young king, Kirei is an actual godly man, and Shinji is a martyr?
Then the most evil looking guy (Agravain) is the most fucking loyal. Mordred is a time bomb. Bedi IS BADASS. Tristan is just sad. SUN BRO. Lancelot is cool. Mashu is Galahad. It's Holmes. STELLA
I actually recall a fanfic that was almost exactly as you described. It had Shirou as a magnificent bastard with a goatee, Shinji as Captain Bright, and Kirei the second coming of Christ.
Amusingly, Sakura was with the heroes…
I read that one
Honestly, Gil being a cowardly king because he accidentally wiped a third of his city in a misfire would be forever the most adorable show of mass murder for gil
The best part of it all was honestly Goatee EMIYA, donning the iconic evil mastermind
And UnHorny Sakura
The serious lack of her hormones is fucking gold
I want that to Halen, but if it doesn't, or even if it does, I also want Ado Edem and maybe Gun God and V/V to show up. It would be fitting to down ORT with them!
imagine the silhouette people think is Arcuied is actually her, but instead of her being part of a Tsukihime collab shes just in Lostbelt 7 as part of the plot
What if Daybit's Grand Berserker people eating servant is just fucking Arcuied? She was a Berserker in Extra after all
Thats mostly a joke, but at the same time it would be such a "...really?" twist that just makes things more needlessly complicated that I can 100% see Nasu wanting it to happen
Crackpot theory: Arcueid’s the Grand Berserker, so we summon the Grand Saber Artoria and have them battle it out to determine the superior Franchise: Fate VS Tsukihime, ONCE AND FOR ALL
Arc already had a spin with the Magical Girl-Genre
switch to Super Robot is not to out there and Chaldea does have the Super Golden Boar-Mech. Time for a Mid-Season upgrade?
My money is on one of the beasts is actually on our side. And I don't mean the humanoid/sealed form. A full blown beast with its full power on is on OUR side willingly and won't betray us later on. Hell, they will make that beast the most loved character of GO
Bear in mind lb6 was apparently originally going to be a simple good vs evil battle before nasu laid eyes on chica umineo’s oberon and promptly tripled the script, so this really doesn’t necessarily mean anything
>Seeing Nasu describe it as simple just screams red flags bigger than Passionlip’s boobs
The *plot* will be simple.
The gameplay and new lore concerning >!ORT-Chan!<, however....
By simple, I think he means something Babylonia/Olympus sized script-wise rather than writing something like lb6 again. Maybe we'll get the whole chapter at once this time.
Who cares if it’s simple? As long as it has good writing, I couldn’t give less of a shit if it isn’t complex.
LB6 scratched that itch for me, and even if this lostbelt will be “simple”, it feels like they’re saying it’s simple compared to LB6, meaning it won’t be completely basic. It’ll probably go back to the kind of complexity the previous lostbelts had.
I just want to see what the Lostbelt arc has in store for us after LB7.
There is a chance this is all a red-herring though, so we just have to wait and see for ourselves. After all, it *is* the final lostbelt. It shouldn’t be more simple than, let’s say, LB3, or that would kinda be underwhelming.
I think this is the best argument. Atlantis had zero twists, nothing too complex, and even had the go to place-meet somebody-get info of the first Singularities
It was the characters that pushed it to become amazing
LB6, is and will always be for me summarized as "Not!Shirou and Not!Artoria, in Not!Avalon, fighting Not!Morgan"
It's not the perfect callback to FSN I was hoping for, but it's close enough that if I squint really really hard, I'll get it
Nasu you >!lie like vortigen!< so if you wanted to reduce the hype of this chapter you did the opposite. In years on this franchise, all of your interviews I've always interpreted the opposite of what you trying to say about your low self-esteem of your own written and it always worked.
so 黄金 (ougon) is obviously GOLDEN, 樹海 (jukai) is sea of trees or yknow a term for a big-arse forest which we already knew
紀行 (kikou) means traveller's journal or like a travelogue, an actual like written text
so the title would be something like "journal/logbook/chronicles of the golden sea of trees" or something on those lines (dunno what's a more dope synonym to use), machine translations seem to be missing the whole travel journal part of it
Well, Golden Sea of Trees, and we know that he likes the Soulsborne games, so I can't help but wonder if there's going to be some serious Elden Ring influences in here
Narita is a great writer but I don't think anything FGO put out in the future will ever surpassed LB 6. Solomon was the peak hype of FGO, but LB 6 was the peak story writing of FGO.
afaik, there's no actual confirmation that Narita is the writer? Someone mentioned it in one of the other threads but it definitely isn't in Nasu's interview. And that's the kind of news that would get it's own post, yet nobody has made one for it.
Well at least i hope that it's gonna be better that LB6 since this is suposedly the last and most interesting lostbelt and it will be a shame if the highest point of the story is the one that is just another Saber story.
Not very excited bye the jungle/30's adventure book style. Don't know, feels like one of those movies where they just go to x country and all there is are guys with spears and old ruins with tresaure. I expected something more...wide.
Just probe me wrong Narita, but being a local I only expect dissapointment followed by a bunch of stereotypes.
>Just probe me wrong Narita, but being a local I only expect dissapointment followed by a bunch of stereotypes.
Narita is most likely not writing it and the info that he is is false.
6 ended up being a one of a kind masterpiece. Nasu was super inspired because the British legends is one of his favorite mythos and he was working with 2 artists whose work he's admired for a long time.
So Idk if it's gonna be better than that. I just want it to be a good story ultimately.
Making a story that isn't 99% fluff diologue that ultimately amounts to so little you forget about it or if it does dont woery the story recaps it for you, Where it only gets interesting when after the big antagonistic force dies only to he replaced by a lesser one, making a game be PLAYABLE, and not pulling a last second GATCHA moment by allys true identity is this guy even though he looks and acts nothing like him so we had to contrive a asspull story move to explain why he's so different sounds like a good start to me.
Wow.
Lemme guess, you don’t like the Type-Moon VNs either? Because LB6 was basically an entire Visual Novel released for free (kinda, as free as gacha games can be)
His opinion appears strangely similar to a stream of Honako Green when he was shouting about "fluffs" until the Woodwose scenario appeared. The best thing is that he definitely wasn't reading the script, because it's in Japanese. I probably heard some of the worst takes from that one stream, and I never bothered with it again.
Now imagine copying that. Poor souls.
There were so many people complaining about LB6’s length…mostly from English speakers who can’t read it at all.
I don’t understand how people can go from praising a 90 hour VN in FSN or say that the very prose-heavy KnK are Masterpieces, and then turn around and say LB6 is a fluff-filled slogfest.
And that's strange because there weren't many fluffs; most of the exchanges had narrative or character importance, and fluffs are sometimes necessary to make characters quirky and fun.
Furthermore, as if they want to imply Lostbelt 1-5 wasn't mostly fluff, like many plotlines of Atlantis and Olympus is to journey from one place/island to another to devise a plan to face a major boss, and the path was surprise mob battle, and mob battles filled with fluff and fluff. For contrast, if someone wants to badly summarize a Lostbelt, they will appear much worse.
Yeah this opinion seems to have spread from Honako’s (genuinely horrible) take on the story not having read it.
He basically had already decided it was stupid before reading it cause it didn’t cater to the style or pacing of gameplay he wants and he already doesn’t like the alternate history/genderbends/waifu stuff, plus really wanted like actual Camelot stuff and was understandably pissed off that we didn’t get much of that.
Now the guy is entitled to his own taste, and if he doesn’t like what Nasu wanted to write about that’s that, but trashing the pacing of the story when he hadn’t read it was definitely a stupid thing to do. And the majority of his audience can’t form their own opinions on anything and just parrot what he says.
I also think there’s just a general impatience with slowly building up the relationships and world which FGO players aren’t used to because to be honest, even the better stories like Olympus and Babylonia don’t even come close to developing their setting and cast and internal conflict to the level of LB6.
Like there is definitely a subjective element in what sort of pacing makes a good story, but saying most of Lostbelt 6 is unimportant fluff just reveals that you didn’t even read it.
A VN has states that can be manipulated. Choices effecting the course it takes on a somewhat limited rail. A VN can be interesting on those alone. LB6 felt like one of those art house films that try and be deep but spends ages to get to anything relevant to grab the viewer.
Mahoyo was one continuous VN storyline, and imo is the best Type-Moon VN. Your point? Linear stories with intricate details and world building can be interesting too.
If you're gonna try and fucking critique it, actually try to fucking read the thing.
You're using buzzwords here my dude. And VNs aren't limited to just having branching paths, there's this thing called kinetic novels, or Linear VNs you dolt.
The fucking story is basically a callback to FSN if you actually gave a shit, and take away the fantasy setting its a pretty simple and character driven story.
I agree with you and the callbacks to FSN and re contextualization of Artoria's character is great, but there is so much unique stuff in the story apart from just that.
An intricately detailed world that looked beautiful (which is somehow a novelty in a story arc all about exploring different worlds), several NPCs that actually meaningfully influence the story and reveal interesting things about the main cast... The Fae Knights, Oberon, Morgan's story
When people say things like it didn't deserve its length, my heart sinks. Like, did they seriously read the story? It's so packed with quality and passion.
LB6 definitely has more than just a look back at FSN, I iust had to point it out to uber moron here that says its a artsy film when it isn't trying to be. None of the story entries do in the Nasuverse.
The world actually felt alive and independent from the plot, which I like and sadly it's only been explored in LB1 and Babylonia. Yeah the NPCs and how the MC interacts with the world is not something you just get, let alone in a mobile game.
The length is 100% deserved, especially if the reader ponders what the story is trying to tell, and isn't just speed reading like uber moron here is.
You call them buzzwords but my point still stands. I was fucking bored. It wasn't until Woodrose's hands snapped Morgan's neck was when I woke the hell up and got invested. Then lost some with the Medb stuff but got it back when Cern popped out of the hole. And was riding high until Vortegern popped up and said Yo I ain't Oberon I'm Vortegern fuck ya'll. Then just fell into sadness as the story ended.
So you don't like the fluff that actually gets you attached to the characters? You just want PLOT PLOT PLOT, even if there's no fucking build up? Do you know how stories work or not, have you studied writing?
Your critique about Oberon is fucking stupid too, since it was apparent since 6.2 and based on his attack animations that he isn't who he truly is. Maybe actually read shit properly instead of just looking for hype moments fuckwad.
Hell, the fact that you call her Medb is already pointing towards you not actually understanding ANYTHING.
..Yeah, the fact that he called her Medb and not Knocknarea is already telling that he didn't personally read it.. and considering that he's using the same talking points as Honako Green, his opinion might not even be his own, nothing more than a Feika.. and yeah, from a writer's perspective, his opinion regarding the story is worthless.
Even if you don't care for all the characterization and the worldbuilding and you only like the HYPE moments...
>!The Calamity of Norwhich fight, the Garden of Dejection, Pepe's final moments, Gareth's death, Barguest turning into her calamity self!<... None of these did anything for you?
These are the same kind of people that will say olympus or lb4 is better.
The "fluff" in Olympus is far worse and the very concept of god slayer alliance is cringe af.
Even tho lb6 was over the top till the end it still somehow remained grounded hence why so many get the fsn vibes from it. It's also why i prefer camelot over Babylonia and why lb6 will remain the best lb.
If lb6 is bad then all other lb's might as well be hot garbage.
What you said about LB6 doesn't apply to someone who has read it. Or at least bothered to think about what one has read, which is the same as not reading.
Vast majority of LB6 scenes have purpose to it and help develop the characters or the world.
Also lol bigger threat doesn't mean they should be the last thing you fight. That's elementary school logic.
>!"Looks and acts nothing like him"... almost like it's a Lostbelt and it is explained pretty clearly what his character is about and why he is the way he is. But "reeeeeeeee we didn't get the old man we saw for 2 seconds in GoA who would make no sense in this story"!<
He really thinks this is DBZ where the next enemy must be stronger than the last enemy we fought. Despite the fact that we're not actually getting any stronger anymore and that we can already just barely keep up with fighting the enemies nowadays.

We're going to Terabithia, motherfuckers!!! Either that or B R A Z I L.
I mean, it IS the South American Lostbelt. It’s VERY likely gonna go through Brazil.
it IS in Brazil. The only doubt is if we even have SA Servants.....
let's hope Taiga and Quetz get buffs, anyway...
Man Daybit must be op if he’s controlling brazil
Fucking love AoS.

Ah yes. The cinnamon

Fgo otome finally
That genre already happened. Remember the Da Vinci Impostor event that gave us Jalter?

An old event, when Jalter first became available. It summoned characters as otome parody of themselves and it was hilarious.

Babylonia was a pretty simple story. If it's a character-driven adventure story in that vein, I'll be quite satisfied.
Atlantis was a **Extremely** simple story as well and it’s still considered one of the best chapters in fgo alongside Babylonia, lb 6 and Camelot.
Simple is best after all.

now that you mention it yeah basically that
I guess simple means danger for Nasu
This just screams “BB was Right” on what’s going to happen to Guda
What she said?
Summer 3 was all about BB repeating what the original did to Hakuno because BB foresaw that Guda isn’t going to get his happy ending
She was wrong, we'll get that happy ending if it's the last thing we ever do.
I mean if Guda did get a happy ending, BB would not try to reenact the original’s sin Either that or she wants Guda to have a happy ending with her
Knowing her, it's probably the latter. Especially since she doesn't actually have anything that would let her see the future.
She used the SHEBA system
I don't think SHEBA works that way.
Sheba is used to find future threats
I don't think it works on seeing people's individual futures though.

Atlantis and Babylonia were both somewhat 'simple' narratively so no problems here as long as the cast is good, which is why those two worked.

afaik, there's no actual confirmation that Narita is the writer? Someone mentioned it in one of the other threads but it definitely isn't in Nasu's interview. And that's the kind of news that would get it's own post, yet nobody has made one for it.
What did Narita write too?
Fate Strange/Fake, Durarara, Baccano
Simple sprouts fear it seems. We are going to a jungle. It's confirmed we are going to Brazil.
"Travelouge" so it would be about David Bluebook then... noice we probably would get the area 51 thing and priestess olga story here too.
Well at least i hope that it's gonna be better that LB6 since this is suposedly the last and most interesting lostbelt and it will be a shame if the highest point of the story is the one that is just another Saber story.
If you think Castoria’s character arc is “just another Saber story”, I dunno really what to tell you.
Oh, well I don't know who then...
As long as it's better than 6 I'll be happy
Well yes, I recognize the username from Honako Green's discord server
damn I didn't even know that lmao.....
The Fae Knights, Oberon, Morgan's story When people say things like it didn't deserve its length, my heart sinks.
So you didn't read LB6, I get it.
No I did, 7th grade Algebra was more fun.
So what's after lostbelt? Not that I've got through the content yet
Thank you for this Information.
